Robert Mims, the Texan Bull Rider

- In this new film, three-times senior world champion bull rider (an activity that needs no further description) Robert Mims introduces British filmmaker Doug Hancock to the close-knit world of a traditional rodeo community. This lyrical portrait of the rituals and rhythms that underpin the cowboy way of life was shot on location amid the dry heat and picturesque landscapes of Texas and Utah, setting the scene for an exhilarating picture of a traditional sport that, in 2018, is still finding ways to keep up with the times. Speaking of his often hair-raising study of the riders, animals, and traditions that define the bull-riding world, Hancock explains: “What I wanted to make was a film that dispelled the myth that all cowboys are white. I don’t think anyone could fail to be inspired by Robert’s wisdom, wit, and sheer love of life.”

I thank you for your time and consideration of being a true cowboy. Wish we all could understand how you would. I've been riding horses all my life and never got into bull riding. But I totally can relate to the story you have in the short time I've had on this Earth. God bless you and best of wishes to you and your family
Great video ! Yes one has to Cowboy Up no matter what u do .Its all n ur heart ! I've worked logging with a broken arm and leg, could only run skidder with a cast on my leg . My mother would always tell me I'd better not b breaking bones because I'd pay for it later . Man was she ever right, I'd always tell her I didn't do it on purpose, then I'd get the look . Yes having to much fun has its price ! I'm on the back side of fifty now and fill every aching bone when the barometric pressure rises or falls fast ! Thank u for the video ! I've rode horses alot n plan on buying a couple soon .Patriot Perry .
This is beautiful! Thanks for this!
Beautiful story!
Id give you a million likes buddy these are stories i like to hear from child hood 🙏👌
the only thing I can say is stunning!
Vaqueros were the first cowboys after the spanish conquistadors brought horse from Spain. When the men from the east coast first came to the west they wore bowler hats and met the vaqueros. Thats how cowboys started.
Ponce de Leon brought the first cattle to the East Coast in Florida in 1521.
Seems like a solid genuine man
Great video! Bless these cowboys!

Bull riding is the one thing I’ve always wanted to do but it’s pretty much impossible for me to start, at least any time soon
Why not? Isn’t it better to learn young?
