In 2017 a small network of tunnels was found deep in the hills of the Western Heights in Dover.
These tunnels were possibly constructed around the 1860s as gun rooms protecting the deep moats that are located though the bricked up windows.
Please note: these tunnels are now locked up and no future explores is possible.

Excellent video as always guys! So much fascinating old graffiti down there. Great you got in to see it before it got closed.
Great hidden gem. Its a shame someone broke the shower tray, under the red station signs, there looked like there may of been hooks in the wall, maybe to hold buckets of sand. The pencil artwork is brilliant. Like a Banksy of the 19 hundreds
Hi Ian the red "station for 3 buckets" sings, were made by a company that had 2 factory's (Palmers Green N13 = the old Grey Mansion) at 87-89 Hedge Lane, and another somewhere in Edmonton North London, the company made metal enamel signs back in the 1920;s and the sons of James Bruton kept it going until the pair were Retiring in March 1946 when they sold the company, and the old grey mansion was demolished (more history lost by greedy developers!!!) some time around late 1960's as Fairfield Estates bough the plot in 1969, so I have found from an item in the old London Gazette, it is also mentioned on the plamersgreen13.com web site, So the man that made the sign has died, the place it was made at has gone, but all those years later it still survives!!!, in almost perfect condition, that is what I love about channels like yours, you can find something old, and it brings history back to life, people places long forgotten by everyone can be remembered again, for those curious enough to take the time and look, great video, great channel, LOVE what you do!!!!.
The site was developed and called Mintern close about 108 flats,I delivered there as a postman.
I could do a running commentary to this video. So much to comment on. When I heard that this was accessible I rushed down by sadly I missed it’s sealing by a matter of hours. I’ve been waiting for this video (as I knew you had been) for a long time now and I’m not disappointed. Very well documented and I thank you for showing us. Absolutely amazing the state of this place. No spray paint at all! Also amazing to see the evidence of its use during WW2! Oh, and 7:55, wow :-D
Sub Exploration it’s good to see these places intact and free from graffiti seeing places that are left to decay by themselves are fantastic can’t beat time capsules even include the bogs lol love your videos keep up the good work dude
I love drone shots of historically significant things. 10 points.
So cool u and Chris was the first in this place since it was closed up all those years ago love it guys ❤️ thank you for taking us along for the ride
Shame the preservation society don’t do guided tours down these tunnels
Quality explore, happy its well secured now for future Generations to see or even use in time of National need
Thanks Iks Ian and Chris awesome 👌 Video
very intresant good luck from denmark
another great video folks really love your channel you're probably one of my favorites on TH-cam kind regards from Mark in Cornwall UK
Graffiti overload, The lock saved me near the end though, otherwise my eyes would have squinted out my head trying to read all the writing. Very nice condition down there, well done.
Btw, second time they’ve been filmed but first time someone’s done it in good quality :)
Quiet voices? Nice to see something new from the heights 👍🏻
I would love to come along with you guys I love watching your videos it’s fantastic to know that these jems are hidden away probs the best thing really to stop them being destroyed by vandals I’ve watched every video you put up keep up the good work and let me know if I can tag along one day cheers guys
Very good I'm very impressed. Wow like you say time capsule so so glad you have documented this. keep up the good work looking forward to the next vid👍
Another interesting video, keep up the good work!
I am working up there been up the half year and been in the tunnels and I am working on tunnels now
Wow....What a spooky place, much more so than most I thought. Maybe because its been left on its own to decay for decades.
Yikes almost first! 🙃 Love the vids chaps! 😎
Another amazing vid ian.i watched on a 4k tv and the quality was stunning.felt like being there. where u find these tunnels i will never know but great job again .you should be in charge of all these fortiforcations and do tours .for than what the council bothers to do .
22:45 HLI = Highland Light Infantry
Very interesting
A very special location is a very interesting video.
The mestelwork is done by professionals.
20:49 - The inter-war graffiti could have been made by people modernising the site, or by War Department caretaking staff who lived in, and looked after it if it was on a 'care and maintainence' listing. 28:40 - Written by someone not unfamiliar with Dartmoor prison and preferring it to this fort. It must have been grim, then.
The best vids, scary vids 😆
Mist 8:36 and 8:43. Fast little orb starting at 8:55 on the left. Goes right out the door. Orb appears center screen at 9:03. Another orb about 5 bricks to the left of the sign 9:06. Orb 11:18 lower right moving left. Orb and a faint second orb center of doorway 11:37. That's about it, you certainly were not alone! 👻
PWV - Prince of Wales's Volunteers; SLR - South Lancashire Regiment
You guys should be mindful of mold, lead paint and asbestos risks.
cheers boys
Obviously some Welsh regiment stationed down there at some point
Cannot hear voices very clearly.
Why do they want to keep people from seeing historical areas. Good find guys. Thank you
Like👍
