the reason why withers don't despawn is that withers count as a boss mob. so like the ender dragon that is a boss mob, boss mobs don't despawn

I love how at 20:00, while their bases are beeing destroyed, more withers beeing spawned and all, the calming music Rubedo plays in the background. As if there was some order in this Chaos.
