When installing an 830 into a Cessna 172, there is a MAP (manifold pressure) probe. Given that the prop is a fixed pitch prop and the MAP is not something that the pilot typically cares about, my mechanic is hesitating on drilling into the intake manifold. Will the lack of that value inhibit other features or information from the 830? Is there a valid reason to not put a probe into the intake manifold?

You left out the 1st step. How did you program the jpi to show 38 gallons as the full tank amount? Every time you push full fuel it goes to 38 gallons which you programmed in to the JPI originally.
    Please explain. Thank you

      Hey there,
This process is outlined in the Pilots Guide available on JPI's website (www.jpinstruments.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/PG-EDM-730_830_851_740-Rev-F-TB2.pdf). See page 56 at the bottom. It's also demonstrated in one of the JPI training videos (th-cam.com/video/a8P15IPU9bc/w-d-xo.html) at about 5 minutes in.

Is there a reason you did not install the three way switch FF/BOTH/EGT that JPI provides?

      Hi Joel,
It is installed, just above the trim wheel, you can see it at 26:00

I have a JPI830 for my TSIO 360 with the FF. When flying i get the amount of fuel used but the 72 gallons tap off stays the same. I tried trouble shooting with JPI and local mechanics to no prevail. Any suggestions?

      Hi there,
I'm not sure I fully understand the issue, can you try and articulate a little further with some scenarios.
