One is competition and the other is prefference.When i was doing karate i was 20 kilos up with much more bulk in my arms.Now i do parkour and i am much slimmer but more toned,also more tolerant to pain and stress to the muscles. Dont get it twisted people.Its always good to train your body but ask yourself first what you want to achieve with it.

It's not just about size, which still Bunstead has quite a bit of. Even looking too shredded, too defined or having very high peaks can appear exaggerated and cartoonish-like. Imo, athletic good-looking physique can tolerate a couple of underdeveloped muscles or body fat.
I think we’ve stepped into a middle ground territory because the athletic body you mentioned is bigger than what used to be athletic aesthetic now it’s big but not insane , before the body of athletic would have been the beginner lifter we consider today
