I'm trying to remember where I saw this. Was it on one of the episodes of season 1 of Adventures with God? For some reason I'd thought it was on one of the more recent DVD deluxe editions.
WP Films okay, thanks! I've seen Adventures with God back when it first came out, but I'd forgotten this was in it. It's good to know that my memory of it being in a deluxe edition was right, too.
Werner Sunkel either that or you have far too small an idea of who God is, if you've tried to put Him in far too small a box. He is amazing beyond everything we can fathom!
dagman85 wait what? Hahaha the pagan constitutional building many call the church which is not the ecclesia is putting God in a box. Your statement is exactly my point to pastors lol. Ofcourse God can work inside that building but it doesn't mean I'm wrong. Heck God can work at a satanic meeting. My point is the building many call the church is not the church and its a hindrance to many. Read his book you might learn something brother
dagman85 I'll pay you a million bucks if you can show me the hierarchy clergy system in the lives of the early church and in the new covenant new testament gospels. You won't find any. We are a priesthood of ALL believers. The hierarchy system used in pagan temples called church's are demonic. Can God use it YES ! Should we promote it ... hell NO !
Werner Sunkel I'm not interested in that money or in trying to find a hierarchy clergy system in the early church, because I don't believe it was there. I do believe that they had overseers of particular areas, and servants (a.k.a. deacons) selected to make sure widows were fed and taken care of. Finally, they had apostolic leaders who helped to make decisions about doctrine and related issues, and who did much of the teaching. I think the danger that we can easily run into is that in reacting to legitimate problems with how a group of believers is walking out their faith, we can sometimes overcorrect and push too far in the opposite direction. There are churches out there who meet in a building and make excellent use of it. There are church networks that have a loose hierarchical structure that actually manages to empower rather than disempowering the individual believers in each of the congregations. These things are not inherently bad just because they have been abused in the past. Some very wise people I've read (G.K. Chesterton comes to mind) or heard talk about how Christianity is many times made up of truths in tension. That is one of the reasons I appreciate the Adventures with God and Questions with God series, as they explore some of the subtleties in topics that many believers tend to view as black and white. I'm not interested in getting into any sort of debate on topics like this in TH-cam comments, as it's too easy to misconstrue tone and intent. I had misunderstood where your original comment was coming from to a certain extent, but I feel like I have a much better sense now. Blessings to you, in Jesus' name!

Both! It's in the Father of Lights Deluxe Edition, as well as episode 2 of Adventures With God. This is a clip from that series.

Pagan Christianity is the best book ive ever read. I knew the church Building with its practices was demonic and the book proves it. Love George Barna
