The Mesto - Burletta stands out among Bartok's compositions - along with the 1. movement of his Piano Concerto No. 1 - and this is quite a remarkable performance. Bela Bartok was a master of improvisation, but not exactly Joseph-Maurice Ravel's equal at orchestration.
