I have been a long time advocate for using Topaz DenoiseAI with .ORF files from my EM-1 Mk2. Even with base 200 ISO files this filter added crispness even when I reduced its sharpening strength (which did if I planned further artistic sharpening during processing). I have the latest Gigapixel AI from Topaz and its DeNoise module operates like DeNoise AI with one big problem…limitation on selecting the DeNoise model. So, I think you struck upon a great additional development tool from Topaz, but I would suggest the actual DeNoise AI is better for its flexibility. In my case I find that the “Low Light” model in this tool can be excellent, but I find occasions to use all of the various models in Topaz DeNoise AI Let’s hope Topaz continue to develop their DeNoise app. They appear to be pushing Photo AI on all their old users like me. I want that to happen about as much as I want to trade my Olympus/OM and LUMIX cameras for iPhone photography.
Thank you for your remarks. I use Gigapixel (newest) in which there are several modules which effect both denoise and sharpening, and they work even if you set the scaling to 1x, then it needs no enlargement. I also use Photo AI, which is very versatile and excellent, however I sometimes compare the results in both programs and it is unpredictable which one will look better. So i is worth experimenting! Best regards!
Thanks for the comparison!
