      That's a great question! None of the coverage I've read includes the terms "AI" or "Machine Learning". I would say, from my knowledge of how such things work, the final offside determination is simple geometry: whether a playable part of a player's body over the line. That doesn't need anything advanced.
      But, as far as building up a model of where all the players are on the field, and detecting the moment the ball is kicked, synthesizing data from all the cameras around the stadium, it wouldn't surprise me if that is relying at least in part on some AI/ML. But that's an educated guess, not based on reporting.
