    It's funny I think you are first person I ever saw teach the drill that you call "The 10 TOES drill" long time ago, now I am seeing all the online hitting gurus showing that move, like they created it. Reminds me of brazilian jiu-jitsu, guys used to create moves in NY with Renzo Gracie, those moves would be seen by guys in Brazil visiting, they go home then the move ends up back in America and people would say this guy in Brazil created this when we saw that move a year earlier and had already named it by the guy that created it. My son calls that the "Antonelli Drill" !

    Good stuff, i tell kids to work on their swing on their own time as well if they really want to improve. Not just during team practice.

      That's great!!! Thanks for watching!

      Hi Kevin. But the reason these kids get into bad habits is due to the fact that they are practicing on their own. You should be working with the kids to explain the proper way to do these drills and to correct swing characteristics as was explained throughly in Matt’s video.

    I agree, the way to produce the maximum amount of power is to meet the ball on its trajectory. If you hit the ball at the wrong angle the percentage you miss the flight path is that much less power you transfer to the ball and it becomes wasted energy.

    The problem is that most people don’t have any common sense these days to understand that it a “DRILL”… I get a kick out of how dumb some of these people are that think that actually think that your gonna swing the same way in the drills as your game swing. They just can’t seem to understand that it’s actually a drill and that it has to be exaggerated to get the player to start swinging correctly… anyway keep up the good work Matt 👍

    Hi Matt, I m interesting in purchasing Building The Elite Swing for my son who is 15 years old . At check out in PayPal is asking for Coupon Code?

  • @l4s3rz89

    I used to hit relatively close to somewhere between 70%+ of the pitches I was thrown in game but in between seasons something changed in my swing and I accomplished less contact and when I did get contact it was a ground ball with not much power behind it. Does anybody know any drills other than this one to help get my swing right again?

    @davecj10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Matt, interesting question. Would you change your approach against a submarine sidearm pitcher? I know this rarely applies, but would the release point/trajectory warrant a change in bat angle?

    • @Ninja-ou2by
      @Ninja-ou2by 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. No change.

    • @SolitarySoldier
      @SolitarySoldier 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      davecj10 it shouldn’t. I know this is gonna sound like common sense but just think keeping that shoulder in and going the opposite field to see the ball longer. Now if he makes a mistake over the dead center middle of the plate take advantage and hit a shot in the gap

    • @AntonelliBaseball
      @AntonelliBaseball  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wouldn't change my swing just approach. Thanks for watching!

      I would say not particularly since that’s not the style of pitching you’re going to see very often. Just my two cents

    I’m just sort of an active player I’m a leadoff batter so I’m fast and I just swing for contact and power depending on what pitch I get so I’m George springer technically

  • @jonathanrouse2039
    @jonathanrouse2039 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can keep your teacherman bat flip shoulder drop step out off balance nonsense. All you are doing is trying to create a launch angle , but you are making holes in the bat path to the ball. You can not use your hands in a swing like that. And your hands take the bat to the ball. The down at contact finish high put the backspin on the ball just like a golf ball. That's how you hit line drives. That's how you drive the ball.

    With all due respect, You’re making the point for swinging down because that’s what the idea was behind “swinging down”. It was to compensate for bad habits of collapsing and lifting, aka modern day “launch angle”. As you said, “overemphasizing” and “exaggerated feel”. With that being said, as a coach, I don’t emphasize either swinging down Or launch angle swinging up. And as a coach/scout, if it’s what I’m “looking to see”...I’m looking for a level swing through the zone
