I love my new Extang Xceed folding cover and the turn knob that helps reduce theft significantly... Also read a lot of reviews of the Bakflip MX4 having quality problems. I don't have any water getting into the back of my bed now, but I used silicone at the very front where the tie down straps go into and the seal of the bed on the front... never a problem with water now.
So how you guys work with the lower trim xl trucks. Shows how you dont need to spend the extra on an xlt or lariat to have a good looking and performing truck. Thanks for all the great ideas!
It leaks like hell Ford sold me this crap with my 2019 F150 for $1100.00 love my truck don't buy this cover there are better ones out there for half the price..
Have this cover on my Titan XD. Does not leak a drop. I’m in south Louisiana and we get a lot of rain. If it’s leaking it isn’t install right or something.
I used silicone on the very front seal and where the strap models go and have not had a drop of water in the back of the bed of my truck so far... using the Extang Xceed cover... and have found that it is much better construction than the Bakflip MX4.
could spring loaded latches like the two at the rear be installed at the front? I did that with my old soft folding cover and complete removal was even easier. it took it from a "bah, that's too much bother" to a "no problem" endeavour. then we could load our motorcycles!
@@Energetic_Ballistic_Solutions I got the latches at Action truck accessories in Moncton NB Canada. Funny that five years later you ask me this because I just got a new Tonneau cover and I simply transferred over the latches to the new tonneau cover. This is the third or fourth tonneau cover I have done this to.
You opened with saying it provides full access. The way those clamps work, you would only have full access if you took the entire cover off the truck, right? Would’ve been helpful if you had given us an actual demo, like folding it up and showing how the tailgate closes. You have to reach in and unlatch both sides to open it up? This thing looks like a nightmare.
I just bought this two days ago and installed it today. It's snug against the tailgate with the weather stripping. The tailgate opens and closes with ease, but once you secure it, you might have to slide/push it back a little so the very edge clears
I'd hardly call this a "review." You just read Extang's PR fluff and gave us the jillionth installation demo on TH-cam. Nothing about real-world performance, e.g., weather resistance, noise, etc.

All nice and pretty but, didn't see any weather proofing, what's preventing water from getting into the bed from under the cover?

once installed on an F150 the remote tailgate wont drop .

I went ahead and did the above and all good. those thumb screw clamps are time wasters
I don’t understand. You spun the cover around and installed the cover backwards?
If that’s what you did, how do you latch the back?
