- This seminar is focused on providing useful advice to evaluators to write an article for the Evaluation Journal of Australasia. The seminar will explain the types of articles the EJA accepts, the process from submission through to publication, and how to structure an article. The presenters give participants tips on what reviewers expect to see in an article, and pitfalls to avoid when writing an academic article for the Journal.
• Why publish?
• What can be published in the EJA? Academic articles, practice articles, book reviews, review articles.
• What happens to my submission? The process through peer review to publication.
• Who reviews my manuscript and what do they expect to see?
• What’s the difference between an article and an evaluation report
• Can I just turn my evaluation report into a journal article?
• How do I structure my article? Essential elements of a strong academic article.
• Does presentation matter? Attending to style, referencing, and formatting.
• What should I avoid? Abbreviations, dot points, old literature and more.
• What about ethics?
• Should I describe my positionality? And what is that anyhow?
• Using social media to disseminate your work.
You will have learned what they need to do to write and submit a good article for the EJA.
The facilitators are all part of the EJA editorial team. Between them, they have written, read, or reviewed thousands of academic articles.
