i think im 687 of these views. i listen to this every time i unpack in a hotel room, and i travel a lot. their energy turns my mood around no matter how bummed or tired or lonely i am. whatever's happened between them, i hope they can make it up someday. money isn't important. laughing this hard with someone you riff off this well isn't something you can buy. or replace. believe me.
I've listened to it as much as you I think. It's my favorite 45 minutes to listen to ever. I named my kitten Paw F Tomcats. PFT is my favorite person ever. He actually wished me a happy 50th birthday on Playing Games with Jimmy Pardo.
ThisIsErdoS Tom and Paul had a falling out during a project they had worked on for Television... I think it was Comedy Central. It must have been really, really bad seeing how Tom never spoke about Paul, or mentioned his name after the falling out. He's only dropped a few references to some other people, and "bad friends". Sucks, I know. PFT and Tom were great together.
I spent a week at my best friend's apartment in Seattle. We had never talked about this vid though I've listened to it countless times. While I was falling asleep on her couch for the night, she put this on the TV. It's a favourite memory of mine now.
I stumbled upon this comedic gem from Dragon Boy Suade videos. The ad provides so much material for them to work with, like lions feasting on a large fresh kill discovered. Some jokes are below the belt but they can get away being funny AF. Haven't laughed so much in a long time.
Comedian Joe DeRosa once performed at a Gathering of the Juggalos. He later did a stand-up bit about how he bombed there, and how frightening the entire experience was.
His contact (a 40-year-old in full clown makeup) drove him to the site in a seatless van after they met at a certain location in the woods. That isn't charming, it sounds like the opening scene of a horror film.
update: this year they were given bracelets with the hatchet man incorrectly drawn on (no hatchet in his hand), and pendants with “juggalos” spelled incorrectly (JUGGRLOS). also, headliner skitz raven bailed on his contracted time, evidently due to hostile messages sent to his girlfriend via facebook - apparently, a subset of family believes he “dissed” juggalos in the past and this was the impetus to the nasty messages. strange times!
It happens. I wish people would push a reunion on them, though. I've had fallout with friends where the people surrounding us didn't quite understand the issues we had. The stuff that went on between them was deeper than any of us know, and we shouldn't push it on them.
Shangri-La is a fictional place in Tibet from the 1933 novel "Lost Horizon" by the British writerJames Hilton. Haven't read the book but apparently it's a mystical, harmonious place here people age very slowly. Hilton isn't very well known today but the term/concept he invented has some real reach if it could be applied in this context
Underrated moment at 11:15. Tom and PFT take a minute to marvel at how fresh this comedy must be, then they play the clip announcing Jimmie Walker, Pauly Shore, and Roddy Piper. Tom says, "hold on a minute..." and then there's a couple seconds of silence as you're invited to take in what you've just heard. It's a shame that PFT butted in at that point because I suspect Tom would have let those names hang like farts in the air for quite a bit longer.
Never thought I'd defend juggalos but they do raise a lot of money for charity and they seem ok. I mean, I've known a few and they were good people. I can think of worse groups/fans despite finding the gathering funny as fuck.
ZyxthePest Hahaha. Totally. I just think it'd be funny if they had an ad from one of those years rather than this easy target. Would they rip into either of those guys as 'typical hacks' who you'd likely see at one of these events, for instance. I don't see anything wrong with performing at an event you're being paid for, barring some extreme examples like a KKK rally or something like that. Attacking JJ Walker or Paulie Shore or attacking the quality of the event for having them perform seems like a bit of a low-blow, for these guys. Attacking Piper for being a wrestler, also a cheap shot. Roddy Piper, when you can actually understand him, admittedly, is actually pretty funny, and Mick Foley is another wrestler turned comedian who is well-spoken, intelligent, and funny.
Pretty sure Paulie Shore hasn't been funny since 1992, so I'm actually OK with them going off on him. Walker, I don' know much about outside Good Times and I'm gonna have to agree with Paul on Piper. The guy was in They Live, a kickass movie, but something tells me his stand-up skills aren't the best. To me, they're going off on the insanity of the event, more than anything. The fact that people are willing to live around complete strangers for four days, totally unsupervised. There's something rather silly and hilarious about that.

Much respect for I.C.P. They aren't musically talented and are both profoundly unintelligent, but they have managed to create a $300 million+ business from making shitty mix tapes in their friends basement. They accomplished that with no radio play, without MTV, while being named "Insane Clown Posse', painting their faces as clowns and rapping about the most nonsensical, violent and vulgar material, with EVERYONE against them...Now they have created a multi-million dollar record label and merchandising line, a whole occultic mythology that they they created , and an entire subculture that today has become one of the most persecuted groups of people in this country. As much as you may hate their music.. ALL music is subjective, but every single I.C.P. concert is a great show and it is hard to argue otherwise. Every single audience member chants "I.C.P.!" over and over again and the loyalty they have for this band is incredible, and the fact I.C.P. treat their audience as family and are constantly doing new things to engage with their fans. Not to mention all of the charity work those guys do. I know these guys are comedians and are probably mostly joking (how do you not get I.C.P. by now?, they've only been making music for 30 years) REALISTICALLY, EVERY ARTIST AND FAN OF 'TRUE HIP HOP' CANNOT HATE ON I.C.P. THEY ARE MASTERS OF THE INDEPENDENT MUSIC INDUSTRY AND HAVE BECOME INFAMOUS WITH THE ENTIRE WORLD AGAINST THEM. They hit #4 on the top 200 billboard charts while being "the most hated" UNDERGROUND music act...that is really fucking impressive. In the future I.C.P. are going to be recognized as one of the greatest music acts in history. Not based on what YOU think they sound like, but based on the reaction that they constantly generate from their fan base, as well as the reactions of their critics. A truly great band doesn't even need to have your approval or anyone else for that matter and they have much more going for then than just the music. I.C.P. are great, you just don't get it yet.
Just because something is popular or successful doesn’t mean it’s not above mockery or critique. He makes jokes about Matt Damon and Good Will Hunting too, and he likes them

great comment
This is not my hotel room comfort listening, but I do have hotel room comfort listening, and this is an excellent choice.
It would make me so happy if they would do comedy together again. Funniest duo of all time.
I listen to this every time I travel, nothing beats this, and the follow up call with The Hachetman 😂
I've listened to it as much as you I think. It's my favorite 45 minutes to listen to ever. I named my kitten Paw F Tomcats. PFT is my favorite person ever. He actually wished me a happy 50th birthday on Playing Games with Jimmy Pardo.
I think I've listened to this two dozen times over the years.
A legendary moment in broadcasting.
The uncontrollable bouts of giggling at 20:26 are the best.
i'm in tears

Who's not friends anymore??

Tom actually thanked PFT on the final episode of the WFMU show
OMG IM CRYING SO BADLY I HAD TO TAKE MY GLASSES OF- I HAVE BEEN LAUGHING FOR TWO INUTES IM SOBBING

oh god i haven't laughed that hard in a long time. when Paul says, "Fly me over the stage so I can throw up on Pauly Shore," i absolutely lost it.
Another Detroit phrase only fits: ''I'd buy THAT for a dollar!''
oh i got this thing coming up - i gotta get fired from my job. i’m gonna shove my boss
Nine years later, this is still the funniest thing I've ever heard.
Listening again for possibly the 100th time. It's just the best.
Any updates on this fourteen years later?
The all time greatest moment in Best Show history.
Someone was asking for a clip to introduce someone to TBS and this was my suggestion. Perhaps my favorite bit from the show.
everytime someone mentions Juggalos I feel compelled to listen to this again
HELICOPTER RIDES
Everytime i remember this clip i HAVE to watch it. It's so good
Same!!!
"Helicopter Rides!"
"FEATURING SUPERSTAR'S KEN SHAMROCK!"
"Bully."
The fact that Paul said that under his breath made me lose my shit.
I love how they lose it every time the guy says "helicopter rides!"
Does no one else wish death upon Ken Shamrock for bullying Paul F Tompkins?
I stumbled upon this comedic gem from Dragon Boy Suade videos. The ad provides so much material for them to work with, like lions feasting on a large fresh kill discovered. Some jokes are below the belt but they can get away being funny AF. Haven't laughed so much in a long time.

@@MrJohndoakes FAMILY. FAMILY. FAMILY.
@@LakeFX I don't know what that means either...
Tompkins and Scharpling are two of the funniest people in the world and I’m so glad they jam together
I've only ever heard Paul F Tompkins talk to Scott Aukerman, this is too outside my comfort zone. I GTG.
I come here to think sometimes. I love it here
Plenty more, including YOU! If YOU go!
Welp, new favorite video.
For some reason, PFT saying "GWAR!" at 4:45 is still my favorite part of this. It kills me.
This is the hardest I've laughed at anything I've ever heard in my life.
I love how they're in genuine denial that Jimmy JJ Walker is actually at this thing
Somebody finally isolated this. Yes.
STEVEN SENT HIM THAT. O.M.G.
Well, I know why you're here.
Take me over the Fresh Ass Comedy Tent! I wanna spit on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper!
The Stank-Ass Comedy tent? Much better, imo.
I hope PFT and Tom do something together again. This is pretty good back and forthin right here.
Twenty minutes in and no one can breathe
JESUS CHRIST MR. UNIVERSE!?!?!?! WAS ROSE AROUND TO HEAR THIS?!?!?!
The first request was Steven lol
Cringe.
Amazingly, as of 2023, this event is still being held.

soooooo wierd
Coincidence??! Or is it!!?
His soon? What’s a soon?
Justin Coleman I think she meant son.
Laughing through their travel plans might be the best part.
Juggalos view the Gathering 2009 as one of the best ever gatherings of all time. Alot of then are sad at the current state of gathers
I'll never not listen to this any time it comes up.
update: this year they were given bracelets with the hatchet man incorrectly drawn on (no hatchet in his hand), and pendants with “juggalos” spelled incorrectly (JUGGRLOS).

strange times!
"It's just a helicopter ride away!"
"Right, well it is the freshest thing around, I hear."
"Well, straight up."
Still hoping PFT and Tom will bury the hatchet on the final Best Show. Hatchet pun intended.
What was the issue between them?
It happens. I wish people would push a reunion on them, though. I've had fallout with friends where the people surrounding us didn't quite understand the issues we had. The stuff that went on between them was deeper than any of us know, and we shouldn't push it on them.
This festival sounds like a real life version of the movie "Idiocracy" haha.

Classic gold! Da Best Show ❤
Paul has the best laugh 😂😂😂
He really does have the best off air laugh. See Comedy Bang Bang....
18:56 THAT- THAT LAUGH OF TOM
No, 20:23 is the one you want
It's gone. It lasted until 20:36ish and then they laughed so hard they cried.
August 6? Well now i know why they put it on hiatus...
Andy Wood on Probably Science said this clip was the funniest thing ever. He wasn’t wrong!!!

I think all i heard is Greg and Mr Peanutbutter.
Gonna be a bunch of angry white kids coming for these guys.
Greg apparently went to the Tenth Annual Gathering of the Juggalos
Yep XD
gamzee went there too.............nah JK! he hates icp.

"Steven sent me this"
WWWHHHAAATTT
I can't believe this is true. I wouldn't ride a bus if the driver weren't wearing a uniform.
A few comedians they may actually have some respect for have performed at gatherings, such as Andy Kindler and Brian Posehn.
In Posehn's defense, he's quoted saying "A paycheck is a paycheck".

Thanks. Now I can't unsee it.

No music sucks, brother. Music is subjective. Most bands that I hate fill huge arenas at their concerts.
well said. hate their music, cannot deny their clout. no other subculture has their following.
I don't see any worth in someone else having lots of followers, why is that relevant to me at all? I still have to hear their laughably shitty music
Thanks,Violent J.
I love PFT but ICP bashing is silly. They made it big with no major labels, video play, or radio presence. That's pretty good work.
