    I’m so happy you did it. Let the healing begins you are a positive person so I know you will be up on your feet soon. Speedy recovery doll. I’m just almost four weeks post op.

    Did your insurance cover the procedure?

      Hi there... The only thing insurance covered for me was the umbilical cord hernia repair (however, due to my medical plan, not all of it was covered... BUT, my HSA covered the rest [amen]).
      The surgeon may say they'll just add it in, but nothing's free & on the back end, you end come up with a bill. If they say they'll cover it in your consultation, get that in writing, #Trust.
      Otherwise, I negotiated a discount that if I paid in cash and got a nice little chunk taken off. So I made weekly/bi-weekly cash/debit card payments.
      Some you can negotiate with them if they think you'll go elsewhere or they'll compare 'apples to apples' on a consultation amount you got from another facility. Others offer local employer discounts, or like me, since I work in the medical field I got a discount. So honestly it can't hurt to ask.
