This came up on my recommendations this morning (well done to youtube). Watched the first two episodes just now and really enjoyed them. Ill watch the rest later. Hope you are planning some more epic walks. The day you tried to get to 30 miles was a real test! I’ve done some long days but never 30! Nice work.🙏
Tim Iredale haha thanks Tim. I was bleeding shattered that day, but surprisingly full of beans the next. It was so freakin hot! Glad you liked the vid, hope you were inspired to do more reps in the gym haha. Stay tuned, 4 more episodes coming up.
Setting off to hopefully complete the South downs in 4 days tomorrow wild camping and lugging all my gear. Thanks for the info and these videos. Had no idea you did it over a series of weekends. Those breaks must have been nice on the legs. I will hopefully be cracking it out in a onea though.
Haha I know tell me about it. Loving this weather and was perfect for my first thru hike! Stay tuned guys, there’s about another 4 episodes coming and thanks for the kind words too! Cheers!
You got a hill right at the point when you wanted to hit 30 miles. Now isn't that the way? They used to do that to us in Aldershot on battle marches - get all the way then take the finishing line away. Fabulous effort though amid inspiring country. Take care. Mark
Guessing you started in Winchester? Was the first half tough? I live and walk by cocking so what I class as the last part of the first half. But planning to walk it soon.
Yessaa started in Winchester. The first half east bound was the easiest, but the second half was surely the most beautiful. The miles after Southease were my favourite!
Sorry bud, I've disliked your video because your choice of music to accompany the idyllic countryside is a thoroughly detestable irritating noise, same for part one. The gentle perfection of that Southdown landscape needs gentle melodic music ,not the clangarous cacophony of inappropriate noise you chose to ruin it with. It makes these videos unwatchable, because turning off the sound leaves no commentary to inform the viewer. I won't even bother to try part 3.

You looked shattered, great effort. I watched this while at the gym warming up. Good inspiration. Cheers Tim.

Amazing how parched the trail is with all this hot weather. Did you experience any rain at all Russ?
No rain what so ever across the entire 100 mile hike on both weekends my good sir. I was very lucky, but it was a freakin scorcher.

You're in my neck of the woods now!
Was a lovely section of the trial that! 👍👍👍
How many hours did the 30 miles take you?
How is phone signal on the trail for things like google maps etc
