For real. One pitch on the corner would be a ball, then one in the exact same spot would be a strike. The starters hit their pitch counts in about tge 4th or 5th. These international bracket games have been the most intense baseball games I've seen all year - better than the college world series or MLB.
They are standing over the plate because umpires have been calling the white on the opposite batter's box as a strike. I don't understand what you guys are complaining about. As long as both feet are at least touching the line when you hit the ball you're fine. And the line is close enough that your toe can actually be on the plate while your heel is on the line and it's still legal.
The announcers explained that it’s up to the ump to decide the batter’s foot placement during the pitch. And it’s only an illegal bat if the foot goes completely out the box and is flat on the ground
No clue, even when the chalk has been rubbed away the umpire is supposed to keep the batter’s feet about where the line would be. There were multiple times where Venezuela was far out of the box when they hit the ball and should’ve been called out
@@Ocholovelaceit’s out the box even if not there and umps should know this. A batter can not be that close to the plate. It’s the reason for a batters box even when it disappears.
