Tanner Freeman That story is correct, but as I'd heard Ben say in an interview he did that thing with the mic to emulate Kurt Cobain! It took me a second to figure out what he meant with this interview though, and what Ben seems to be saying here is that they decided to go ahead and name *this* current incarnation/line up of his band Breaking Benjamin because he still had some old BB stickers left lol :)

Nathan Sanders Jason was one of the original members of RED. He and Ben have collaborated with each other for years now. Ben was a co-writer for RED's song "Shadows". You can really hear Breaking Benjamin's sound in the song too. Jason is in the videos to RED's song "Breathe into me" and "Let Go". He continues to write and produce RED's albums as well.
Hahahahahah. Some of this stuff was pretty funny. They also sound wayyyy different when they talk than when they sing. They also act like nice people rather than being one of those crazy guys in other sorry bands.

Ben owns the rights to the name Breaking Benjamin as well as all the music. What I think he is saying is that the name was still there, merchandising (hence the stickers) still there. New songs, those sound like Breaking Benjamin songs. To start over with a new band name would mean that they would start from the bottom again and work their way up again. Which in turn would force them to separate themselves from Breaking Benjamin, which then he would only make royalties from the previous incarnation of Breaking Benjamin. Local radio stations where I live had stopped playing their songs all together up until the hype was built for the new version of the band. Imagine if they had to go with a different band name and a record label went forward with making an album, chances are that a good percentage of fans would be lost because it isn't Breaking Benjamin. It's all business and all about making the most profit since musicians loose out their arse these days
I love this band even more now. I am super near-sighted and love cats, and have a friend that is allergic to cats. Did I mention that I love this band?
