Great stuff, now after doing all that how would we go about adding new music. How would that process be like now. Esp from an iTunes user who would use the iTunes add feature. Thx in advanced
I should quit iTunes because yes it does bog down Serato. But the one reason I keep it is security. For some weird reason, my Serato will not have a particular song or playlist I know I had 6-12 months ago. But when I go into my iTunes, I’ll see working playlists that I created over 5 years ago (I know lol). So when I have a big event, I like having my playlist backed up in iTunes because I know my system won’t randomly lose or delete it like it happens in Serato. Prob a memory thing but iTunes holds me down in that regard.
I was advised to keep all my music in one place, so I have a master folder with my entire DJ library, including tracks from old CDs, DJ pools, and more. However, when I’ve tried adding music purchased from iTunes to this folder, I ran into issues-duplicates, reformatting, etc. In the process you outlined in your video, are your iTunes purchases still stored in iTunes, or do you change their file location?
Thanks for the video! I’ve been tied to iTunes for years now! I’ve changed out two MacBooks since and it’s been a total nightmare every single time, duplicates and for crying out loud the mix up with my own library and ‘matched’ songs has been atrocious. Thanks again.
Yeah this video was made exactly for me lol. I appreciate you bro. I’m not entry level by any means but I’ve been trying to get out of using Apple Music for years now. Quick question. Does this work with playlist folders from iTunes too? And what are your thoughts on Lexicon? Part of the reason I like iTunes is bc when I’m making playlists I can actually listen to the song to decide if I wanna add it to a playlist or not. I don’t understand how some do their workflow completely in Serato. I hate having to load the track first. And then that adds an artificial stat to the play count. Realistically, Serato needs a facelift also. But it looks like lexicon allows you to easily play tracks, add cues and actually have that transfer over to Serato. I ask groups and people are only using it to delete their doubles. Not what the thing is actually capable of. I just need to bite the bullet, back up all my stuff and start trying these things out for myself. My fault for the long post lol.

I tried to use iTunes with Traktor and songs were missing for no reason just couldn’t get it to work!
Although iTunes has never been an issue for me and I am guilty of still using it with all DJ software...
