    First rule of conflict zones: Stay with the NPC group. 2# Rule: Focus on targets attacked by the NPC group. 3# Rule if the NPC group splits, kill targets of your group as fast as possible so that the other group will get support by your group. 4# Rule: When your group is getting wiped, dont be the last one. Jump off. 5# Fighters can work, but typically they dont. 6# Do not always tank, this means reduce damage output below the level of average npc dmg-output, so your shield have time to recharge. #6 if you have a big bad boggy on your six, dont panic. Fly through your NPC group and typically they will take the aggro from you. 7# as one on one can be fun, this is the least efficient way of group based combat.

    I'm painfully new and got a mission to go after some fighters in a combat zone. Showed up and blew up a ship just to get absolutely wrecked. I cannot wait to do more. Thanks for the video. Love this game

    First time trying combat was in one of those sites because it's the only type of mission in my chosen system.
    Now I know why I did nothing spectacular.

    In my experience, if you earn allied status with desired faction, you can get worth 10M mission for 90 ships destroyed, usually I get 3.2M combat bonds so literally I get 150K per ships destroyed. IMO it's still profitable somehow. I'm running FDL with 4 medium pulse laser and a huge multi-cannon.

      EX, agreed but the respawn rate in conflict zones are great for a non-agile, lumbering giant with its cargo bay open, while its huge turret and fighters go to town at the same time as its collector limpets - put it this way, u opened up a brand new material gathering narrative for me, thnx

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, but please, for the love of all that is good, please don't use turrets. The ONLY reasons to use them is if you're the one person that uses multicrew or you're using one or two to apply an experimental effect (like corrosive on multicannons). You'll do MUCH better with gimbals as gimbals are already 30% less damage than fixed with turrets another 30% less damage than gimbals. And yes, they track but they also miss their target quite a bit so the notion that higher time on target equals faster kill is absolutely untrue. The Vette is the most maneuverable large ship, please don't waste that by going with turrets.

      EDTutorials by Exigeous . Thanks for advice Ex, I’m a bit away from affording a ship where I can launch fighters from at mo’ (currently filling my engineering materials up). So I’m ignorant on what NPC crew members can do, hence I was planning to use the mothership as a turreted weapon platform whilst I do some dogfighting in a fighter, but if you reckon it’s best to stick with fixed and/or gambled weapons on the mothership I’ll do that - are NPC crew good enough to trust with combat in such situations? Bear in mind I have not indulged in combat much so my rank is v low, I.e. I won’t be able to recruit skilled NPCs.

      I bought an Eagle and pimped it out as much as I could for a cheap assassination ship. I’m going to try to go to high zones in it to just see how long I last.

  • @DanY-mj4gl

    First time I got into a conflict zone it was a high intensity, and I only had a newly bought python with not too great upgrades and mediocre weaponry. Was lucky enough to find a farragut on our side, as well as take out a few ships before my canopy screamed at me and I had to run. Needless to say it's not as hard as everyone claims it to be. Unless spec ops arrive, at that point just run.

    I didn't know they were that dangerous. When I was collecting combat bounds for Yuri Ishmaak I always was pissed of by the enemy Corvettes and them using shield cell banks so I couldn't kill them easily.
    Always kill the big ships first and try to shot enemys that your NPC's are shooting already. This way you can get an NPC Deathball, making it much easier to stay in a fight.

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uh, then something is wrong - as that's how you get paid in Conflict Zones, is by the bonds you get that you then turn in. So how did you get credits without bonds? You don't get the credits directly, you have to cash in the bonds to get paid. For me I'll always take a Krait Mark II as I find it much more fun to fly than the Vette, I have a build video covering my favorite build for it.

      You know what - I got the EXACT same thing today on stream so I now see what you mean. There is clearly some bug going on - what's weird is after we cleared the zone we got more ships and I DID get bonds - and many in my squadron have been doing conflict zones the past few days as our factions are in war in several systems. As such I think it's just a new and another bug. Sorry I doubted you ;-)

    Wait... fighting in conflict zones helps in power play??
    I tend to fight in conflict zones for the fun these days, but before mission stacking was nerfed, they were also extremely lucrative!

    • @Exigeous
      @Exigeous  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, you earn merits if you attack power play pledged vessels. And yeah, they used to pay so great when we could stack - sadly with the upcoming mission board changes I fear credits in general are going to be very hard to come by after Chapter 4.

    • @ToriYamazaki
      @ToriYamazaki 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed. They need to re-increase (de-nerf?) payouts for massacre missions... seriously, I will never understand how one of the most dangerous things you can do has one of the lowest payouts. And they were recently nerfed silently. A good massacre mission used to pay around 25m for 108 kills. Now the best is only 10m for 90 kills.
      Anyway, thanks, I will try to see if I can get a conflict zone to contribute to the merits after the reset today.

    • @ToriYamazaki
      @ToriYamazaki 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm... what's the trick then? I went to an enemy control system that was in Civil War. I joined the side working against the controlling faction in that system in the conflict zone. Killed ships, no merits.

    Hey Exigeous, theres a subject I'd like to see covered, might get you at least a few videos out of it. And that's Player controlled systems. How do they work, how does a player group acquire them, and what's the benefit to having one. And what effect does this have on the controlling players and surrounding galexy? I haven't found anyone who's done this topic and would love to know more about it.

    These are fun, but they are terribly unbalanced, or incredibly misleading to say the least. First couple of CZ missions I picked was early in the game, the missions were ranked "Mostly Harmless" and boy oh boy did I struggle with my Imperial Eagle, somehow I finished the missions, got blown up couple of time, but managed to end up with good profit, but not enough to really be worth it at lower levels. I really wish they could really tailor these to more appropriate ranks, because they are indeed fun and challenging.
