Your Mom is amazing! She can name all the keepsakes in her home, and who gave them to her. I look forward to her home tours every year, thank you both for the inspiration!
I watched this tonight and it made me smile how proud she was of everything. Not only her collectables but everything that she thought was pretty. When she said for you to guess where she got the new decor on her mirror then said with a slight giggle in her voice "Walmart" it actually put a lump in my throat. She loved what she loved with great pride. I see that in you too Maymay. I hope this memory makes you smile. It's like when I dream about my mom, I feel good for days because I got to spend time with her again.
Maymay, this is my first time being able to "visit" with your sweet Momma. I know she recently passed and I share in that grief because my Momma passed unexpectedly in March of 2021 (COVID). She was 82 yo. I don't care how old they are but it's a whole different kind of pain seeing your Momma laying in a casket. You look so very much like your beautiful Momma and it's darling to see the mannerisms, sense of humor, style, and joy you two shared. My heartfelt sympathy is always there for you, even still. I was surprised to find I'd saved a vm message from my Mom so I delight in hearing her voice whenever I want to. Your Momma had an exquisite ability to adorn her home for the Holidays. My dad had a heart attack yesterday and this morning they are transporting him to Little Rock to get ready for surgery on Friday. So feeling kind of anxious today. So I hopped on here to put him on the Church prayer list and saw this email. And it was such a blessing to me. I just love your family. You guys remind me so much of mine. we live in Tampa and its a long ride to Arkansas but I don't mind. Every year when I go home we go right by your place Maymay and always hope I will get to stop. We always stay at the exit with the Bass Pro. Maybe on my way home I will be able too, we will see. Last two years I was sick when we made it close and I did not want to share that. LOL. We are leaving late this year because I got an sinus infection so I hate that I'm not there for my Mom. Anyways, just wanted to say thank you for all your family does for all of us. I have the same Santa, Sleigh and Reindeer set as your moms on the dining room table. Mine came from Sam’s... for several years in early 2000’s they would do a slightly different version each year.. my grandmother has the set one year prior to mine and her set only came with one reindeer, and the runners of the sleigh are gold .... Sams carried a Santa set and a snowman family set and maybe more ...:) ... beautiful pieces!

It is so delicate I'm like your mom. I pack them with care. I have a Christmas video showing the set on my fireplace. I think you might love to see it. You and your mother are so funny. @maymaymadeit The plates that you have on the kitchen table? We have the same ones that we use at Christmas at our lake house in Wisconsin. My mom found them years and years ago at garage sale and every year that we’ve been up north for Thanksgiving and Christmas we use the plates. She doesn’t have a full set, but there’s only 3 of us so we don’t need a full set. We were discussing using versus not using special China and silverware and we came to the conclusion that it’s better to use it and love it and yes, it might break, but if it’s been well used, it’s worth it.
