That is insane, I thought it was superficial. Still so much that wasn't explained. Backstories was also poorly done. When making a movie like that, watch LOTR, and see how it is done hehe

Yeah. That would be AMAZING. Sadly, the people who helped make the best WoW media have long since quit the company. Because working for Blizzard sucked. But, there's plenty of talent out there. I'd love to see Thrall, Arthas, Silvanas or, Jaina's backstory told in some sort of mini series. There's a TON of great stories littering the Warcraft lore.
What nods to WOW fans? They cut out the Burning Legion completely and made just Medivh using the fell as the villain. They removed the demonic element for no reason
They didn't care about WoW/Warcraft fans at all, they shat all over the lore. Completely screwed it up. I don't want a series or a follow-up, I'd want a full reboot. The lore actually deserves being followed, and the first movie failed completely.
I don't understand how hard it is for hollywood to understand that if you want success with an adaptation, there's just one OBVIOUS priority: changing as little as possible from the source material. If change is needed, consult with the author as much as realistically possible. It can't be that hard. Like "Oooh I'm so excited to go see all the changes they made to all the stories I've loved for 30 years", said no one ever.
I think that's one of the main reasons why Warcraft isn't a good fit for cinema. To say the lore is vast is an understatement, and tying so many threads into a coherent story that stays true to said lore would either mean you make a trilogy for each of the three major wars, _or_ you make it a series, which I think would suit it better. I think no matter how long a film is, it would still turn out to be a wide but shallow puddle.
how can they when they already screwed that story in the last movie. how is arthus meant to march an army of undead on dalaran causing the mages to put up that bubble around the city in the 1st place if the city is already floating in the sky like it is in the movie?
Arthas or Illidan would be great stories to tell, not sure why you want to stay in the RPG game lore. If we got a Lich King movie I’d see it 10 times I’m sure
Arthas and Illidan is the obvious choise. Those could be like 6 movies easy. There are also lots of other interesting prequel stories, like creation of lich king and dark portal, (arthas, and warcraft 2016 tie in) war of the ancients, (illidan tie in... and the world itself) "Malfurion transformed a wooden arrow into a tree that devoured the demon as it grew." just imagine seeing this.
It completely shit on all the lore of the warcraft games, though. I don't want to see a part 2, I'd want to see a reboot. The first movie screwed up so much.
@@heavyspark813 They didn't go to WoD, they went back to Warcraft 1, from the 90s. The way WoD's lore is done is also way different from both how the movie did it as well as how it happened in Warcraft 1.
@@heavyspark813 WoD had no effect on canon timelines. That's why it's an ALTERNATE past. It's one of the separate timeways. They went out of their way to say this on several occasion. Though the theory is, they weren't ORIGINALLY going to do that and WoD WAS going to set up the movie. I think they abandoned some ideas with WoD and scrapped a lot of content though.
@@LethalOwl My issue was the orcs being tauren sized didn't make sense, they're not giants. They are slightly bigger than humans but if you want a reference point watch the human and orc fighting in the MoP cinematic. You can see the human easily throw the orc over his head. Also Orgrim isn't a Frostwolf orc in the original canon of the games and novels. He is of the Blackrock clan, that's WHY his friendship to Durotan is so suspicious to Blackhand and Gul'dan. The clans didn't mingle a lot before the time of Thrall's Horde so it's weird to them. There are other little details. Like when, where and the circumstances of Garona killing Llane and Stormwind is supposed to be destroyed by the Horde that's what LEADS to the Second War and the Warcraft 2 game and expansion.
They could literally do a trilogy for every expansion.. except Shadowlands, we don't talk about Shadowlands. They could also fill in lore holes and tell stories how the trolls became elves, the old gods, etc... there is soooo much content.
I never finished SL, just did 6 mo sub but stopped playing after 4 or so. Why was the rest of it bad? I feel like I always come back to wow at the worst expansions, I came back at cata, bfa and SL and missed every other expac after Lich King
3:11 Well if you f it up like Halo then no wonder it gets canceled. They had no idea what the game even is or ever played it. Warcraft has so many stories to choose from. Making it from WC1 story to Fall of Lich King would be awesome. Has a start and ending. Basically starting small like Marvel movies was and ending big bad falling.
Starcraft would be so hard to make a movie. You'd have to do a story from one person's perspective and then switch. It'd end up basically being a copy cat of a few other genres. Not to say I wouldn't mind seeing a Starcraft series the lore of Starcraft isn't as good as Warcraft for movies.
Movie - COOL, Minis series - OK, Television Show - EPIC I mean spend a whole season per expansion going through the main questlines on a group of characters along with the epic NPCs throughout with their own story lines intertwining with each other, mid season episodes to be the most iconic raids and the end of a season the very first prepatch quests for what is to come. They could do 20 episodes per season and still get the main questline done and if they need fillers, well hell, there are the side quests and sarcastic NPCs that could be visited. I, for one, would be stoked to watch the show going on about things i've done in WOW
Funny, a lot of people don't know or remember that this game is why people started saying "epic" a lot around 2005/2006ish. As in "epic items" I remember how that slowly caught on after the game came out. I mean there's been over 240 million accounts created and there's only 8 billion people on the planet right? Not hard to imagine the game has heavily influenced other games and online terminology.
The illidan novel was something else. War crimes etc. all awesome. But man a story from illidans side in the live screen. I’d scream. 😅 I’m watching any of them tbh though.
Don't forget the greatest warcraft filmmaker Hurricane, as his short videos on raids, and his "World of Racetrack" netted him an official position within Blizzards media team and his release for the Lich King raid on the official Blizzard account made gamers everywhere happy.
I hope they make the sequel to the firdt movie and set up good characters and introduce the series to new potential fans. Also please set up a WCU, Warcraft cinimatic universe.
all i can say is that it needs to be lore accurate an making it honor the game an not piggy backing off the back of it an being something kinda accurate an chopped up an screwed
The first one was just about humans. It explains that in the second game the kingdom of Stormwind retreated and asked for help. I never understood as a kid how the humans lost and still had an army. 😂
Given that the first Warcraft games was “Orcs vs Humans” it made sense to also have mostly just them in the first movie. Though the lore and stories go waaaay further back than just the first war.
I was hoping when they are going to do a sequel or series and they are working on it which is great. I hope they make it much better than the first one.
So a couple things: 1. Stay true to the lore! Don't take too many creative freedoms, and tell the story. 2. Keep it as the story, don't mix politics in with it. Warcraft has an intricate weave of their own politics and trying to mesh our real life politics will only hinder any adaptation. So keep the characters and story as is, don't white/black wash, don't make characters lgbt when they were never supposed to be, essentially KEEP CHARACTERS THE SAME! Otherwise your movie is gonna bomb. My thoughts on how to approach this: If they are going to do this film style, i think they need to do as the MCU did and clearly define separations between storylines but tell them all. For example: When doing a story about the elves, Title it "Warcraft Elves: Well of Eternity" or something like that to differentiate it from say "Warcraft Humans: Corruption of Arthas." That way the movies can follow the timeline even if they aren't made one after the other. Then they can do as the MCU did and converge at a later stage after the timelines were established. The MCU did this by establishing the lore of Thor, Iron man, Captain America, etc because they clearly labeled these movies as those specific heroes and then converged later in the Avengers. If they are doing this as a TV series, i think that may be better. Warcraft has so many intricate plot points that all get woven together that's its tough to capture everything needed in a movie format.
Wacraft 1 & 2 weren't that big in the beginning. What really made Warcraft and WoW later so HUGE, was the Story of Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and then The Frozen Throne. Thy needed to make an awesome Movie about the story of Artha and then expand on that. Maybe later add backstory titles, like many movies did. For example: LotR didnt start with "The Hobbit". They took the most interesting parts of the story, made a trilogy of it and after the succes and many fans did the story before LotR. Most of the people started with Warcraft 3 and didn't know anything about the lore. The lore kept coming to us through visions, dialogues, and flashbacks, but it was a great main story of arthas that was easy to understand. It was enough to know we are humans, fighting orcs, suddenly undead come out of nowhere and we discover more and more about the reasons, as the story continues. Fighting Mal Ganis and so on. We learn about the Burning Legion WAAAAY later and it didnt matter. Interesting story, interesting characters and interesting world. Now its maybe better to make a TV-Series, i dont know. Maybe Season 1 Human Campaign, Season 2 Undead Campaign with the Fall of Lordaeron, but we will see
The movie failed because they were in my opinion to focused on promoting their expansion which is one of the worst ever. Secondly it was half-assed let's be honest. So much more could have happened, so much more could have been explained, and it could have been made for all audiences and not just hardcore fans. Yes I do agree with some of the other commenters. You can't forget The Man! The baddest motherfucker there ever was. ARTHAS! The day he was born the very forests of lorderon whispered his name! If you love his story like I do, hearing his father say that in the intro to Wrath gives you chills! 🙌👏👏👏
This is huge. the warcraft universe is fantastic IMO and there is a ton of cool things for writers and producers to explore and bring to life through cinema. I can't wait to see what they bring us!
I don't know why the first movie got so much hate? I absolutely loved this movie, the visuals were insane. Seeing stormwind and the orcs that was was so cool.
Smart idea, games no longer generate enough revenue to fund future projects, blizzard would make more money producing Warcraft movies or adapting some of the Warcraft books to film.
I would LOVE to see a Warcraft series with the cinematic trailers graphics. Not a live action, not anime. A Blizzard cinematic quality. Please do this in my lifetime.
i’ve got so many ideas for what a movie or tv series could be. i think arthas’s story fits perfectly in a movie style plot structure. there’s a perfect cinematic arc there. as for a tv series, i feel that for “alliance”, the story of the stormrage twins works perfectly in a 3 season or 3 arc (think arcane) structure. and for horde, a tv series following thrall would be fantastic. personally although i love the stormrage twins i think id like to see something to do with thrall a little more. he’s got a special place in my heart.
If Blizz just went the Arcane route, not only would it bring in more fans, but itd be way more sucessful than a Live Action, and could have the OG VAs for it to make it better
One reason that most game adaption movies fail is lack of lore in the movie. Warcraft has a vast lore of all the characters. Also, one thing that could be done to make the series greater is film on movie that focuses of the Horde then make a separated movie of what happened in the movie form the Alliances perspective.
ppl never understands that to get Arthas in any capacity you need some kind of MCU approach you don't start with Arthas you finish with Arthas in an "Endgame'" kind of movie so stop trying to push Blizzard to make that Arthas thing right away it won't work and you will be utterly disappointed
id love to see the Wrath of the LK Movie as the next installment. Picking up the narrative years later would make a great opportunity to recast and adjust
BRING ME WARCRAFT! I don't care about the movie critters! If they didn't like the movie let them keep their opinions and let the rest of us enjoy this cinematic masterpiece! I have been waiting for years to see what happens next in the story and I am sure there are tons of people who want to know! In fact, I wish I could take part in this project. Even if it's a tiny part, I would be happy and honored. (As long as I don't have to do anything questionable to contribute, of course!) So I say, bring on the Warcraft!
Blizzard is so short sighted, they want any novels or cinematic adaptations to be surface level advertisement to get people to play their 20 year old game which ends up only appealing to current fans because its niche and you have to already know about Warcraft to be remotely interested in it, little do they understand that an amazingly written and executed cinematic universe and well written series of novels will actually bring new fans to their franchise.
If you want a successful WarCraft movie, you need Thrall, Jaina, Uther and Arthas. The problem with the first movie was that it started with lesser known and quite frankly less appealing characters. If they just set the first movie in the WC3 timeline, I think the entire first movie could have been told through a few flashback sequences.
Honestly it'd be foolish if they made a movie and didn't have Arthas star in it. The guy's arguably the most iconic and popular character, and the stories he was involved with are also the most nostalgic/liked by the fandom. And even for other audiences, a sinister knight with a cursed sword/dark powers should be enticing enough for casuals too.
First movie: Arthas as a paladin....Uther....invincible horse...horse dies...kel'thuzad poisons grain...stratholme...muradin frostmourne...kills dad in Lorderon. Second movie: Arthas becoming mad...Sylvanas...Illidan mad skull of guldan...they fight...frozen throne...Sylvanas mad Third movie: Prequil...Gul'dan, Nerzhul...Naga..Nightelves...Blood elves
there is no controversy with games being made into movies or series. the issue is when the writers take the source material and try to change it to however they feel it should be.
I'm a HUGE fan of the first movie, however I think the flaws for it is 1), hiring a relatively inexperienced director for such a MASSIVE undertaking such as Warcraft. 2), DON'T CHANGE STUFF TO MAKE IT MORE DIGESTABLE. Dumbing stuff down for the masses takes away from the art that Warcraft itself is. I've been hoping forever for a Warcraft 2 and I hope there is one. Do it properly though!
A serialized show might be better in the long run. Each season can be based on one of the expansions allowing them to keep some core characters from season to season for continuity (and contracts) A 10 episode arc is roughly three 2.5 hr movies anyway.
One of the reasons Jones worked so hard, & so well with Warcraft is BECAUSE HE IS A FAN of the games, & of the story...most of the other games that went to movies or shows flopped b/c ppl saw them as nothing more than money grabs w/zero heart in creation. Ppl who disliked this movie went into it without understanding that it was set in the time of Orcs vs Humans, the world BEFORE the MMO, World of Warcraft, was created. So ppl were disappointed, & didn't understand where the story came from. If anyone can make Warcraft, & hopefully expanding into WORLD of WARCRAFT (which is DIFFERENT from WARCRAFT) movies, its Duncan Jones.
I think what I would want to see is a series going over the second war. Starting off with them, fitting shitting off stormwood city, and then having the perspectives of stormwood survivors Sprawl within the horn and some of the other leadership, like doom hammer and Gul'dan. You would have to cover the siege of Kaz modan ( can mostly be hand waved as a report of stageing forces and we sustained losses, but the siege has begun) foreshadow the capture of the red dragons, and then reveal that in the crossing of the great sea into south shore. On the human side, you have the survivors point of view, dealing, with not being believed that the horde is a threat, and then the perspective of Alliance court and the infighting. That perspective would have to cover elf involvement and appathy As well as Alterac's betrayal. Key moments I would want to see, would be the assault on stormguarde the civil war against Alterac the siege of silver moon and the assault on lorderon (capital city) barely being repelled. I think a good template would actually be the modded wc2 orc campaign In warcraft, 3 reforged. Other stories might be more popular or easier to break up but i get put off by series that jump their timelines all over the place.
I don't know anything about Warcraft but I really enjoyed the movie. I even bought it when it came out. I hope more movies get made, not just one more.
To be honest. A series like Game of Thrones on something like HB0, Netflix, or Amazon would be a far better way to tell this story than a movie every few years.
If Game of Thrones was possible, Warcraft has the potential for many seasons as a TV show. I think it would also be better in terms of doing more of the lore justice.
I really like the Blackhand the Destroyer movie version because its better than the WoD Design, and When the Chronicles Vol 2 was released they used the Warcraft Movie design which makes him the official look of the Main Universe
I hope this happens there is soooo much that can be done with Warcraft in cinema. The game was a one point the most played game in the world! There are lots of character arches you can explore. The game itself already has great storylines. Each expansion of the game could be its own movie or series. World if Warcraft has a HUGE following and has literally set the bar in terms of game play, player community, and repeat playability. There is so much that can be done, I'm honestly surprised there has been more cinematic warcraft content produced with how good CGI has become.
This is a good franchise that has so much storyline and can easily avoid politics that has destroyed so many other franchises to date. Keep the Rich Story and tell the tales of Azeroth and World of Warcraft. Keep to the known story, bringing it to the big screen and they cannot go wrong.
the first movie should of come out at the height of the game. While it came out when wow: legion was out which did really good, It had left a lot of people salty with Wow: Warlords of Draenor so they probably expected something similar especially when Guldan was such a prominent figure in the game and the movie
"Loved by many diehard fans" I'd think genuine fans of Warcraft lore were not pleased with the movie at all. They skipped years of lore in a matter of a few hours, completely rewrote some aspects, like making Dalaran a flying city decades ahead of time, as well as ignoring the Burning Legion and much more. Not to mention that this just took a few days within the movie. Completely rewrote several characters too, like Khadgar, Lothar, Garona, etc.
the key word here is ''diehard''.Yes we know the 2016 movie isnt too faithful to the source material but at this point ppl(me too) will straight buy it anyway just make the sequel alreadyyyyyy
You can blame the STUDIO that forced Duncan Jones to scrap almost an hour of work onto the floor b/c they saw that a movie going over 2hrs was a bad idea - yet there are plenty of movies out there that have the 2 1/2 hr tab that no one complained abt having to sit through. And you're quite full of yourself to say that anyone who enjoyed the movie isn't a true Warcraft fan. Gfys
@@spiffy74 GFYS too, bud. Learn to read. You completely misquoted me. I never said "anyone who enjoyed the movie isn't a true Warcraft fan." I said genuine fans of the lore, not fans of warcraft in general. Lots of new scrubs in WoW don't give a fu*k about the lore, they just want to see big orc smash human and call it a day. If you love old warcraft lore like I do, the movie is garbage aside from being a fun action flick. As a fan of the LORE/HISTORY, it's a travesty that ruins any chance to continue the story along the lines of the lore in the Warcraft universe without completely derailing in a different direction. No Arthas Menethil. Just like the sequel trilogy is to Star Wars, or The Rings of Power is to Lord of the Rings.
This needs to be handled with care. I don't believe that this franchise can be done in a trilogy. The amount of lore that this universe has could easily be 6-12 movies, and that would only get you to the wraith of the lich king.
Every adaptation, *EVERY* adaptation, needs to be made by people who understand and appreciate what they are adapting. Older video game movies, The Witcher series, the Star Wars sequel trilogy and half their shows, Halo, Minecraft, and the list goes on... These are what you get when the people behind the scenes only care about the name recognition; not what the material means to the fans. I absolutely have my problems with the Warcraft movie, but it's clear there was at least a lot of passion for the source material. Now that Blizzard has been pulled out of Activision's ass, hopefully they can get their shit together and actually do this right. A series would definitely be the way to go as proven by the success of Fallout.
"It's hard to bring a game series to TV/Cinema" - Every director/company making intentional changes to divert from original story and established lore of said game series to "market to their agenda" and upsetting the people that wanted to see the actual lore and then complaining about it being hard.. Why not make it actually hold up to it's own lore for once before complaining about fans not liking their stories?
I have been waiting for Warcraft 2 for years, as why the Halo series failed was because there was already one out that was actually better called Red vs Blue.
I honestly think Warcraft and Starcraft is one of the best universe there is for movies and series. The stories there are extremely good, and engaging. It is kindof niche with some of the edgy stuff like Demon Hunters, but also very familiar with orcs, humans, elves, scourge (walking dead, game of thrones, lord of the rings) I think the story of Arthas is on par with the epic scale of lord of the rings. And it is definitely better than game of thrones which have a lot of similar elements. And it is also way bigger, like you can focus on arthas, but there is a whole lot with the the creation of the lich king, ner zhul, and the demons aswell. All of those things can be side notes in a potential Arthas triology. And those things ties in to other stories, like Illidan, burning legion, Draenor, orcs, Dark portal which also can be really good movies. Especially Illidan. I also think a Arthas movie would be WAY more popular then the Warcraft movie we got. Also now the game is more popular in China with a bigger potential audience.
They should make Warcraft 2 in the style of a series, to follow after the movie. Like GOT. It is the best option in my opinion. Then Season 2 can be Warcraft 3 and season 4 Frozen Throne. Then on to Burning Crusade and Wrath. Each a season. 6 or 8 eps. It allows for enough space to show everything without it getting too long. Warcraft movie felt rushed, every fan can agree. A series from the start would have been best.
Was it the best movie adaptation ever, no, not even close. Was it a fun movie with some cool VFX, absolutely. Do I own it on Blueray and watch it at least once a year, you bet! I enjoyed it and would love to see another one.
One problem was they changed quite a bit of the lore that didn't make sense to change and only made it more confusing to new people than the og story would have. One example of this is Garona killing King Wrynn. Why change the reason for her assassinating him? This new bit makes 0 sense, "kill me to bring peace, it's the only way" is just dumb. And where is Mannoroth? He should have at least made an appearance. I can bring up so many other things but this is enough.
I'm a wow lore nerd. I hated the movie. They cut out the orcs drinking Mannoroth's blood, didn't cover Mannoroth at all. Drinking Mannoroth's blood is so iconic that they ever re visited it for the Warlords of Draenor cinematics. They didn't introduce Ner'zhul who would have been a foundation to build on from the first movie leading up to obviously covering the Lich King which is the direction the movies would be going in. I expected it to be a lot darker and was hoping it was going to be like the original plan when Sam Raimi was going to direct it where it was going to be on the level of saving private Ryan war depiction. Give me an R rated wow movie, not some PG13 one. Look how well deadpool does.
from what some of the filmmakers said, it was death by a 1000 papercuts. So many issues with other people, not invested in the game themselves, making decisions for the movie. They couldn't even put mannaroth's blood in the movie as the explanation for the green orcs, it's just... why change so much lore that we all know about? If they can't tell the story correctly then the movie WILL fail. There is no other option. Follow the lore. Easy. If not, then failure.
Warcraft was the first movie I ever walked out of the theatres and asked for my money back. I was grossly insulted in how they treated The amazing and immense friendship and mentorship Of Medivh and Khadgar. How poorly their story was missed. looked over and tossed aside really ate at me. but the full turning point was trying to say Thrall was Fel infused and corrupted and that is why he was green. was too much for me and in the momment I stood up and left. That was a shot to many
The real Warcraft started with the games W1 and W2 with the expansion pack. And that's where the Warcraft 2 movie should pick up. Many of you don't know this, but W2 had a great story and the scope of the conflict and what happened after the fall of Stormwind was epic. Unfortunately, they changed and ruined a lot of things in the movie, so I'm afraid that W2 will ruin the story too.
Storytelling is EVERYTHING. Stop screwing around Blizzard and do the Arthas storyline with Henry Cavill as Arthas. There done your welcome.
perfect fan cast but he's too old now

They didn't care about WoW/Warcraft fans at all, they shat all over the lore. Completely screwed it up. I don't want a series or a follow-up, I'd want a full reboot. The lore actually deserves being followed, and the first movie failed completely.
yeap
@@Heath86 like the completely nonsense box that opened a door and there was a chick in it
completely irrelevant
What you mean this shit wouldn’t had existed if wasn’t for the wow fans
@@beckvitt2997 I agree. It should be a series.
If they ever do another movie please make it about Arthas and his fall from grace. A story like that might draw more casual viewers.
how can they when they already screwed that story in the last movie.
how is arthus meant to march an army of undead on dalaran causing the mages to put up that bubble around the city in the 1st place if the city is already floating in the sky like it is in the movie?
Who is that
If they make a sequel it should be about the Second game, and if they make another sequel, it should be from the Third game.
@@TheMynigTell me you're not a Warcraft player without telling me
@@AmyBluesoul that’s very observant of you, maybe that’s why I asked who that was?
Arthas or Illidan would be great stories to tell, not sure why you want to stay in the RPG game lore. If we got a Lich King movie I’d see it 10 times I’m sure
Arthas and Illidan is the obvious choise. Those could be like 6 movies easy.
There are also lots of other interesting prequel stories, like creation of lich king and dark portal, (arthas, and warcraft 2016 tie in)
war of the ancients, (illidan tie in... and the world itself)
"Malfurion transformed a wooden arrow into a tree that devoured the demon as it grew." just imagine seeing this.
@@mangomariel I'm almost positive they'd "Dragonball Evolution" Arthas or Illidan.
@@mattopalooza plz no..... :(
Don't you do this to me.... the 1st film was seriously underatted
It completely shit on all the lore of the warcraft games, though. I don't want to see a part 2, I'd want to see a reboot. The first movie screwed up so much.
@@LethalOwl To me the lore was because they went back to WOD and they redid the time line as a result of it.
LOVED Warcraft!
I really hope they do focus on a story revolving around Thrall, and the events of the second game.
agreed
1:12 Super "Mare-ee-o" brothers? Mar-ee-o !
They could literally do a trilogy for every expansion.. except Shadowlands, we don't talk about Shadowlands.
They could also fill in lore holes and tell stories how the trolls became elves, the old gods, etc... there is soooo much content.
No, shadowlands could be upgrade with a film, make all the plot hole repaired, it's easily possible to make it interesting
I never finished SL, just did 6 mo sub but stopped playing after 4 or so. Why was the rest of it bad? I feel like I always come back to wow at the worst expansions, I came back at cata, bfa and SL and missed every other expac after Lich King
Warcraft 2 let's go!
And then Warcraft 3!
How about a Starcraft movie?
Hell... it's about time...
Henry calvin for Arthas 🙌
What about Chris Hemsworth
The illidan novel was something else. War crimes etc. all awesome. But man a story from illidans side in the live screen. I’d scream. 😅 I’m watching any of them tbh though.
We need to see Doomhammer become Warchief, then his betrayal and capture. Then Ner'zhul's story so we can see the origins of the lich king
Don't forget the greatest warcraft filmmaker Hurricane, as his short videos on raids, and his "World of Racetrack" netted him an official position within Blizzards media team and his release for the Lich King raid on the official Blizzard account made gamers everywhere happy.
Expect for asmongold, who enjoys nitpicking loot that doesn't match timeline drops.
I hope they make the sequel to the firdt movie and set up good characters and introduce the series to new potential fans. Also please set up a WCU, Warcraft cinimatic universe.
Idk why blizzard hasn’t launched their own studio yet… with their quality storytelling and cinematics, they could become a giant
My son. The day you were born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered the name, Arthas.
all i can say is that it needs to be lore accurate an making it honor the game an not piggy backing off the back of it an being something kinda accurate an chopped up an screwed
Warcraft 2 needs to have more Elf screen time
It needs all the races to have some screen time
The first one was just about humans.
Now when theyve seen that they can make really good game series (Arcane and Fallout), they HAVE to do this! Please!!!!
Warcraft has aged well. I actually enjoy watching it more now than initially. It is an awesome movie and it needs a direct sequel.
Yaaaaaaaaasssss! Warcraft I is underrated.
I was hoping when they are going to do a sequel or series and they are working on it which is great. I hope they make it much better than the first one.
I honestly think if they involved Sylvanis and others as well that would be cool, they could make it so cool and attractive to non WoW players as well
So a couple things:
My thoughts on how to approach this:
If they are going to do this film style, i think they need to do as the MCU did and clearly define separations between storylines but tell them all.
I really liked that movie. Hope they make another.
Oh say it's so 🤩
I have been wanting a sequel to Warcraft since the day I saw it in cinemas. This is great news!
Warcraft 2 should mirror Warcraft II: The Tides of Darkness
Awesome if true
If a movie as bad as this gets a sequel than there is hope for better movies like .... just about every movie ever made.
Please God no. Atleast do night elfs, Illidan, Arthas... something 😢
i loved the movie really hope they wil be another
I would love a Lich king wow movie.
Travis Fimmel, Lothar, said the original script for Warcraft was very good but as produces do is get in there and fix that problem.
Blizzard made upwards of 200 million in the last month just selling a mount in game lol
I love warcraft
I have 1 word for how you make a great Warcraft movie.
Arthas
The problem with the Halo show was that it wasn't about the Halo game. They used the Halo setting, The Halo hero and did they're own thing.
id love to see the Wrath of the LK Movie as the next installment.
(As long as I don't have to do anything questionable to contribute, of course!)
So I say, bring on the Warcraft!
This movie is criminally underrated 😢
I wish Warcraft had a series of movies like Harry Potter has.
Just buy the rights to Rav the Avatar's hardcore journey & release that.
yes
First movie: Arthas as a paladin....Uther....invincible horse...horse dies...kel'thuzad poisons grain...stratholme...muradin frostmourne...kills dad in Lorderon.
Second movie: Arthas becoming mad...Sylvanas...Illidan mad skull of guldan...they fight...frozen throne...Sylvanas mad
Third movie: Prequil...Gul'dan, Nerzhul...Naga..Nightelves...Blood elves
with the modern blizzard what will come out will be a "ring of power" or "the Accolyte" level of series/movie
there is no controversy with games being made into movies or series. the issue is when the writers take the source material and try to change it to however they feel it should be.
Starting off with them, fitting shitting off stormwood city, and then having the perspectives of stormwood survivors
Sprawl within the horn and some of the other leadership, like doom hammer and Gul'dan. You would have to cover the siege of Kaz modan ( can mostly be hand waved as a report of stageing forces and we sustained losses, but the siege has begun) foreshadow the capture of the red dragons, and then reveal that in the crossing of the great sea into south shore. On the human side, you have the survivors point of view, dealing, with not being believed that the horde is a threat, and then the perspective of
Alliance court and the infighting. That perspective would have to cover elf involvement and appathy
As well as Alterac's betrayal.
GOD I hope it doesn't go WOKE!
Let us pray. This is what all of fantasy world lovers need.
The fact is, warcraft has too much lore to ever be faithfully adapted to a movie format.
YESSSSS!
Finally 🎉🎉
the first movie should of come out at the height of the game. While it came out when wow: legion was out which did really good, It had left a lot of people salty with Wow: Warlords of Draenor so they probably expected something similar especially when Guldan was such a prominent figure in the game and the movie
"Loved by many diehard fans"
I'd think genuine fans of Warcraft lore were not pleased with the movie at all.
It's not any worse than the wow team ret conning stuff for every expansion just to make the expansions fit.
the key word here is ''diehard''.Yes we know the 2016 movie isnt too faithful to the source material but at this point ppl(me too) will straight buy it anyway just make the sequel alreadyyyyyy
I never said "anyone who enjoyed the movie isn't a true Warcraft fan."
I said genuine fans of the lore, not fans of warcraft in general.
All you have to do is stay true to the games
It is kindof niche with some of the edgy stuff like Demon Hunters, but also very familiar with orcs, humans, elves, scourge (walking dead, game of thrones, lord of the rings)
I think the story of Arthas is on par with the epic scale of lord of the rings.
I can bring up so many other things but this is enough.
the problem with the movie was that it felt rushed introducing characters. gotta start slow and then expand
While I was watching Arcane I kept thinking Blizzard should make a series with this animation studio.
