      |That's the problem. The U.S. (and many other countries, mine included) are not being held accountable by the people they absurdly are ostensibly presumed to represent. That's on the citizens of given country for allowing it to happen as much as the big bad govt. are evil wrongdoers for getting away with what they are let off the hook for. Praying for a peaceful solution sounds good to me, but otoh it's kind of an empty platitude if people aren't willing to do something to stop these unjust murders and exploitation, etc.

jemineye02 Nice words but here's a tip: The praying is not working. Hasn't worked for any of the multitude of countries destroyed by (your?) psychopathic excuse for a government, and this upcoming prayer session will be time wasted on your part. Sorry, but it is true. I honestly wish that praying did work, but the facts are the facts. You have lost control of YOUR government and they are running the show at the behest of billion-dollar corporations and their owners. Good luck.

It has been planned for some time and Wall St and the bankers stand to make a fortune.
Most of the public and the Military stand with Maduro
Maduro is hated but the opposition and especially Guaido are hated far more.
Remember Venezuela has been subject to sanctions and economic sanctions by the US which are the major reason for it's economic malaise meaning very limited capability to sell it's oil and most importantly import needed food and medical supplies etc.
China, Russia, Turkey , Iran and Venezuela have formed a block trading oil in either Yuan, Rubles or Gold to escape the currency control and sanctions by the US of oil transactions through the petro Dollar, Venezuela even tried a petro Cryptocurrency to sell it's oil as the US was preventing it from doing so by blocking Dollar transactions to Venezuela.
This of course is a threat to the Petro Dollar and the US Dollar being the World standard, meaning US Bonds losing their attraction and to attract foreign investment in Bonds the interest rates would have to rise sharply creating huge economic problems for the US especially with their huge tax cut.
The US sent their real life Killmonger (Black Panther reference ) into Venezuela weeks ago, he ran the Sandinista campaign and the death squads and was responsible for mass murder in Nicaragua, so that tells you where this campaign is going or is expected to go.

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.” ― Smedley D. Butler, War is a Racket: The Antiwar Classic by America's Most Decorated Soldier.

Perpetual war is indeed the empire's task. Persia, Greece, Macedonia, Rome, Britain---- at the peak of their empire's power were obliged to wage perpetual warfare in order to maintain their status as empires. The USA, after WWII, was and still is the defacto empire with only Russia offering some sort of counterbalance. So the USA needs to create situations where perpetual war can keep its empire going. Larry says that the only way to bring peace in this world is to topple the empire. AGREE !!

Let the people of that country figure it out by themselves what to do and how, otherwise they will never learn. We did it democratically in my country, the situation had to come really bad for people to realise the root of our problems, but it is possible. Any country who interferes there will be blamed by the mess, but people will still fail to see that the problem is socialism. Let them eat grass if that's what it takes, but do not interfere.

Not until the Security Council is abolished will the UN live up to its original billing. The veto rights of the permanent members (the US has more total veto's than the rest put together..) effectively halts any meaningful activity under a UN-guise. The security council basically tethers the world to 1945 and the way the world looked then. I was born into the age of the USofA; I hope not to die in it.

Well. I agree in everything Wilkerson says, but he is wrong about Colombia being the one country where Venezuelan migrants go. They went to EVERY country in South America, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, AND Colombia. I live in Uruguay and we have a lot of Venezuelan migrants.

The UN Charter says there should be no interference in the internal affairs of UN member countries
"Democracy never needs to be imposed; it is tyranny that is imposed" - says the nation who imposes an American-groomed impostor in Venezuela.

I tell you what would help. A bit of pressure to the Bank of England to release Venezuelans Gold back to them, and allow humanitarian aid to reach the people of Venezuela. Also lifting the sanctions would help, but I won't bet on that one.

Let me see if I get this right, with all the talk about Russian meddling in the United States, an act that was followed by all kind of sanctions against Russia and the expelling of Russian diplomats from the U.S. How come that after all its preaching against such acts the U.S. has the right to meddle in Venezuelan affairs.

The operative term in this video is "realignment of forces in the world." US did not care about Venezuela before. But what US is trying to do is use this event as a way to identify who are still with US and who is no longer with US. As an analogy in a Mafia Gang operation, when the leader senses that the gang is losing coherence and splitting up, he would arbitrary pick an "offender", true or not, it does not matter, to be prosecuted and executed. As part of the process, he will demand loyalty from his followers to back his action. Anyone who dares to speak out against will be labeled as enemy of the leader. And more critically, any fence sitters will have no choice but to either re-pledge their allegiance to the gang leader or to labelled as the enemies.
So this Venezuela event is just US way to acquire pledges of loyalty from his allies. Anyone who dare not to speak out against the leader will fall in line. Pledge completed.

It is interesting that most everyone cites the Monroe doctrine like it is something that gives the U.S. free reign to dominate the politics of all the american countries. Anyone that believes that needs to read it because it is about non intervention and leaving them to determine their own rule. We should adhere to the intent of the Monroe doctrine as it is written...

Isn't it characteristic that the representatives of the US and its minions (Germany, Colombia, Belgium etc..) were all just directly reading from a script and had nothing to say when the represenatative of Venezuela confronted them when he rightly clarified that international relations would have thought to be conducted under the rule of law ?
