Rowan saying “it’s a race, it’s a race” has lived in my head since I saw this movie in theaters as a kid.
Saw this movie way too young. It’s fucking funny. As an 8 year old it was like 40% funny, 60% stressful. Now it’s 100% funny.
The heart stuff was 100% stress.
And “I’m winning, I’m winning!”
😳👀.... Look a drifta👉💨🏃💨🚝

The reveal of the Barbie museum is one of my favourite hard cuts to a joke in a movie I've ever seen.
The Barbie museum and hitlers car with Jon Lovitz was hilarious. I forget how funny it was.
Why did they use the Barbie doll font for their billboards? I'm surprised I didn't see more little girls and Barbie collectors at the museum
I'm surprised that in my history classes in school, along with "the butcher of Lyon", I was never told Klaus Barbie was a Champion ballroom dancer. That would have put a completely different spin on him for me! LOL!😂
I was crying laughing when I saw it the first time.
@@nancyomalley6286 yrs ago my little cousin came to stay the summer with me and there was this place I passed daily on my way to work call The Doll House in Austin Tx. So I had the great idea to take her so we could look at all the doll furniture and houses and dolls and clothes. I thought it was a doll museum. Imagine my surprise and her confusion when we walked up to the door and i realized an adult store with private dances and toys. The sign on the side of the road and building just says doll house with stars on it. It’s still a funny family story we talk about.
When i first saw the Jon Lovitz Hitler bit, I laughed so hard.
My dad actually thought I was going to die.
This movie is based on an earlier film called "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" which also involved mixed people driving across country to get some money and had a lot of cameos of famous people.
You should mention that this movie is for sure worth to be watched, but Rat Race IS better.
You could call this movie the remake of IAMMMMW
@@gettygermany "Rat Race" is definitely a great comedy, but better than "Mad World"? Nay, I must differ.
@@porflepopnecker4376 I share the sentiment, the ending to Mad World is still one of the funniest I've ever seen while the ending to Rat Race just pissed me off for some reason, I don't know the reason yet but when I figure it out I'll let you know.
I love mad world
"I'm not crazy, I'm eccentric" is a line my family uses often to this day😂
Do they do the growl too? 😜😂🙂
I took a screenwriting workshop with the guy who wrote Rat Race. He was exactly what you'd expect after seeing the movie.
Cuba Gooding Jr blowing the whistle in the players faces when he messed up the coin toss makes me die laughing every time 😂😂
I don't know anything about football so never exactly understood what he did wrong. If he had doubt about who called it why not just flip the coin again.
@@QuayNemSorrI don't know either, but I suspect that's the point of why he embarrassed himself because why wouldn't you just flip again?
Every time I see Cuba Gooding Jr. in another movie the first thing I think of is that whistle scene! 😂
@@QuayNemSorrit landed on tails but he said it was heads. The team that called tails should’ve won the coin toss which would’ve given them the ball to start overtime lol
Based on a Thanksgiving Day NFL game where the ref said the team that called the coin flip called it wrong, there was no process to change that, and the team that won the coin toss won in OT. Rules have been put in place to prevent that from happening again.
This came out when I was 10 and I thought it was hilarious at the time, and you know what, I stand by that opinion.
John Lovett is an absolute maniac for doing that scene with the car and the man with the mustache. I think we all know what I’m talking about. It is my favorite scene in this entire movie.
Even my grandmother laughed at that! And my grandfather was 1st wave on D-day WW2!
Jon Lovitz wasn’t too bad either.
Lead singer of "Smash Mouth" tragically passed away a while ago. What a tremendous talent he was.
Thanks man. Huge weight off my mind
how was it tragic?
@@dareal5401because he died? What kind of question is that?
@@JoshuaBloom01everyone dies eventually, is every death tragic? I think that was their point.
@@tupac1971ever yeah
One of my favourite comedies from the 2000s.
Fun fact: John Cleese's character name Donald P. Sinclair is a play on a real hotelier Donald William Sinclair of the Gleneagles Hotel, which John Cleese and the Monty Python troupe stayed at. John was so enamored by the owner of the hotel that he based the show Fawlty Towers (and his character Basil P. Fawlty was based off Donald Sinclair) off that hotel stay.
I've never seen this movie in theaters, but people i know who did, told me the people in theater laughed their asses off en masse. Once i saw it myself, that scene with John Lovitz at the WW II convention made me ROTFLMAO. I literally fell out of my chair laughing ! Funniest scene in movie history, if you ask me.
The film turned an $11 million opening weekend into a $55 million total at the domestic box office. Even back then those were very good legs. Audiences loved it. Unfortunately, the studio barely marketed it before release so it didn’t open big enough to end up with a bigger total.
The late 90s early 00s were full of comedy movies that for some reason flew under the radar and were forgotten. Some examples are Kingpin, Bowfinger, Waiting, Saving Silverman, and High Fidelity.
Edit: Oh, and a personal favorite, Bedazzled.
Saving Silverman was great.
Oh yeah Bowfinger was awesome!
Another movie that doesn’t get enough credit is Steve Martin’s remake of Sgt Bilko. So funny!
Guys you gotta watch Waiting with Ryan Reynolds. You'll hurt from laughter
Yes, seconded!!
I third this!
OH YEAH!!!! Especially if you've worked in sit down restaurants. Everything is pretty much accurate, save the ball showing game.
No thanks Ryan Reynolds a damn clown
@@jamesmorales4735 you're just upset he didn't want his Deadpool movie diversified 😂
The Genesis of all comedies, 'it's a mad mad mad mad world' a must see.
36:17 that was actually the Mystery Men theme song before it was featured in Shrek!
The music video has the cast in it.
I am that nerd, 🤓
I'm glad I'm not the only one that remembered that. Mystery Men rocked.
@@michaelmartin4874 I love that movie!
It's one of my favorites!!!
@@kylaarmstrong-benjamin8066 It's only problem was coming out 10 years too early.
+1 for Mystery Men
First thing I picture whenever I hear the song
If you guys enjoyed Rat Race then y’all definitely need to see It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Rat Race is literally a remake of it.
Yep
This movie is so dumb but I love it.
"It's a race....I'm winning"
17:40 Jon's double take is perfect 😂
Underrated movie. You’re laughing pretty consistently.
I fkn love this movie. Blaine's scream makes me laugh so hard every time
DUANE STAHP DUH CAR 😂
@@BeardGuy-vz8tn 🤣🤣
When something goes wrong I always say..."You should have bought a squirrel".
My favorite line in this, for whatever reason, is when Jon Lovitz says "I do NOT want to work at Home Depot!"
"It's like the original UFO" ... More like the original MOO FO ... Ok sorry... I had to!! lmfao
Jon Lovitz makes this movie
FINALLY someone is reacting to this classic movie! 💜💜💜
Agreed!!
"I had several Hitler jokes. They were cooking."
The Hitler scene still gets me every time.
When i first saw the Jon Lovitz Hitler bit, I laughed so hard.
My dad actually thought I was going to die.
Saw this in theaters and I laughed so hard the entire time my gut was killing me by the time it was over.
The helicopter pilot's boyfriend is famous actor Dean Cain. The character's name is Shawn Kent.
I had a really rare morning. You guys always take the stress away with some great reactions. Thx.
Feel better!
"Look a drifter lets kill him" always stuck with me
26:07 you guys missed the world map gag 😂
Scavenger Hunt is another wacky comedy but from the 70's.
I love how yall put Curtis in the back lol Such a funny movie that never gets old. It seems like you guys liked it. Glad it won the poll. I know I voted for it!
I FUCKING DIED ROLLING ON THE FLOOR WHEN HE WAS DRIVING HITLER'S CAR AND DID THE NAZI SPEECH, LMFAO!!!!🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
13:34 - FUN FACT: The actor playing the trainee is the same actor who plays the "white guy" in the music video for the song 'Pretty Fly (for s white guy)' by The Offspring.
HA! Never knew that.
One of my favorites! Glad more people are discovering this
wow 6:05 that little boy was in the tv show The new Addams Family 1998 as Pugsley
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Just genius.
Thank you guys (plus one) for reacting to one of my favorite movies. Glad it still busts a gut today.
I love that John Cleese's character is named "Donald Sinclair," the infamous hotelier of the real-life Fawlty Towers.
Ive been watching since before you guys used water marks and were side by side and I must say this was one of the funniest intros 😂
I quote this move an unhealthy ammount. I had just graduated high school and i bought this movie on vhs on a recommendation from a friend. Watched it constantly.
My favorite is probably the helicopter chase. Died when she gave that maniacal laugh. Lol
I love this movie tbh… and actually, the reason Cuba Gooding Jr. was running like that is because in one of the first takes of that scene, he literally pulled a hamstring & finished filming but couldn’t run real well.
Such an underrated comedy! Was a good watch guys haha
The unforgettable hilarious scene that I remember from this movie is the piercing scene where they are showing off their piercings to the girls in the other car. lol.
Haven't even watched the reaction yet & I already know it's a winner. Glad you two are checking out this movie, it's such an underated hidden gem of hilarity

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" -Edvard Grieg (1875)
My friend and I saw this movie when it came out in theaters when I was 15. For months he kept saying to me “remember when his daughter crapped out the window”. 😆😆😆
Rat Race was based on a 1963 movie called It’s a mad mad mad mad world. Also with an all star cast, and that’s one’s even crazier than this one. You should seriously check that one out.
bro... this is one of my favorites, brazilian fan here btw... love u guys work !!!
I feel like this movie is very much forgotten about, which is a shame since it’s hilarious and has such a great cast 😂
My mom took me to see this in theaters. We didnt know what to expect but we were in tears. It was so damn funny. I was exhausted from laughter by the end 😂
btw old movie "Anger Management" Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler, hilarious 😉
I keep saying that up until the brothers take out the airport radar that the events of the movie, although farfetched, are conceivably possible. Once the radar was ripped down, it was in the "no way in hell" area.
One of my all time favorite comedies!
Cant believe you guys watched this movie one of my favorite comedy's of all time ❤
The squirrel lady was kathy bates.
OMG can’t wait to watch this!
Im soooo happy youve done most of my favorite movies 😂 the birdcage, rat race, scream 🤘
oh boy, love this movie, gonna have fun with it for sure
Gloria Allred is actually a lawyer.
She was well known for having that red blazer jacket
I watched this movie when I was younger and the only thing I remembered from it was Rowan Atkinson's "It's a race!" line, seeing this reaction was a nice trip down memory lane
38:19
"Southland Tales" (2007)
It's always great having Mack and Me back in the reactions!
I recommend you guys watch Cannonball Run, very funny movie.
"In The Hall of the Mountain King" always makes me think of this scene!
What scene?
@@biggains1 when Dwane and Blaine sabotaged the radio tower at the airport, and almost got ran over by their own car-VERTICALLY!
The background music was the classical piece I mentioned by Edvard Grieg
My favorite movie that Cuba Gooding Jr. Has been in is Radio
PG 2003 ‧ Sport/Comedy. And Pearl Habor. is acting was at its best along with Boat Trip. 3 top best movies he's done.
Hands down one of the funniest movies I have ever seen lol so many hilarious moments!
Love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
you cant convince me Rowan Atkins character wasn't the inspiration for Borat.
This movie is the funniest ever in my childhood😂😂😂
Great to see Chris's son join you guys for the reaction.
16:46 the brothers laugh immediately, but the guest is thinking, "should I laugh at this?". Kathy Bates is one of the funniest female actors! She also made people think about hobbling, and how women are the devil. Two polar opposites, She is a GREAT actress...
b bbbut mmm mama says
The intro 😂😭
this was my fave movie as a kid thanks for the memories😍😍😍😍
@35:09 that's Rance Howard the father of Hollywood director Ron Howard.
The Baha Men who did "who let the dogs out" also sang the "rat race song".
I love Jon Lovitz, you guys should watch City Slickers, it's a pretty fun movie with a lot of laughs.
I'm so excited for this! Love this movie so much
Was hoping for you guys to do this one!
In 2001 I learned what "Prairie Dogging" was - LOL! John Lovitz is Jewish, which makes his Hitler impersonation extremely hilarious.
The Lovitz Hitler scene will never not be funny LOL
My favorite part of the movie, the whole lead up to it is perfect! 😂
U guys r welcome 4 this movie suggestion.
Comedic brilliance! Loved it 😅
One youtuber said she peed in a beer bottle while on the road. I asked her how the hell do you that. She said with practice.
You picked the right movie, dude.
Personally, I wouldn't broadcast myself screaming "oh no, it's charity!" but maybe that's just me.
I think they meant from the perspective of the characters.
Underrated comedy 😂 love this movie
luv this movie! i introduced this to my sis, she balled her eyes out in "lols" gallore
lol oh wait, brain fart. i think i was the one who suggested this movie to u guys like months ago haaha
So many legends in one damn movie 😂😂
26:01 they have to get the key back
And Jon Lovitz is BEYOND JEWISH
Excellent
I was 11 seeing this in theaters… ahhh what a time the early 2000s were 😂
whilst zany, outlandish things happen all throughout it, there isn't really a build up to anything so it feels like it just flat lines from start to finish
one of the weaker films imo, failing where the original film it was based on succeeded
3:29 😂
21:49 Geez! Nowadays, they have conventions for just about everything.
