I loved her book 'I Dreamed of Africa' when it came out and it has touched me deeply. Only a few books have ever done this and it stayed in my heart ever since. Her love/her story/ her loss created deep-seated tears in me as well. Her love for Africa especially Kenya I share as well even though in this life time I never was there but it is the one place on this earth that gave me one of the most beautiful life times my soul has ever experienced. I can 'remember' still the special light of the sun, the beauty of the nature and the joy it left in my being. When one has loved something very deeply it stays in our souls as memorial expressions that can never be erased. Her courage, her strength is remarkable and now in this video I see her vision she created since the death of her husband and son together with her daughter. It needs all of our attention. She has something to share that is vital for all us. She is touching me as much as her book has touched me. ❤️🌸🌸🌸🌸❤️

I assume there's a lot of money in the family background, without she wouldn't have been able to live that life described in her books.

Not all men are punch noses, apparently she got under some people’s skins if not she would still be dancing, drinking tea and baking cookies with the militia group that killed her. Turning tribes into cartoons for tourist money is not my cup of tea. Those dances and rituals have meanings. Some. Dance because a child is born others because of marriage or some other festivity. Performing meaningful cultural rituals, taking their meanings away and turning them I to a circus act for a couple of schillings destroys their culture. I would rather have a council tribe of elders sit and try to reach a solution in which both tribes can work together or at least learn to respect some boundaries so they can both use resources and support their families adequately. That being said I do feel sorry her family died and hope she is in a better place in company of her husband and son.
I lived in Kenya and love Kenya, it was never wild, it was different. The beautiful thing about Kenya is it’s people which always helped me reveal the best in me. There are people and communities that bring out the worst in you, Kenya did the opposite for me, it made me a better man, it made me more empathetic with other people, it taught me how to respect sick people, it taught me the beauty of other religions, we were a group of many friends, there were many religions and we all got along, there were also many tribes. It was sad to see the issues Kenya had later during election time, what I saw has helped me and are lessons that will probably help me the rest of my life. I miss Kenya and just talking of Kenya makes my heart beat faster and it makes me smile.
