Today, Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen - Red Baron achieved his 58th victory. He shot down Nieuport XXIII (A6611, 29 Sqdn) while piloting Albatros D V 2059/17.
This video is dedicated to the best pilot of all time - The Red Baron.
Flight barons (also just barons) were decorated TIE pilots of the Galactic Empire's military. To signify their status, they had the right to bear red markings on their otherwise all-black flight suits and helmets. One such baron was Valen Rudor. The First Order later drew inspiration from the Imperial barons' flashes of red when designing the helmets of their First Order Special Forces.

The average tie pilot is crazy, the average interceptor pilot is ruthless; Defender pilots are crazy and ruthless.
On a different note; I remember playing XWing alliance and doing this strange MP challenge once. I was in a TIE Defender and faced off against four other players and their AI backup, which represented the entire carrier of an MC80B, those guys where good too. Still kicked their asses and busted their cruiser. Defenders are OP as fuck.

Sadly, this guy was not a baron. He was made up to be such a good character, and then had another dumb death.
Though during the rebels show, there was actually another flying ace who was an actual baron, his name is valen rudor.
We see ezra steal his helmet in a short, and he was actually meant to test the Tie Advanced V1 in one of the episodes, before It blew up.
He wouldve made such a good villian, but no, all the imperials in the show have to be stupid, so we never saw him do something actually important.
