I am devoted to classic rock. Ann Wilson has long been, for me, the best female rock voice; she has power, range, and soul. I also agree with goodtunes2 below, Nancy Wilson has a beautiful voice and is a gifted musician and performer. I saw this video and heard this song for the first time two nights ago, and it struck me that a downside to always listening to classic rock, is that I sometimes miss classics in-the-making. To me, this is one. This particular performance of this song is classic Wilson sisters.
The greatest thing about this is, ultimately, you didn't miss it - you discovered it! I too, discovered this song recently. For me, it came along at the perfect time - I'm greatly missing my wife, who died last year. This song brings me to my knees and cuts to my soul. I'm not a glutton for punishment, but there are times when I need to be moved, to be humbled, beyond anything I am capable of handling. It reminds me how much I loved her, and still do. Peace.
@@seeburg220 I have So Much Appreciation for your Comment! I’m Living It! The Love Of My Life is on Hospice and I, Too, discovered This Brilliant Gem which sings to Soul and plays My Heartstrings. It’s the Perfect Homage, for me, to My Love and What We Share and Who We Are to each other. I really don’t want to think of a world without Him in it. I’m sorry for your loss. I’m sorry for Mine. I wish-hope-pray it would change, but I look forward to sharing Forever with Him in the World To Come. Peace be yours.
“Sand” originally appeared on “Whirlygig”, the 1997 LP by Nancy and Ann Wilson’s side project, the Lovemongers. More than a decade later, at the behest of producer Ben Mink, it was RE-RECORDED for Heart’s “Red Velvet Car” album (2010)❗️ Dixit Nancy about the song : “It’s a tough one to get through because it sums up THE ARC OF A LOVE AFFAIR, OR THE ARC OF A LIFE, OR THE END OF A SEASON. It’s a simple concept big enough to imprint heavily in your life - the idea that time runs out.” 💙⌛️💚⏳💜
My dear sweet ladies, this is tremendously beautiful - epic. The lyrics & the eloquently woven music, gently reminds us the slow oozing of a substance that measures our existence.. This song envelopes the fact that someday a whole new generation of people exist here, where you played with your kids, married your husband, etc. Our intentions fall to the floor & the ooze starts to hemorrhage at an alarming speed. This song also reminds us how important it is to embrace & treasure our precious moments.. We miss Heart, ladies. Please embrace your legacies & your sisterhood,
Angela Dawn Townsend, this is for you. I miss you every minute of every day. "A trick of light upon our eyes A trick of time upon our lives Ancient songs cry out to you Surely this sweet sand is slipping through,"
I remember hearing this song on tv while my parents were watching a few months ago. For some reason I kept thinking about it today, though I couldn’t remember what it was called or even the melody. So I spend an hour and a half searching for it on TH-cam. I finally found it, and as I watched it I couldn’t contain myself and cried the entire song.
Don Jack, you're the man. Thank you for this. My favorite musicians all of my life...I go to the ends of the Earth to see and hear them perform live.....What a magical, beautiful, intimate, sharing experience. Every time. Thank you ladies for sharing your lives with us. We love you, Connie ;-)
Over Easter, my family played a game were we filled out a long list of our favorite things. Favorite song took the longest for me to decide, because there's so many great ones and there's so many different ways to judge... but ultimately, after several agonizing hours, this song was written on my list. I haven't found any reason to second guess it.
So in love with this beautiful song! ❤ sung so beautifully by the both of you! ❤️ @annwilson @nancywilson. Also, Ann, I am so glad your bangs are short these days! You used to hide your face and you were always so beautiful with gorgeous eyes! ❤️😘❤️

This is perfect. Nancy Wilson does not get enough props for her harmony vocals.
I loved her songs that she did lead on. "Love Mistake" from Passionworks is I think my favorite Heart song!
I agree. Nancy doesn't get enough credit. The harmony is incredible!
