Have the cat start a little bit inside the maze (only the cat's head need to be slightly inside the maze) so it can only move sideways within the maze walls. Take note of this y axis value of the cat(lets say -135) and add an if condition inside the forever loop. If(position of y < -135) change y by 4 (absolute value you are using to move y downwards in your program).

When I tried to make it not go through the walls.. it still would in some cases. I think this is happening because there is also a grey and light grey texture in the walls of the maze, which it isn't recognising. I've done the script for when if the sprite touches the colour black/grey/light grey it won't move. But it still doesn't work. If you can help me please do so.
Are you using the maze as a backdrop instead of as a sprite? If you are then you need to make sure that the color is EXACTLY as the maze. Sometimes it won't have the actual color. This happened to me. You probably already finished because I am typing this a year late.

uhhhhh actually the white is the backdrop and the grey is in the middle u have to make IT MORE PERFECT DAN YOU BUDDY
Draw the maze in mspaint then the colors of the maze will be defined exactly

i made a maze that is controlled by the mouse cursor that detects when the cursor is touching the walls and it basically stops the program
