You guys should know that Andrew was a huge huge Spiderman fan and dressed up as Spiderman to comic-cons when he was younger before he was even Spiderman. And when he became spiderman he enjoyed and cherished it the most of all the spidermans. He dressed up as Spiderman and went to hospitals and he truly cherished his role and opportunity to be that. Makes my heart hurt sometimes that such a good actor didn't get a good script.
The reason he didn't get his revenge was because he realised it's not about revenge. It's about responsibility. I don't think it was stated well so it's hard to pick up on that
The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth She was the only one capable to tell AVI ARAD when to back off Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1 Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise Spiderman was nothing without her
So as a take on the "different Spider-man series," in the comics, there are various superlative Spider-Man comics. The original, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man which I feel was depicted by Tobey Maguire very well. The Amazing Spider-Man who was more of a brooding punk teen which Garfield does well. And recently they did the Avenging Spider-Man series which embraces the idea of a Spider-Man that is an Avenger while also trying to protect New York. Which I think Tom Holland did a great job of. Honestly I enjoy all 3 different series' as their own depictions of the various ways Spider-Man has been done through the years and that leaves so much more room for them to change/grow the character cinematically.
I think it's hard to objectively compare the Bens cause ultimately the 1st is always more likely to hit harder cause it's the first time. I personally think if this come first people would gravitate to it more cause unless you know what happens cause of the comics it's unexpected
Tobey first two movies captured perfectly the core of responsibility, that’s the best part about his SM1-2. His Peter was ok and his Spidey was meh. He had by far the worse written relationship and Tobey had the worse acted scenes. Andrew is by far the best actor, he is an Oscar-Emmy worthy actor but sadly he had a horrible script. He has by far the best relationship, him and Gwen are amazing. His Peter wasn’t good but his Spider-Man was amazing. And TSM had the best Flash Thomson. Tom Holland is the only one that looks age appropriate as how the character starts, Peter in the comics gets bitten when he is 15 and Tom’s is perfect and he has a real teen personality. Holland is able to harness the same energy when it comes to being Peter as well as Spiderman. When I see his version of Peter being Spiderman it is still recognizably Peter. Neither maguire or Garfield were quite able to capture both sides of the webhead. They played Peter or Spiderman but never did it feel like they were playing Peter as Spiderman or Spiderman as Peter. They lacked cohesion with the two sides of the character. That is why currently Holland is the best portrayal of Spiderman. His first two movies missed the responsibility core of the character but in No Way Home had part of that so I can’t wait for his next movie. Also Tom Holland gave us the best acting performances as the character. Again, he is nowhere close to Andrew as an actor but as the character Tom Holland has the best acted scenes, he was always great in Civil War, Homecoming, IW, End Game, FFH but in NWH he was amazing. I’m a filmmaker student and my friends and I are always doing movie ratings and ranking so I this are mine with the SM movies: SM1 7/10 SM2 8/10 SM3 4/10 TSM 5/10 TSM2 6/10 Homecoming 7/10 FFH 7.5/10 NWH 8/10 Spiderverse 10/10

I think the script was good.. why do so many people say this? I see nothing wrong with them. Tom's movies were horrible to me.

Underrated gem more accurate portrayal than the tobey version
Marc Webb is amazing, and people should NOT blame him for the failure of this franchise
They should blame AVI ARAD
