DM tip to flat all maps: buy a small acrylic plate and put it on the table, with the map below. I already have a plate to protect the tv screen (digital maps), so it's another use for a protection plate to put the minis on top and never scratch your map again. You can even draw with whiteboard pen, draw fireball area or wall of fire. it's perfect.
Additionally you can engrave the grid with a laser or something, that way you can use ungridded map pictures or even draw your own map over some neutral image. We did that with hex grid when we played GURPS
The timing of this is insane cause I was just thinking about running this with my kids as their first ever DND thing and was looking at this set and thinking about getting it and now im sold 1000%

This looks awesome but not sure the average player can drop 500$ for a single campaign setting. That's asking a lot when a lot of players run on budgeting and share a single book or two using their phones/tablets for a lot of the stuff they need. But it does look awesome!

The price tag is pretty big, but you could have the entire play group chip in to purchase it. A group of 4 players and DM would be throwing in $100 + tax. Which makes it a lot more reasonable.
Idk how big long these campaigns run for 5e, but it's one of those things where you plan ahead for "I wish to run the "premium" campaign for the next 12 months kind of mentality.

This is reminds me of the time where I ran a game where advice beginning the players find a portal leading to the Shadow Fell and the campaign focused on going back and forth. When they first arrived one if my players rolled to try to figure out where they were. He rolled a Nat 1 and so the party thought they were in the Feywild lol
We were barely past the 'this is technically an ad' and you said "jk rowling can eat my whole ass" and that like button felt it. That like button gonna catch these hands when I hear passive support for the trans community.
I ran this campaign. My group went straight through the carnival into the fey and started killing. I skipped the "theater" part because my players would of been bored out their minds. It ended with one of my characters promising himself to one of the witches (I just made into bette midler) then killing zyblina and taking over her domain. The other players just went on with their lives haha

As a DM currently running Witchlight, this box is making me drool. The only problem are the shipping costs. I'm in Europe, and shipping of even just the Silver edition of the box (I don't need the Platinum. The extras aren't worth the extra 300 dollars to me) has a shipping cost of over 100 euros on top of the 160 euros that the kit itself will put me back. I'm very tempted to get it, but there's a limit to the amount of money I can spend, and as long as they don't have an EU store, I'm afraid it's going to be something I can never afford.

You can go to big box hardware stores (Lowe’s, Home Depot) and they can cut plexi glass sheets to size for you. I sandwiched my maps between 2 sheets of plexi held together with small binder clips. Fully protected and simple to change out, it’s wonderful!
This makes me even more sad that our DM for our Witchlight game had to move after only 3 sessions in. My Irish bunny murder wizard will never find his smile again!
I've only read the book so far and this campaign is far and away my favourite! I can't afford any edition at this time but I hope they have a good long run for when I can scrounge up enough and run it for my players. You guys are very lucky! Watching this after Arcane Arcade played the first episode of WBW. As soon as they saw the snail race tracker and Spencer pointed out Shellymoo, I knew that they were meant to be.
Really REALLY brilliant module if you're new to DMing. Very clearly laid out and tutorialises most of the mechanics in the lvl 1 area (which, considering how deadly lvl 1 can be it is great to have no combat unless you go out of your way to fight). Just make sure y'all go in to RP your socks off or you will hate it.

Been waiting for Witchlight content since its release🧡. I got this box due to your opening of Icewindale. Unfortunately my bix was missing the wings for the Jabberwock, the paint on the medallion was scuffed, and the list reads silver edition instead of Platinum. The company instantly helped when I reached out, I just painted the medallion myself lol
So excited to see you guys play this adventure. I had a blast with it as it brought me my personal favorite PC who I now weave into the backstories of my other PCs. Question: if you intend to use the Lost Things storyline, then will you guys also be playing the Level 0 prelude where you start as children?
Does look neat. But man are those boxes expensive. So it’s great if you have a close group of players that are committed to the campaign and the DM is experienced. May be the players could contribute some money for a box like this. Because the worst thing to happen would be for a DM to spend all this money on a box and the campaign to fall apart.

Lexan is more expensive, but less prone to shattering if that's a concern. Either way, make sure you round off the edges so nothing gets cut!

I'd of loved the platinum Icewind Dale edition and I'd of probably bought it. But it's all gone. Cis DND people love their LIMITED TIME ITEMS

We’re currently running Witchlight for my 11 year old daughter’s newly formed D&D party. They are HOOKED!
Beadle & Grimms is pricy but the stuff is REALLY nice. I have their Avernus box and it’s wonderful.
