So, remember the little girl with green eyes who stared at Grog in episode 1 ? That was Raishan. She followed them through their portal.
Which is why she was missing during the dragon reunion at the last of the first episode.
And as mentioned in the comments already, at some point, Keeper Yennen mysteriously loses the birthmark on her cheek because she was replaced.
Chenga is a reference to season 1 during the dinner party with Uriel. Vax leaves to try and search the Briarwood’s room. They decide that there should be a safe word in case anything happens, and Grog decides the safe word is Chenga.
And in the actual campaign the word is Jenga but copyright reasons.
Mythcarver was originally made for a bard champion so scanlan was able to tap into its power and amplify it with his voice... and what a powerful display to blow out the brains of an ancient black dragon, kudos to CR for the narrative shift from the campaign of grog getting the kill shot, this was a great character moment for scanlan :)))
Scanlan vs the Pit Fiend was an epic moment in the stream that doesn't seem like it will make the cut onto the show, so they transposed his moment of triumph to here.
@@DrLipkin well, if they don't change much of how they get Pike's armor, we might still get to see the pit fiend
And as I joked to Sam, "that yell was pure Bruce Dickinson...or Rob Halford!"
Seeing Vax and Scanlan having those team up moments is even better when you know that Liam and Sam are best friends in real life. Like soulmate level best friends.
YUP. And then when you watch Mighty Nein, it's apparent like ep 2 on, which I happily brought up to both of them!
It's hard to believe this season is already over. When season three arrives it's going to be even more epic!
That and friggin Mighty Nein's gonna come out at some point too, can't wait for that one.
I got so happy when I saw what they're building towards during this season. I'm getting super hyped to see the payoff, and how people react. Really excited about Mighty Nein beyond belief!

So fun production fact. On their recent watch along stream, Critical Role showed one of the concept art pieces for Umbrasyl's err..."chute". The art piece was labelled as "INT - UmbrASSsyl Booty Tube - Colour". 😄

In the campaign Scanlan was an MVP in quite a lot of big fights. He did not do much damage, but his buffing, healing and control of battlefield was insane. His use of counter-spell was incredible. You should really check out some of the videos that compare the animated series and original campaign. It would give you more insight into a bit of the background.
For example: In the Kevadk fight, when Vex was pinning Kevdak down with her bow? In the original, that was Scanlan with some clever tactical moves and magic. Absolutely saved them in this fight.
Sam, who plays at being naive to the game, is leaps and bounds the tactician of the players. He is moves and moves ahead at all times.
Fully agree. Sam turned Scanlan from a playboy into a master tactician. He was the true MVP of the campaign

I really hope they work counterspell into the mix bc it was so impactful for sam as a tactical player
The twist at the end was CRAZY in the game, and I am so glad they chose it to end the season

I just want you guys to know I definitely subscribed for Achara and Steph. You ladies are amazing. I’m glad it’s this pair with Vox Machina 💕💕.
So, the last time I believe we see Real Yennen is when she walks off with Gilmore after the initial attack and flight to Whitestone. The next time Yennen walks into a scene is when Vox Machina are being told to go to Vasselheim for help. I think that was already Raishan as when walking into the room her face was half shadowed in a similar manner to when Raishan revealed herself. Which means that Raishan followed Yennen from the tree and took her form shortly after since she was shown to be trusted enough by Vox Machina and the leadership of Whitestone to get close.
Remember that little girl with green eyes who glared at Grog and ran off screen? Yeah, now you know why they gave that kid such a long moment.
U can tell when it was real Yennen by the birth mark on her face. If she does not have it its Raishan.
In the watch along stream yesterday, Sam pointed out that Raishan failed to include Keeper Yemen’s mole on her right cheek. I went back to S2E1 & Yennen has her mole in the scene by the Sun Tree when she talks about a tree near Vasselheim.
Just wanted to repeat other comments. Ripley was introduced in Season 1; she helped the Briarwoods, and Percy was going to kill her until she escaped. Great reactions!
The voice actors of the kids in the beginning of this episode are sam reigel’s (Scanlan) actual kids!

Bit funny to have Mythcarver used to make the kill, when in the campaign Sam hated using it. He'd much rather used spells and buffs. Often he only used the sword when the rest of the party yelled at him. :p
The Deathwalker's Ward, exalted! As for Mythcarver, it can grant its bearer four attacks at the cost of a point in exhaustion, making it a great finisher... and a chance for a bard to actually kick some ass. Now you know who that little girl glaring at Grog was.
honestly i like that they added ripply to this, when she originally came back in the game it was kinda outta no where and we had to just accept that matt knew what she was doing off screen and it wasn't just random convenance that she was where she was simply to fuck with percy, she came up in the search for another vestige and it was one of the most disjointed things about that arc that she just happened to be looking for it too, giving her time here and a team up with umbrasylle will def make that flow way better for us as an audience when we get there assumably in season 3 XD

If you want more Vox Machina, I recommend starting the campaign. The animated series is up through episode 63 of the campaign, so you could watch to there without spoiling anything from upcoming seasons. I'm sure you've been warned about the early episodes. There were some sound issues, and a toxic player that could drag it down sometimes. But it's well worth a watch. That's the "Kraghammer" that dream-Scanlan talks about.
S1 was awesome, and S2 took it to another level. And your reactions have been great! 👏❤️

SO MUCH BETTER than in the live show.
in the original, Gilmore pushes him off a balcony.
This whole episode exhausting in the absolute best way possible! Whenever the heroes of any fantasy story fight a dragon it should ALWAYS be grueling and epic, true final boss shit, and the final fight left me floored. And the final moment of Scanlan finally using his balls for something other than sex and getting the courage to attack Umbrasyl had me actually shouting and cheering for him.
It sucks that we have to wait another whole year to see what might be the conclusion of this saga, but it will be worth the wait.
Also my plan for taking out Umbrasyl in the cave would’ve been to first have someone get rid of the dragons ability to fly by going after the wings, not by targeting the base of his wings but by making a single deep slash into the webbing of their wings, just like what Kratos did to the Baldur’s dragon in God Of War. Then lure the dragon into a smaller part of the cave and have the heavy hitters like Grog and Keyleth attack the ceiling of the cave causing a cave in to both damage and even incapacitate the dragon. After that Umbrasyl will be angry enough that he will keep trying to use his acid spit over and over while they use the newly dropped boulders as cover, then when he is between attacks do what Scalan did and go for the eyes. Then just keep chipping away at the weak points until it’s dead.
There were so many times I was wondering why they didn't go for his eye during the fight. When Grog was hitting him in the face, just punch the eye. When Percy was trying to shoot Vax out of his grasp and Umbrasyl moved his eye directly into the site, shoot. Also, "Team Tummy" didn't use their advantage nearly well enough (though in the game, that was because they were a lot more confined, and the acid was doing more damage).
So the little girl in like the first episode with green eyes staring at grog was the same dragon Raishan (the poisonous gas one from the beginning of the season) that took on Keeper Yennan’s form, she’s been hiding amongst them this whole time!
If Amazon doesn't do 15 seasons and a trilogy. They are missing out.
I honestly don't want 15 seasons of LoVM, as much as I love the show and the characters. The source material that is there is good for about 5 seasons and CR has said that they're aiming for that. I really don't want this show to end up like 'Supernatural' where it becomes so popular that they keep making it way past it's natural conclusion.
Now, if we're talking Critical Role shows in _general_ not just LoVM, then I 100% agree. 5 seasons of LoVM, 5-7 of the Mighty Nein show, however many seasons end up being necessary for Bell's Hells and an ExU: Calamity movie to top it off, please and thank you.

Ladies love love love your reactions but just a point of reference. In dnd there are 3 types of Dragons Chromatic,Metallic and Gem. The last 2 seasons we've only been introduced to the chromatic dragons which are all evil by nature the metallics are good and the gems are mostly neutral but can swing either way. just a heads up. You'll see in the future.
I’ve loved seeing y’alls’ reactions to this amazing show! Also, you’re indeed correct in guessing that not all dragons in the world of this show are evil… but unfortunately every dragon variety shown so far is pretty squarely in the “heart made of jet-black poison” zone based on what we know of DnD dragons.

One hell of a climax fight
To create content for their podcast, Liam and Sam decided to play DnD for Liam's birthday (Sam had never played). Those episodes are here on YT, or at least they used to be. Sam asked Liam something to the effect of what would be the most useless character to play and Liam answered, 'probably a gnome bard'. So Sam said 'then that's what I'll be'.
Laura (Vex), Liam (Vax), Travis (Grog), and Sam (Scanlan) created their characters on that day, for that day, with no idea where this would all lead. BTW, Taliesin and Marisha were there but Taliesin originally played a dragonborn and Marisha didn't play as she was assisting her then BF, now husband, Matt by helping everyone else with the game mechanics, as married couple Laura Travis had also never played.
And they're all gonna be at NYCC again this year. And I will try to meet as many of them as I can.

Yes, Vax has wings now. Kiki finds him beautiful with them. And she fell a little more in love with him in that moment.
And Vex is envious, such classic sibling energy there.
Also… I was not expecting our first inter-party kiss to be the gnomes. But they deserved it.
But at last, the Hope Devourer has been felled, albeit BARELY. Just goes to show that while the dragons aren’t invincible, the remaining ones will only be that much more difficult to slay.
And now… we finally have a proper introduction to the fourth member of the Chroma Conclave: *_Raishan, the Diseased Deceiver._* And a perfect season-ending cliffhanger.
So much dragon butt stuff hahaha
Was Keeper Yennen always a dragon? If yes, she was really selfish in season 1, not helping enough to defeat Silas and Delilah Briarwood.

Well, in the watch party Tuesday night, Sam Reigel (Scanlan) mentioned that the dragon, as Yennen, did not have the mole on her face, which she had in the earlier episodes. I know you know this, but, lol!
It’s subtle, but the show tells us Yennen is her own person in a couple of different ways. Gilmore says “she’s taken Yennen’s form!” Identifying them as different entities. Also ehile Raishan is pretending to be Yennen she’s missing the mole on her face.
Hopefully the real Yennen’s still alive and just stashed in a broom closet asleep somewhere lol

I'm not sure how they're going to fit the entire rest of the CC arc into one more season. Keeping it spoiler free, you have at least 2 more dragons to deal with (3 if it goes bad with Raishan), and 3 people who don't have vestiges yet, plus Anna Ripley. That's over half the season right there. That doesn't leave much time for the character building, planning, intermediate episodes. And there are certain iconic moments that we need to see during this arc ("Jazz Hands", "spice", etc.). It's a lot. I'm kind of hoping they stretch it to a season and a half, with the last half of that season being the first half of the TD arc, do another half season with TD, then finish with a season and a half of the final BBEG.
