The trigger pressure is adjustable. Also when shooting with the stock extended do not hold by the mag well. Cup your hand under the bulge where the safety is. It is perfectly balanced for that position as it was designed to be fired this way.
I have one. Lots of fun! My sonny has an GSG STG-44 which is heavier, but just as cool. With the MP-40, we only load 20 rounds. When we load 22, the first two usually jam. No biggie.

I found I had to work hard to remember to come off the trigger far enough to reset. The reason there are 5 front sights is that this is how you adjust for elevation. Each of the front sight blades is a different height and each is marked with small dots on the side. To adjust for elevation, you take the front bushing thingie off, pull off the front sight shroud, and slide the front sight off to the side. Slide a different height front sight in place and replace the shroud and the front bushing thingie. I found on my rifle I can't adjust my point of impact high enough at 20m. I'll have to see what happens when I get to push the rifle out to 25m or so.
Hate to defend canadas laws here but it is far from a variant. Completely unique internally. Closed bolt, gas operated, honestly not much else you could do internally to make it different. I assume this is by design

Only semi auto, centrefire guns have mag limitaions. Centrefire, semi automatic handguns are 10 rounds max. centrefire semi automatic rifles and shotguns are 5 rounds max.
Yep iam a left handed shooter and have no issues using one.But then again I've never had a special left handed gun.Only one I can't use are certain bullpups.
I have a Henry Golden Boy 22 , their a heavy gun but way more fun and can shot any and all 22 ammunition. I’ve shot one of these and found it way to heavy and clunky and no recoil at all (you have to have at least some) when asked by my buddy if I wanted to shot it of again, declined .
The original MP40 is not prohibited in the United States states as long as you have a tax stamp for it along with about $26g to 30g very expensive machine guns are legal for law-abiding citizens as long as they were made before 1986 , I have the GSG 9mm MP40 but the folding stock requires a SBR tax stamp which I'm thinking about getting.

My buddy bought one of these, I understand it’s a replica. I found it clunky, shooting 22 lr the recoil is like a BB gun. Probably be more fun if in a 9mm or 45.

I strongly doubt it'd a gas OS as most 22s (99.99%) are straight blowback

That is definitely not a 16.5" barrel, an original MP40 barrel is only around 10" and that one is barely longer.
