I cannot wait for this episode...I've been so fascinated by Foxcatcher ever since watching the film and documentary. When I found out Kurt was there, my mind was blown. Thank goodness I get up early, just in time for the premiere!
I was bored this Saturday morning so I decided to watch this again. 2 years later. It's crazy what happens to people with a ton of money that isolate themselves. Very sad for the Schultz family.
The Shultz Brothers had a double wristlock throw as a counter to single leg that could break your arm. Mark broke a Turkish wrestlers arm with that DWL throw. Stephan Bonnar gave me a bone bruise with the very same throw when we were Broadcast partners and had a grappling match in the cage before the show for the fighters and coaches
Kurt Angle is a real inspiration, from his Amateur days! To think he became an entertainer at the highest level, as well.🤯 More than that he made it through horrible times with family issues and tragedies. Plus, an addiction that would put most people in the here ever after! Not, many could ever follow what he's accomplished. He is a survivor and all around Top Bloke!!! 🕊️🙏 God Bless and Thank You, Kurt Angle.
Could you imagine all the trophies and medals Dave and Kurt have. I mostly played baseball and football and received alot of trophies but I remember my friends that wrestled and their rooms were filled with alot more hardware.
@@carolynbuckley8733 although Coleman was great, I don't think he has the same personality as the other guys. I could be wrong. Maybe him and Matt Lindland could fight for the final spot on the team.
Growing up in Central 19:02 ,Pa I heard about Kurt and Cary Kolat. They were legends. Now Penn State is the dominant wrestling program under Sanderson.
My god!🤣I wouldn’t have been able to contain myself if I was there in Bulgaria🤣🤣 they crowd surfed him around the arena🤣🤣 I would’ve busted out laughing
WOW what a crazy Story. Ive even whatched once the Film like 5 years or so ago when I was 16. But I didnt know Kurt was involved or even knew this people. I Was like Holy s*t while listening to this Podcast today. And like OMG all the Things that happens the year Kurt eins his olympic medal.
2 things he isn't talking about. Cocaine was Huge in this story And Dupont called himself the Eagle and he called his bunk bed the "Eagles' Nest" It was surrounded by bark and Dupont would try luring wrestlers into the Nest. Dupont was in Love with Mark and Dave. Bring that up to Mark Shultz he will Explode on ya
Also Dave didn't look imposing, he looked kind of nerdy but Dave had legs like tree trunks. As Kurt says Dave was one of those guys who had tremendous tendon strength like Dan Hodge. Dupont was a sicko. Severn tells the story in our bar show about how Dupont would wear high heels 👠and fishnets into the sauna and Dupont had the infamous "Eagle's Nest" bunkbed 🤢🤕🤮
I know the question would be in bad taste considering what we know now but I wonder if they feel Dupont in his own crazy way did something positive for American wrestling by starting Foxcatcher?
I thought they were talking about Dr. D when they mentioned this last week. Now it makes more sense... still interesting but I cant help but think the former wouldve been rather interesting.
Dave seems like he was such a geniune guy. It's such a shame that a spoiled, paranoid, rich moron took a great father, husband and friend from the world. I bet Dave would have enjoyed sitting ringside at a WWE event to watch some of his training turned into art by Kurt. I hope his family is doing well now. It had to be very hard to go on after such a tragedy.
I don't know but I'm sure they got a civil suit settlement. *I just looked and apparently they received $35 million in a settlement. Not the same as a husband and father but atleast they didn't financially struggle.

THIS is what i want to hear. Dave Schultz 4 life

This is content. New respect for this man

That’s a rules violation sir. Disqualified

I love the Kurt Angle Show!
Great episode!!!! One of the best
Kurt Angle has gone through so much shit in his life.
Thank God for the 3 I's!
It's true. It's damn true!
I watched the documentary and also the movie a while back; and my goodness, this story is crazy.
RIP David Shultz
The story isn't crazy. Jon Dupont was crazy 🤪
Could you imagine all the trophies and medals Dave and Kurt have. I mostly played baseball and football and received alot of trophies but I remember my friends that wrestled and their rooms were filled with alot more hardware.
This whole episode is great. Great work
Thank you Kurt and Conrad! Much respect. Gonna check out more stuff on Dave. Enjoyed Kurt's descriptions. As Vince would say, "that's some good shit"
Rip David Shultz
Great Ep.
Love you Kurt
I'm shocked to this video only has 16k views 😮 🔥 Episode..
Over saturation. Everybody that's anybody has a podcast or you tube channel.
Since Kurt wasn't in the documentary I've wondered what his thoughts on the situation were
Kurt Angle, Randy Couture, Matt Hughes, Dan Henderson, Don Frye and Dan Severn...my dream team that I'd love to train with.
No Coleman? Id switch Frie for Mark. That would be mine

@@raleighhollerboywv7253 What about Kevin Randleman?
No Hulk Hogan?
@@janed1323😂😂 thanks for the laugh 1 year ago. I still think Andre would whip them all.
Fascinating & informative
Kurt wearing Dave Schultz singlet his rookie year. Wow.
Angle is the true prince of Pennsylvania

That's what the phrase " life is stranger than fiction" means.
1:25 to avoid wide load talking about mortgage rates
lol 😂
Grandpa Angle painting is creepy.
Still not as creepy as Dwayne Wade's statue😂
Some of Angles info is off. John started the club way before his mom died
Yeah, she died 2 years after Dupont started Foxcatcher in 1986. She died in 1988.

That's exactly why. Mark is in perpetual grief and there is nothing to gain by rubbing salt in his wounds.
That murder is a heart break. The nation lost a legend.

When I heard the origin story I just thought about Vision Quest. Guy starts wrestling late but just has so much natural ability that you can't coach.
I know the question would be in bad taste considering what we know now but I wonder if they feel Dupont in his own crazy way did something positive for American wrestling by starting Foxcatcher?
That story in Russia just kept getting more and more bizarre lol
Hey is that grizzly smith hogging up the left screen?

Besides the Gym? What else is a good outlet for us wrestlers to maintain a healthy lifestyle & live a normal life 🤣🤣

This makes me wonder if Kurt's future relations with 'eccentric' millionaires were influenced by his time with DuPont.
"ad free except the 2 min intro of every video annoyingly reminding you about your house debt
There should be more ads than that.
The thumbnail makes him look like a 39 year old line cook dressed up as kurt angle for Halloween
Too many ads
Kurt let's go takedowns brother are you in shape enough to do that or not
"Schultz"
I heard that Schultz had to wrestle that crazy man naked for a place to live and food, is this true?
He not the slapping guy
Mark Schultz get your facts straight Kurt
John shot Mark’s brother Dave… you know, the other brother who also won an Olympic gold medal?
Wtf is a river dog !?
The clue is in the name.
