Captured on Super 8 cine film, an array of diesel and electric locomotives on both freight and passenger workings in the east and west Midlands. The film was shot in the early to mid 1980s
Brilliant film from around when I started as an enthusiast in the West Midlands. Can I just ask - is the sound on the film itself or dubbed from elsewhere?
@@foretrak Oh wow, that wasn't far from our flat. I remember now that there was one extra, disused line (the third from the left here) but the rest of it was so overgrown it was invisible. Thanks for the info.
The super 8 filming adds to the nostalgia, great piece of history
Great footage, thanks for uploading this. Those were great days, such a variety of motive power around the West Midlands then.
Glad you enjoyed it
Not Nottingham. Looks like Burton on Trent followed by Sheffield.
Funny you should say that. It's exactly what my mate said when he saw it despite the reel being labelled 'Nottingham Midland'.
Brilliant footage, thanks very much for sharing.

Very good!
Thanks!
Superb film.
Thanks.
Brilliant, thank you.
You're very welcome!

No, it was silent cine and has been overdubbed for effect
I lived in Langley Green about 12 years ago, but I can't quite place that location. Is it before Rowley Regis?
Here, I believe maps.app.goo.gl/xg8Pdo9MTJNykcQaA
