@Matthew Gonzalez against a really good kc team, but also losing in the final is better than not making it. bengals lost against rams but it was still impressive for them to make it that far and no one took it away
It’s crazy like wow some kids who really work there butt off and don’t get a shot in the league jus wish they grew up big body like him and have it easy
So that's not what the video said. I rewatched it to make sure but he said that Mailata is the only NFL player in history who didn't attend university.
Fairs. Tall people are at a severe disadvantage in rugby as tackling becomes a lot harder, especially being an efficient tackler. Height only helps with a lineout, and even still its reliant on your thrower (commonly the hooker) to be good at his job
I think a lot more rugby players would make the NFL if you had guys who kick in rugby kicking in the NFL. A rugby player can consistently make 55 metre kick (60 yard FG) with a ball which in my personal experience goes a lot less of the distance of an American football ball, yes they do have less pressure but I'd still say someone who has a good boot in rugby would have a brilliant one in football. You've also got to remember that a rugby player can do what is the equivalent of a punt about 70 metres (76 yards) under 10 times the pressure as in rugby it is perfectly legal to tackle the kicker and you can't block either again with a ball which goes nowhere near as far. People always say how Soccer players should be kickers when in reality rugby players can probably kick a lot further
I think you’re confusing rugby and Australian Rules Football or Footy. 55M kicks are extremely rare in rugby, typically only if you’re going for a golden point and it’s a last ditch effort before the end of the game. But it happens all the time in footy
Thing is also, while you’re make 1/10th to even 1/50th in Australian leagues they actually take care of their players with one of the best healthcare systems in the world and you’re living in arguably better areas than most teams play in the US
@@brian2440 its rare in rugby league to make those meters but when you look at the boot unions players have it’s insane! The barret brothers for example, Jordie barret consistently kicks goal from 50m and further and Beauden kicks for touch gaining 50+ meters. Reece hodge also has a massive boot on him and could also thrive in NFL if he was to take it serious
@@Ousssousssscarnttttt I mean if we are just going off of kicks then afl still is king….. The record for the longest try (kick) in afl history is 146 meters
Stoutland is a genius! He was was the OL coach at MSU when I played RB there. I still know his 62/63 blocking scheme. Find the Mike and the rest is easy. Protect from the inside out
I'm from Australia and a massive Rugby fan, I met him at the Rabbitohs under 18s , would've loved to see him play some games, good to see him doing well though
Michael Lewis was an ALL-PRO KR for the New Orleans Saints. He had been driving a beer truck for Budweiser. Never attending college. Mail atta came after him.
Rugby and football may be similar. But, they are totally different games. The amount of running in a rugby game is many times that of a football game. Very, very few football players could even finish a rugby game. On the other hand, the hitting in a football game is both far more frequent, as well as far more intense than that in a rugby game. It is the blocking and block shedding that is particularly brutal (even American spectators don’t really have an appreciation for this). They are still both great games. At the elite levels of competition, the athletes in both sports are outstanding athletes. Yet, there is just not as much overlap in skills and physical fitness for the two sports than what people think.
The best rugby to nfl player ever was Gary Anderson. Had to go to college though. Played his first game at Syracuse without knowing what a first down was.
This guy is an absolute beast, and good on him for making it happen. Also, with rugby players in general- have you gotten a look at their combine situation? A lot of what they do is comparable to the NFL combine. Check out some of the video from the MLR combine. That's Major League Rugby, the US league, and some of that video is on here. It is what it is, man. That's all I can say. Have a look.
Jordan, I love your content, BUT incorrect statement about only player to have never attended college. You might want to do something about 2x NFL Pro Bowl Eric Swann. He also never attended college ( Prop 48) AND was Arizona Cardinals 1st Round Pick. Interesting story to check out. He was a beast at DE and had a decent career.
There is a dude you should watch out for his name is Samis rayes he's a TE played basketball his whole life in chilli I believe n he's learning but they already say he's one of the most violent blockers on the field when he's on it and he's huge I think with a bit more learning he can be something

I’m and eagles fan and love his story this man is one of the biggest reasons why the eagles made the sb
Edit:Mom I’m FAMOUS
@Matthew Gonzalez losing is better than not making it at all!
@Matthew Gonzalez not an eagle fan but I am pretty sure Jordan is not the reason why they lost. He was an excellent player

@Matthew Gonzalez So we're not supposed to celebrate the achievement of making it to the superbowl.
Great story. What a beast and an exceptional human being. Imagine trying to run through that man. Ain’t happenin.
I met him once and he is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.
He's a behemoth. An incredible anomaly and even as a Giant's fan, this guy has me smiling that the Eagles are a quality team. Inspiring journey.
None of this would’ve been capable without Jeff stoutland. One of the best OL coaches ever
Jordan probably one of my favorites on the team rn
Rugby League and Rugby Union are two different codes its like comparing Baseball to Softball
I really hope more rugby players like Jordan become nfl players it’s so good to watch
He is not the only player to play in the NFL without playing at a University
The panthers had a guy who only ran track in college. He played DB for them.
So that's not what the video said. I rewatched it to make sure but he said that Mailata is the only NFL player in history who didn't attend university.
This is also incorrect. Eric Swann
@@Flipflopskipskop Yep that’s the player I was thinking of when I made the comment

As an aussie i am seriously happy for Mailata
He really went to ball so hard university 😂
I love him im an eagles fan and I'm a lineman so he's one of my favorite players

Tbh, as much as that looks like holding (and is), those aren’t getting called by NFL refs so O-linemen do it all the time

Otis Sistrunk! Alumni University of Mars
Otis Sistrunk played in the NFL without attending a university. Well, he is famous for going to the University Mars!
There's also an increasing amount of Aussie rugby players who play punter.
