- We had prepped for Roadkill Nights, tested, and went to the Pre-Party. So, we got up early on the race day and headed to Woodward Ave. to get our spots! Badmaro made a decent pass down Woodward and I was ready for more! But, Bamdaro wasn't. Check out our short lived race day, what happened, and take a peek at how the event works!

Sounds like a bad pan design or too little oil clearance on the rods.
Use synthetic oil, you can close up bearing clearances and have 25% less oil temp as well.

Alex ,I think its time to come to grips with the fact that GM motors just cannot deal with your right foot . Its time to swap that thing out for a Ford motor and put your troubles behind you !!!!

get you a winch for the trailer for these kinda things. it sucks having to load up a downed car by yourself....ask me how i know haha! dry sump time maybe?
That's exactly what it sounded like to me listening to her rev at launch. We both agree on an oiling problem... I'm hoping that she is gonna use 20w-50 with 1 quart Slick 50 to smooth it out if she aint already using those grades of oil...
I wasn't looking for a end result like this. You hustle to get badmaro back up and going for this to happen. But yes this is a part of drag racing, I love to hear your spoiler alert though 😄😄.... So once again be happy, go fast and continue to stay pretty. Your a awesome young lady.

Sorry to hear that about "BadMaro"! I heard something not sounding right when you revved it to launch, like not enough oil pressure or something. You'll figure it out for sure & will bounce back strong! Keep your head held high
When the unexpected happens , its how you handle it , you pulled your boot staps up , and some times you just got to grab that bull by the horns , and show who's boss . You will be back stronger , then ever .! Keep smiling !

Chops Shadow there was one. But the battery was dead. We could have taken the one out of the car, butttt it was much more enjoyable to watch them try to push it 😅

Well usually BadMaro always makes up on that trailer on it's own with the help of Alex so getting a motorized winch installed would be a new one for BadMaro...

Alex spun bearings are usually caused by Heavy right foot itis. Very common in drag racing. There's not really a cure. Its gonna happen no matter what.
Who told you that? Proper rod sizing, bearing clearances, oil selection and oil system prevents it. Been building my own race engines nearly 50 years and never have i spun bearings or blown an engine.
Whatever dude Bolting a set of headers to a crate motor doesn't make it a race engine. However if your that good Don Schumacher would love to have you.

I was looking for you the last day of Drag Week and was disheartened to hear on the live feed of some problems getting the better of you. Yeah, stuff happens BTDT built plenty of engines in my time. Chin up, you've got a great attitude and that instinctive understanding that can't be learned. Onward!
Can you help me with my 72 Chevy
we used to use a rule of thumb... 10 lbs. oil pressure for every 1000 RPM. don't know if that is relevant for an LS motor .... I would spin mine to 7500 so minimum 75 LBS. oil pressure otherwise the oil couldn't overcome centrifugal force and bearings would spin.... but no matter what.... if you don't break something your not trying hard enough.... :-)

I used to read about Cruising on Gratiot and Woodward AVE in Detroit .. but had no Idea they actually ever allowed any Supervised Drag racing.. I don't like flag man starts.. can't figure out if there was a light or if you got flagged..
Detonation is your biggest Enemy E-85 is your friend ..

Ow that hurts, it's sad to see Badmaro on the side hurting. But as an old southern boy, I could have told you that you are not properly prepared if you don't have aluminum foil, a hammer, chicken wire and most of all Duct Tape in your toolbox. Without those items, you can't fix anything... Okay I'm an old southern boy living in Minnesota but it's not my fault I'm being held, hostage I promise...
I see you was parked next to my buddy Roy with the big red beast Monte. Sorry to hear you hurt the car. I wish I would of made it to the event to support the cause and support a few of my buddies cars. I hope next yr my fresh build will be done.

RATS!!! I guess that's racin' What brand of bearings do you use?
I am sure they are probably King or equivalent bearings in an engine like that.... A lot of things can cause bearing issues, and boost only amplifies any weakness. Boosted engines no like detonation...maybe that or heat/oiling issue?

You should get a cheap winch and mount it in the trailer for the sad days. It'll help load the poor car in easier. Good luck on you journey!!!

@@doinjusfine1 This past August was the 25th anniversary of the Woodward Dream Cruise. It is held on the 3rd Saturday in August. You'll find many videos on youtube if you're interested.
