Definitely worth it. I remembered when scuf used to do the back buttons and sold it for a crazy amount of money. Then when Microsoft came out with the elite. I knew it was gonna be a big game changer. I’ve had the same controller when it came out. Till the series X came out that’s when i had to replace my controller due to my bumpers being worn out. Overall. It’s great!
I used to destroy the sticks and bumpers on my controllers so I'd buy $20 corded ones. Because a $20 corded controller would last me a month to a month and a half. a $60 one would only last about 2-3 months, so it was cheaper to just buy a super cheap one every couple months. I bought my elite 2 probably over 2 years ago now and it's still going strong. Every issue I've had I've been able to deal with and fix with a little tough love and a few extra hard smacks on the button that's not working, and it started working again perfectly. Thing is bullet proof. Never even have to adjust my dead zones in game or on the controller over that whole period. the sticks just don't drift.
Not to mention I've probably only ever charged the thing 10 times over that 2 years. if that. battery lasts for like 2 weeks of GRINDING. hours every day for 2 weeks straight. if I'm in a period of not gaming much and only use it once or twice a week that thing goes for months at a time.
A friend of mine encountered drift within 2 weeks, that's when I stopped using mine. That being said, if Microsoft were to put hall effect sticks in these things and made the bumpers more robust (surprisingly i don't think I've ever had a bumper issue beyond a dropped xbox 360 controller, but I've read about it enough to know it's a valid problem) I'd probably buy 3 or 4 of them
It’s a great controller.. the only part I hate is that the buttons come off so easily. My kids keep taking them off and losing it if I keep the controller in arms reach.
The elite controller is good only bad thing I've experienced with them is that the bumpers will stop responding after a while and that's common in elite controllers to be honest, but they usually never really get stick drift and the it's easy to take apart and fix the bumpers usually by cleaning them or removing the plastic or both but in some cases just updating the controller itself helps
love how best buy does open box, got a rtx 3050 i5 11th gen laptop for 500$ open box, only bad thing it had was a microscopic screen blemish in the middle of the screen
I bought mine at launch and it's still my daily driver controller. I love the weight to it. I did remove the paddles pretty early on though. Just not my cup of tea lol

My brother in law gives me his broke remotes. I dabble with electronic repair and have gotten pretty good at it but I have 2 brand new controllers at this point for free. Also the controller would be the best on the market if it had Hall effect joysticks
Just set the stick resistance to the highest and you'll never touch it again. The tightest setting is not very tight at all, it's just right. I don't know why you'd ever adjust it back from there.
I’m watching this on Xbox controlling my Xbox is that exact controller the exact same colour? It’s so high-quality it’s got so much good battery life and when you touch it so good
I got my elite controller years ago as an open box from best buy. I got home opened it and the right bumper was gone, no pressure and it didn't work at all. Took It back to best buy and they gave me a brand new one for free, I paid like half the price for it
I absolutely love my Elite Series 2 and I’m looking forward to the Series 3. It took 5 exchanges to get a perfect controller but was more than worth it.
I broke down and bought an elite series 2 and it took less than a year for one of the bumpers to fail. Now I have to press the bumper twice for it to register. Every time. There are the paddles I can use but that just doesn't feel right to me. I've had all Xboxes saved not a single one of them has had problems, aside from drift. I will say that the battery life was incredible, though.

If I didn’t know any better I would say that’s the Best Buy in Southlands off of Aurora Pkwy in Aurora Colorado. However, I do know better because that Best Buy closed a few months ago 😢.
I love Xbox but I've have bad experiences with my Elite Series 2 controller. The rubber grip pads started to peel off, the bumpers became unresponsive unless you press them really hard, and the paddles are so poorly designed that they too stop working after about a year. I had to buy Scuf replacement paddles and they work great. I also bought a rubber cover for the controller to hide the grip peeling.
the only bad thing about it is the bumpers, they’re awful and tend to fail. I had to open mine to fix my RB and is now working fine, other than that, best controller ever, super customizable, rgb home button, the D pad is super confortable to press and I love the other thumbsticks that come with it I managed to find the right combination so it doesn’t hurt my hands when I play for too long lol
My elite controller has been durable as hell im on my second one now im clumsy af i drop it at least once a game session and still have zero stick drift I would 100% recommend it compared to buying a scuff and it arriving with missing buttons and not getting a replacement or a refund
the rubber on my elite series 2 peeled from the left handle like if the adhesive gave out or something. anyway an easy fix would have been to purchase a silicone grip cover which would have held the rubber in place. instead i took some advice from reddit and went the plastics super glue route. the rubber had too much tension and wouldnt stay glued. sure enough i made the situation worse as i glued the left trigger and now it wont pull. oh well looks like im gonna order a new eilte 2 but this time ill get it from xbox design labs
I get 2-3 years out of a standard controller, don’t see why it would be any different with the elite. Just picked one up so I’ll find out I guess. Generally speaking I feel like most people abuse their controllers, death gripping the bumpers, etc.
i do wish sony had put the wireless magnetic charging into the dualsense edge like the elite 2 has i don't remember liking stick tension all that much though
Great controller but i have had to take mine apart 3 times to fix the left bumper which stopped working completely. A little isopropyl alcohol does the trick. Plenty of videos out there to show you how to do it.
Have had mine for a long time now and my only issue has been the rubber grips. They are really nice but over time they have pealed back and are next to impossible to fix. I have babied this controller and has still been one of my all time favorites.
My second elite hasn't broken. My first one did but I was able to replace the stick that had drift. You would think for such an expensive controller MS would use Hall effect sensor control sticks.
I bought this controller and let me tell you know maybe 1-2 months in the back triggers get stuck. Not fully stuck but when you press them you’ll notice it’s a little stuck and it’s annoying
Elite 1 grip started fucking up and separating 6months in for me. Stick drift inly took 4 months. Ill never buy an elite again until they switch to hall effect sticks
Great controller with many features. And for those who complains about the issues of the bumbers or buttons. Just fix it. I paid 25€ incl shipping for fixing the LB
Got one last year at Walmart for regular Xbox controller price. They mis marked the price and had to sell it to me for the lower price. If you find anything mislabeled buy it. They can’t “bait and switch” customers. Thats illegal.
I bought it and then exchanged it for another because the left stick just wasn’t working and the left trigger would hang. Had the exact same issue on the opposite side with the 2nd one I got. Lol. It may have been a fluke but I there was no way I was going to try it a third time. I returned it and got a regular controller and it works perfectly fine.
Verizon sold me the white core controller for half price. So of course I bought two. Then they sold me the component pack for half price so I got one. Total cost $160 😏
I have owned one of these for almost 2 years now. I rarely use it as I am a pc gamer, but I like to play single player games on controllers. My model had ok stick drift out of the box (expected from Xbox nowadays😢). I dealt with that but now I have to have deadzone set at about 10% and probably after 6 months the bumpers started to fail without pressing firmly. Note the bumpers are basically useless and I have the paddles set to act as them and the stick drift is still ok. I bought a ps5 controller in July and haven’t looked back 😂 The ps5 controller feels cheaper but also more durable somehow which is odd considering the elite felt like a tank when I first got it
RB/LB had issues pretty quick, bought new switches from aliexpress and had to solder them, was a nightmare but I got it fiex. A button is crap, B button got a bit better after I cleaned the controller. Those issues shouldn't be there for that price. I can't wait for the gulikit one which has 4 back buttons. I hope microsofts next controller won't have it's button issues. Then I might give it a try.
Question tho... Why do people return this controller a lot? I just don't understand why this would happen if the controller here is in such perfect working condition... ?????
Mine had stick drift out of the box and the a button sometimes didnt recognize. Its very sad because i would really like to have those pedales in the back but i cant play with stick drift and an a Button which sometimes doesnt recognizw
I bought the series 2 around the time it was full price and gave it to my daughter to play with. The controller has a slight drift. And now the bottom small pad button won't stay inside the controller and press. The satisfying click it used to have is no more. The hinge won't stay in place.😅 kinda sucks. But what can I do right? I've already traded in for a new one with the warranty. I sent it in. A few days later Xbox told the store that sold me the controller to just give me a new one. 😅 cool.
These usually last me about 12-18 months. Still my favorite controller for FPS games. However, not a big fan of the cable-the connector piece on it gets wobbly after a while. I'd also get the OG Elite 2 over the later-released colored ones though-the colored ones don't have the soft-touch rubber feel.
Not sure about the white. To be clear, they all have the grip texture on the handles ... however, I know for sure the black ones have a soft-toich texture everywhere else; whereas the red/blue ones feel like a cheaper plastic. Good luck!
Got mine for $110, in an open box “like new” state. I’m a PC guy, and bought this for fighting and racing games only, but then I just bought a Thrustmaster racing wheel, pedals and shifter, as well as an arcade fight stick. So now my elite controller is basically useless, it’s just collecting dust atm 🤔
If it's something expensive that you know you're gonna use a lot, that's when the warranty is actually worth it. This advice goes for more than just controllers too
i got one for Christmas, it ran down since i got it. It had stick drift than the one of the bumpers didn’t work, now the right joystick doesn’t work. Im getting a core controller cuz i dont want to deal with it again, but i might have the same issues with it again.
Had the series 1 and it broke about 7 months of owning it and Xbox sent me another one that was a refurbished one and it lasted maybe 2-3 months and they refused to take it back and fix it so mine is just sitting in its case with all it hardware not getting used. And I miss using this controller. It was a good pro controller.
Ive had mine about a week. Played with it maybe 4 times. I dont like it very much. Grips feel weird and when using the trigger locks set to the max setting, while aiming down sights it will randomly go back to hip fire
i bought 2 of these and returned them both. The left stick didnt click in properly if you pushed down in the top left of the stick. Felt horrible and got my 200 bucks back.

What about the white one? Love this controller but i need that grippy grip😅
Not sure about the white. To be clear, they all have the grip texture on the handles ... however, I know for sure the black ones have a soft-toich texture everywhere else; whereas the red/blue ones feel like a cheaper plastic. Good luck!
Can you show us more of the rog ally
Got mine for $110, in an open box “like new” state. I’m a PC guy, and bought this for fighting and racing games only, but then I just bought a Thrustmaster racing wheel, pedals and shifter, as well as an arcade fight stick. So now my elite controller is basically useless, it’s just collecting dust atm 🤔
My $250 scuf controller got stuck drift 3 months into owning it. I’ve been using it for a year now, it’s too expensive to buy a new one.
If it's something expensive that you know you're gonna use a lot, that's when the warranty is actually worth it. This advice goes for more than just controllers too
I just bought one today and it as mild stickdrift
Nice video
i got one for Christmas, it ran down since i got it. It had stick drift than the one of the bumpers didn’t work, now the right joystick doesn’t work. Im getting a core controller cuz i dont want to deal with it again, but i might have the same issues with it again.
perhaps because it's the most widely used?
I don't know how you do it, but I've never had any problems with it.
I wonder why? I have ps5 controller, switch pro controller, ps4 controller, backbone but i love to use this to play almost of my games 😅
Can u add paddles to a normal Xbox controller?
Great controllers but I see why it’s returned often either due to loss in interest with gaming as a whole, or think the controller is a bit much
Not me thinking the text notification was mine. 💀🥲
Had it for a month and a half and left stick work when it wants🥲🥲🥲 like 1 time on 10💀
Ive had mine about a week.
Love your videos man
Thank you so much! Hope you have a great day
I especiallylove your nintendo switch videos
I’ve killed 3 LBs, happy to have had protection though
I still have my launch version and it still works fine
