Yeah, they made the only fix for stupid illegal and did their damnedest to make sure stupid couldn't fix itself. Starting to think that eliminating stupid is the only/main benefit of war. I mean as much as I hate to say it but, unless we start letting natural selection do its job, war may be the only means left to keep stupid within reasonable parameters. Otherwise Idiocracy becomes more of a prophecy than a comedic warning. I don't know bout you, but I'd rather not have my future descendent not know (if nothing else at least) how to read, write, do basic math and understand basic earth science. These people are proof positive that if you don't prevent stupid before it takes root, then there is only one solution; because you can't argue with stupid, you can't educate stupid, and stupid doesn't go away. It just multiplies until either it dies or something (car, choking, mugging gone wrong, etc.) kills it. Honestly it's sad that stupid has such a nature but I don't make the rules, nature (God, Allah, Gaia, Mother Nature call reality what you want) does.

Well, when I was growing up, at some point spanking became labeled as “child abuse” so….not surprised my generation is so dumb and childish. Luckily, the spanking already took effect for me by the time it got that label.

My favorite and most frustrating interaction with my democrat family on this stuff was about the Ukraine impeachment. Big claim of him pressuring other countries with threats of withholding aid. I provided the video evidence of Biden admitting to doing exactly that. The response back was... "well it was for a good reason" so it literally doesnt matter WHAT trump does... only because they dont agree with why. You could sell America to china for all they care if its "for a good reason" to these people. The most frustrating part is I am not even a Trump supporter... I just hate hypocrisy and tribalism.
Got work colleagues, the same. Everytime I bring up a fact, they want to shut it down straight away, especially now with the jabs. They're all postive, I'm testing negative, everyday. One works in front, one behind, another to the side of me. The fourth desk is vacant. All got the jab and the flu shot. All now at home for a week, me back to work as usual.

I used to work in a psychiatric unit and 30 years ago, they all would have been inpatients. Sadly our mental health system is lacking these days and they allow these types of people to live amongst common society, when clearly they need to be assessed and medicated.

Because people can not think for themselves if they agree or disagree with something, without the information crucial to know what the protest is about. Poor communication does not make changes!! That's why they're out there fighting like wild baboons, while Martin Luther King, was a disciplined, respectable, intelligent man that made speeches that still carry an important message to this day, and helped change the world for the better!! And that's the difference between a mature individual with brains and a clear cause to fight for and these loud mouthed, mysogynistic muppets that are making a fool of themselves on the corner of a street.
That's what you get when the ideas they shout out are someone else's ideas, they can't debate the topics because they literally don't understand what they're espousing. If they took the time to formulate their own ideas through research and education they'd be able to know what they're talking about.

This is why the NPC meme works so well. You used to have to actually explain your position, but these people actually believe they don't need to because they're just "correct", even though they have no way of knowing they're correct. Their friends who agree with them just enelessly reinforce their views.
I used to debate with religious people on a few pages. Not formally on a debate stage, but it got very extensive, involved dissecting sources, arguments, counter arguments, and a lot of complex thought. The religious people I debated with for years are so similar in how they think as these far left activists, but the traditionally religious ones had better thoughts and were actually willing to articulate their thoughts. I didn't agree with them, but I at least could understand why they believed what they did.
These woke clowns have basically a secular faith based belief system, but endlessly and proudly skirt around any type of logic and couldn't care less how completely absurd and unfalsifiable their statements are. The new left has created a religion for itself. And the real irony is, they don't even notice.
My take away from those experiences is if you aren't willing to subject your views to any scrutiny, they aren't worth my time to entertain in the first place.

@Dethones, out of curiosity, what was your reason for debating religion? Were you coming from an atheist stance? I’m just trying to understand the whole situation, because it seems like an interesting topic to discuss. I definitely know that there are hardcore religious zealots, but I would imagine that (much like the political landscape) most people are very moderate in their willingness to discuss religious views. It would be a difficult topic to debate because religion is based on faith, which by definition means that people (for the most part) can only backup their arguments with things they believe through faith. No one can prove or disprove the existence of God. Again, I’m just curious as to the “why” in regards to debating religion.

@@alikhat1647 I grew up as an atheist. Was at a ripe age for the "New Atheist" movement. I had some problems with some of the things religion was doing. I never sought out religious people in some "debate me, bro" fashion though. I was and always have been a curious person. I like to inquire, and consider things as deeply as I can. To figure out why people think what they think, or believe what they believe. I'm like the kid who asks "why" repeatedly because I seek to understand. Not fundamentally "win", or anything like that. I guess you could say I'm more Socratic by nature.
I've had ups and downs in my own personal view of religions. I can see their positives and negatives. Ultimately, I just enjoy thinking about complicated stuff. I enjoy logic, reasoning, exchanging ideas, seeing what makes someone tick. Back when I was debating a lot with religious people, at was only those who voluntarily came to atheist pages online. I never went to religious ones. I'd have discussions with religious solicitors knocking on my door, or protesting, or handing out their material. I figured if they're going to advertise their belief system in such a way, they must be willing and ready to discuss why they have such beliefs. Kind of like trying to sell a product. If you expect someone to spend their hard earned money on your product, you can't reasonably expect them to just have no level of skepticism. Convince me to buy it.
Most religious people are just chillin, living out their lives, and I might have a more relaxed conversation with someone like that about religion, if at all. The average joe type guy or lady who goes to church or something, and thats that.
I always did my best to try to remain civil and respectful. I wasn't interested in trolling or being a malicious hypocrite. I just wanted to sharpen my thinking and reasoning. I learned a lot of useful things from all that interaction. Its also trained me to spot good and bad reasoning. The hallmarks of faith systems, fallacies, and the biggest take away being that if you aren't willing to try to explain/defend your position, it doesn't deserve my consideration to begin with. Specifically in regard to protesters or solicitors. Which is why the woke type who hold up their signs, but then say stuff like "it isn't my job to educate you", just masks me want to laugh in response and say "then I couldn't care less what your views are, or what your signs say. Have a nice day".
These people aren't serious about changing the world in a positive way. They're just doing what they're told without thinking. Their beliefs are paper thin. Although its structured very similarly to a religion, I've met many religious people with pretty good and well thought out reasons to believe what they do. So at least I can have some sort of reapect for them in that sense. In the majority of cases though, it has repeatedly boiled down to faith. A fear of death is a big motivator too. A lot of religious people seem to have a very difficult time finding a source of morality outside of a religious foundation, and are terrified at the idea of ceasing to exist.
Anyway, that was a long comment. Sorry about that.
