    Did you try moving the adjuster to #5 before the swap???? Men need more preload adjustment for their weight.😮

      I did not. I’m not too heavy only weigh about 165. The aftermarket shock allows for more adjustments. Plus it allows the rear to feel a lot more planted and less bouncy.

    Grind off the mount arms, get the Norton brackets, and hit the OEM arms with PJ1 frame black.

      I may get around to all that. I bought the Norton adapter but it was taking forever to arrive so I canceled it. It’s not causing any issues plus it’s underneath and not really noticeable so not too worried about it

    Excellent video bro! Very informative and clear. Can I ask how much do you weigh? Did the rear height stay about the same?

    • @Rex1000_RR
      @Rex1000_RR ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I weight 165. The rear height is slightly higher but I don’t notice much difference. I feel a lot more planted in the rear which makes a world of difference when pushing the bike

    Hi,why do you need to flip the bracket if the shocks are the same length ?

    • @Rex1000_RR
      @Rex1000_RR 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the aftermarket shock you’re using is the same length then you do not. Can just switch out the shocks without having to mess with the brackets at all

    Approximately how long did this take to do? Thanks!

      Not long , took me a couple hours but I had my two y/o “helping” me and had to mess with my exhaust brackets

      @@Rex1000_RR Have you noticed much of a change in handling characteristics from raising the back of the bike? I don't know how much it applies to a bike the size of the 400 but it should in theory make the bike turn in faster and decrease straight line stability? Just wondering how much it changes the handling before I order the Spears brackets.

    • @Rex1000_RR
      @Rex1000_RR ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ryan_H22 honestly not really but it’s hard to say because now that the rear is more planted you can push it more both off the line and on turns. Def recommend switching the fork oil to a heavier weight too tho to help with that stability unless you’re able to get cartridges.

      @Ryan_H22 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rex1000_RR Cool, thanks. I think I'm going to do the shock swap and just flip the stock mounts for now and if I don't like the feel of the bike I'll get the Spears mounts.
      Did you go to a heavier fork oil? If so what weight? Thanks!

      @@Ryan_H22 sounds like a good plan. I haven’t switched the oil yet but I’ve seen people switch to 15wt for the front
