Food is the USA is all preservatives, additives and god knows what other chemicals to keep it fresh.... You can leave a loaf of bread sitting out for weeks on end and its still usuable 🤣
I should add, the Irish people, they have great pride in their culture & in their food, hence why the food's so fresh & so good. I often hear negative things about Irish food, specifically from the past, but this is now 2023 & the foodie industry/scene has done a complete 360 degrees! We're off to Ireland later this year & we'll have much time to enjoy the country that literally "saved" me when I felt very down many moons ago. The sweet images of Ireland were just a dream back then & I so yearned to go there. I can only ever smile when I think of Ireland & it's special inhabitants.🙂 Ireland, you bring me great joy & you're forever in my heart. I love you Ireland.💚
The negative things about Irish food were true when I was there. Other than a traditional Irish breakfast and Irish brown bread, the food that I experienced in Ireland was horrible.
@sassyt1545 As someone who was born & reared in Ireland I can truly say the food I was brought up in consisted of much more than brown bread & an Irish breakfast , stews here are so good as is our seafood ,Ireland is an agricultural Island so our food is from the farm to the table ,& our seafood is some of the best in the world, I've travelled a lot to the USA ,Canada & to many countries in Europe &Irelands food is up there with the brst of them ,our dairy food is one of the best in the world not full of additives or preservatives .
A new subscriber here. Ahhhh beautiful Ireland! A wonderful episode guys! I hope & pray that the Irish always hold strongly onto their rich & long standing historic culture, because once too much of their culture's washed away via modernisation, then it's lost forever & that, would be a very sad day. Of course, this applies to all global cultures. Thanks for sharing & it's great to see that you guys really enjoyed yourselves.
Definitely love irish food. I want to try it. I haven't had irish food too often except for the usual beef stew, roast lamb or cabbage & beef but haven't had others. I'm used to filipino, spanish, portuguese or italian food but irish foods just looks so tasty and delicious. I can get used to eating irish food daily and also full scottish breakfast meals. I love food that keeps you full and strong. 😊
My wife and I spent a week in Athenry last April. Took the train from Dublin; passed through Athlone but never made our way back to see the town. What a mistake!
Never heard of black and white pudding in a coddle born and reared in Dublin for my whole family it’s bacon and pork sausage boiled with potato, carrots, onion, and tomato soup is optional. A bit of salt and white pepper delicious on a cold day😋
EVERY meal my wife and I had in three trips, totaling 2 months, was excellent, fresh and outstanding. (Except for the one meal we ate at an "American" restaurant...)😄
You can get it anywhere in the U.K.- all tearooms and a lot of other places sell it eg Marks and Spencer. Just ask for Victoria Sponge. Easy to make also, just a sponge sandwiched with jam and cream.
How were other customers eating the fish “the hot one”? Same way you were, like a taco or pita? Just curious, not being critical if they ate it a different way.
We're heading to Ireland end of this year, so we will check out this wonderful eatery. I'm writing down a list of places to eat at, plus places to enjoy tea & cake. The Queen of Tarts sounds really nice, so too another tea house, but right now, I cannot remember the name unfort. I want to experience the joy of Christmas in Ireland, spent with the wonderful Irish locals. We cannot wait! :-)
Don't get hung up on trad irish food Very few eat bangers and mash and Stew. These are from a time when we were poor now the normal fare is international.
@@andrewruddy962 mutton was a typical staple during the Potato famine as were root vegetables like turnips, sweet potatoes, parsnips, beets, carrots, onions, shallots, radishes. These are all healthy vegetables and good for your health. They add these for with mutton for delicious stews, soups and casseroles for flavoring.
@@WalterWhite-nq7jt , I agree with you. I could classified as an eccentric and I am a vegan. So why did so many Irish people starve to death when the sea was full of food.
@@andrewruddy962you need to read a little about the Great Hunger. Those who lived near the Sea had long sold their fishing boats and fishing gear to buy food. You’re also assuming the majority of the population lived close to the Sea. And by close I mean close enough to be able to walk. The elephant in the room is the sheer amount of food exported to England during the Great Hunger. Food to pay rent on land confiscated by the British in the first case and settled by absentee landlords who lived in Britain. The catastrophe that was the Great Hunger was largely man-made but the ability of the Irish to live from the Sea is pretty tenuous as a principal if you understand the true hardship the entire population went through.
Ireland has similar food to Britain, stews, shepherd's pie, fish and chips, sausage and chips, mash potato, I wouldn't fancy American food though it's full of chemicals, they can only eat organic, in Britain and Ireland we can eat both, our crops are not sprayed with rubbish our chickens are not soaked in chlorine.
Well, heck, I didn't enjoy the live music. : ( I watched for hours you guys stuffing your faces with fabulous food, but I did not get to hear the music. I'm disappointed. boo hoo.
Guinness is one of my favorite beers besides Heineken, Becks, Amstell, Samuel Adams, Rickards Red, Corona, Red Horse, and others. Cheers 🍻 or Skol, Skål, Skál, or Skoal.
@@AdamandMadalyn -- Fish looks delicious anyways. I was just curious because I may try to buy a portion in a fish market to cook at home in a different recipe. Thanks.
Dublin has 2 protestant cathedrals. St patricks cathedral which you visited and christ church cathedral the last shot before galway yet no catholic cathedral even though we have always been a predominately catholic country. Dean Oliver Swift who was dean of st patricks wrote gullivers travels (the park is named after him

European food tastes totally different in Europe than in USA

I did not hear a word you said in Kelley's because I was listening to yer won at the next table washing her friends laundry in public.
Ha those ladies were very nice but yes they were definitely having a chat
Great vlog by the way. Made me miss home. I am going to watch Scotland next.
Hey kiddos, read/listen to: How the Irish Saved Civilization.
Only 15 mins in and I love it.
So much more to our island than Guinness and getting drunk.
Although that's called for at times too 😂

Our food has always been good. We've some of the best produce in the world, due to our climate, seasonality & our farm to fork regime.

I think it’s turnip not sweet potatoes
you should have kept going south to Ireland´s food capital "West Cork" the best produce and some of the best resturants in the country in my opinion
Kinsale, especially!

Go to Poland 🇵🇱 you will love it. Krakow to be exact
The brazen head isn't the oldest pub in Ireland, that'd be Sean's bar in athlone, County Westmeath 👍
The Brazen is steeped in Irish history
My wife and I spent a week in Athenry last April. Took the train from Dublin; passed through Athlone but never made our way back to see the town. What a mistake!
Snug bars were for women, as they weren't allowed in main bar, main bar was men only.
Never heard of black and white pudding in a coddle born and reared in Dublin for my whole family it’s bacon and pork sausage boiled with potato,
carrots, onion, and tomato soup is optional. A bit of salt and white pepper delicious on a cold day😋
Just saw another video claiming a bar called Sean's was the oldest bar serving beer since 900 AD.
Ireland is indeed beautiful!!! It was a bit of a turn off watching the guy eat with is mouth open.
How else is he supposed to eat 😅
Shepherds pie made with lamp mince, cottage pie made with beef mince
We will be going to Ireland this summer. Taking notes to see how many dishes I can cross off the list!
EVERY meal my wife and I had in three trips, totaling 2 months, was excellent, fresh and outstanding. (Except for the one meal we ate at an "American" restaurant...)😄
Ohhhh, I need to figure out how to make the gravy for the bangers & mash! Enjoyed your entire video.
Usually its a caramelised red onion sauce
Oh my goodness, I want to go to Dublin just for the Queen Victoria cake 😋
You can get it anywhere in the U.K.- all tearooms and a lot of other places sell it eg Marks and Spencer. Just ask for Victoria Sponge. Easy to make also, just a sponge sandwiched with jam and cream.
You'll never find Queen Victoria cake in Ireland. She's known as the Famine Queen here..
Dough brothers won best pizza in Europe I believe..
cant believe you crossed a bridge in dublin without a junkie beggar on it
You got lucky with the weather..July was the wettest on record!
Yep ive developed rust

Most Irish people wouldnt eat coddle either!!
My family version is devoured by my brothers in law. Ive never heard of black pudding in a coddle either

D fuck are u talking about u mog ,stews are eaten every day all over 😂
it"s lamb in the stew , not beef!
Lamb, Goat, Sheep, Mutton, whatever if it's good and delicious, I'll eat it more than twice 😋 😜
And beef. Any meat available . Lamb was the least expensive. So you are correct and incorrect at the same time.

I liked the look of the batter on the fish in Dublin but wasn't keen on the batter on the ring of Kerry it was soft looking, I like it crispy

What kind of camera are you using?
Avoid Temple Bar as the only people that you will meet are tourists.

Wonder what they drank back in them days, no cocktails anyways
I've never once had a sub-optimal fish dish here in Ireland, not once.
We are an island after all, if we can't do fish right we should just give up.
Like any city, just be alert to pick pockets in Temple Bar. Apart from that , have FUNN!!!
Im irish i love irish food but would not eat coddle yuk 😅
Coddle is the food of the gods
My fiancé loves coddle we are from Scotland 😊
I had it for the first time at Gravediggers pub in April. LOVED it! Have experimented with it here at home. Getting close to what they served.
Gravediggers is a great pub
@muri134 yes being there but not tries coddle I can't stand boiled Sasuages lol
Are you sure it was Irish food ?
Hardly any Irish left all illegal immigrants.
