    Can this be taken as an reference for the Honda C90?

      I’m not positive its the same motor, but I’m sure they’re very similar.

    Do the new springs make the shifting more crisp? Also that disc you scuffed with scotch brite, I’m guessing it helps minimize slippage when shifting. I am in the middle of taking mine apart, shifting from 1st to 2nd was requiring several firm stomps on the shifting lever to get 2nd gear to catch. Thanks for the video, very helpful!

      Yes I scratched it to just help it bite better. And dont quote me on this but I assume if the springs are weak the clutch plates will allow it to slip I can’t remember. It could be your shifter shaft that is worn which could be causing the issues with shifting. While its still apart check out my video on the shifter shaft replacement on a ATC 90 it helps explain what to look for on your 90 to see if that might be worn and worth replacing also.

    Make sure you soak the friction disks in oil for 24 hrs prior to installing

    Thanks for the video! Do I need to drain fuel?

      Just ordered a manual impact driver. Couldn’t even take the cover off. Should be here in a few hours. 🙏🏼

      If you have a full tank probably should if its under half a tank you should be fine as long as your petcock works.

    I think I’m encountering the problem that you mentioned. When I attempt to kick start the motor, more times than not, it doesn’t turn over the engine. I feel resistance, but the engine only gives a few weak sputters. The previous owner gave me a quart of oil when I got the bike, and it was cheap automotive type. Do you think the clutch plates have been negatively affected by the use of incorrect oil? And did this fix your problem? The engine runs strong once I start it by bumping it into gear while coasting down a hill. Thanks in advance.

      It possibly could, but Its probably more than just oil choice. You should dig into it and replace those parts. It would probably be under $100 to do it all. Happy wrenching.

      @@procyclerepair yea I plan on taking it apart and looking into it…what else do you think could be causing this issue? Poor meshing on starting gear?

    • @procyclerepair
      @procyclerepair  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I think it’s exactly what I replaced on this bike. When you take it apart you will see the gears for the kick starter and you’ll easily be able to tell if theres lots of teeth missing. But I think it will be fine! 🤙

      Tore the bike down right now. The clutch plates have disintegrated, will definitely replace them. Thanks for the help.
