I really enjoyed her session(s) with the Funk Brothers. Those guys, who was the Band for hundreds of Motown hits, and Joan performed as one, each doing their part perfect and effortless. Love the expertise of old timers.🎶🎵
I totally agree! She is amazing! I can't believe I just discovered her. After hearing "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted", I have been digging into more of her songs. She is fantastic on all of them!!!!
Underestimated? By who? You.! I agree that she showed a feel for this song. Well done. But she performs a piece based on her impression of the Stones version. That is O.K. Most covers pass through music this way. Most band would have screwed it up. But the real test is do you have the willingness to find and play and enjoy the original? That’s how you learn. Slim Harpo was better than any of the copiers. My bet is that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards would agree.
She can sing anything and make it rock! Just watched her in the documentary about the The Funk Brothers, the group of musicians who created the original Motown sound. She was incredible...wow!
She is in the zone and enjoying every second, That is a perfect performance there is nothing strained or forced just pure vocal power that very few could match, I think a lot of upcoming Female singers could do themselves a huge favour and study this lady’s talent and if they can be even a quarter as good then they have talent too.
I have only followed Joan for a few years. What excitement on this video! She has an amazing ability to sing virtually anything and make it very special - wonderful!
While I had listened to, and loved, her hit single, "One of Us", I'd never heard her other stuff. Joan Osborne is the missing piece of my musical life. She should be on Mt. Rushmore.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
I've been looking for remakes from one of my all time favorite LPs - Exile on Main St. from the Rolling Stones. This performance by Joan Osborne was a totally unexpected find - and a total bright spot among songs I've found. Great job Joan!!!!
It's been a while since I last heard from her, but let me tell you she still has the Voice and the Rythm. A True Artist. All the Love from Peru for her
Well, about to turn 72, a Stones chartered member since 1962! But Ms. Osborne's version re-sets the clock, screws with every sensibility and makes me feel 22!
This lady is absolutely fabulous...my kind of girl. !!! She is "One of a kind" !! No othercan give the heart and soul into each and every song ... she feels what she sings...nobody holds a candle next to her !
This fucking rocks. I'm a Death Metal guy at core but I tell you that this performance/song have more intensity than most in mentioned genre. This is awesome.
So damn good! Can't tell you how many times I've replayed this video. Album version is good... but every time I listen to it now, I long for the last minute of this performance!
Dang, this song makes me feel little a wild child on a Harley, on an open road. Cheers! To true soul !!!! Girl, Ms. Joan you are deep!!!! And I love that! -CR this video moved me like a wolf!
can't believe one of my favorite female artist is covering one of my farvortie sounds from one of my favorit albums by one of my favorite groups.....ROCK ON
I used to make my own music cassettes for driving the highway. Now I make zip drives. I've put Joan's "Shake Your Hips" between Mark Knopfler's "Don't You Get It" and Robert Randolph and the Family Band's "Squeeze". I think that will do nicely at 120 Klicks :)
EMERALD451 hi there , without meaning to be rude, grammys are no indication of talent, sure some great musicians have grammys, but many more do not and get along fine without! cheers
EMERALD451 hi there , without meaning to be rude, grammys are no indication of talent, sure some great musicians have grammys, but many more do not and get along fine without! cheers
Spring of '95 or so, Birmingham Alabama music festival and Joan came out in a dress and combat boots and blew everyone away. It was iconic. Year or so later took some clients to see her in Atlanta and she did it again. They still talk about it.
Her band was on my train after this set at The Peak i was talking with them and they comped me tickets for a show at Tarrytown music hall a few days later real cool dudes
I've mostly listened to other genres of music, but ever since I heard the "Relish" album on CD, (man, does that beat MP3 & TH-cam music file compression rates let me tell you) from beginning to end on my Grundig boombox, I was hooked. I don't know if this is the same drummer that played on "Relish", but I had never heard beats like on that album. As an amateurish drummer, I can't help but get impressed. I feel like his choice on when to hit the kick drum and when to hit the rim clicks, and just tightness on the meter, ... the blend-in factor with the band on that album is just something to behold as a music fan. A real pro!! A born drummer. It's the backbone of the band and adds so much spice to the band all at once. That's what I call difficult and awesome to pull off on drums, in any genre of music.
I really enjoyed her session(s) with the Funk Brothers. Those guys, who was the Band for hundreds of Motown hits, and Joan performed as one, each doing their part perfect and effortless. Love the expertise of old timers.🎶🎵
I loved the Stones version but this blew that out of the water. Been a Joan fan since "Right Hand Man", her voice is amazing
This woman has been completely underestimated all this time. All of a sudden I'm this huge fan.
"One of Us" was a really good tune by Joan also. You should give it a listen if you haven't already.
I totally agree! She is amazing! I can't believe I just discovered her. After hearing "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted", I have been digging into more of her songs. She is fantastic on all of them!!!!
Sorry you missed her get her relish album I’ve been a fan since the 90s and my band covered 3 of her songs she’s amazing

@@jimbrewer498 that really was her only hit. I don't know why?
Shes a great singer with great stage presence... and this band was on fire.... wow
She is not acting, she is not in music, music is in her.
Well said my friend!!
A fine artist and a very fine song ❤ 😎🎵🎵🎵
She can sing anything and make it rock! Just watched her in the documentary about the The Funk Brothers, the group of musicians who created the original Motown sound. She was incredible...wow!
Hey, that band is so hot too.
Joan singing What Becomes of the Broken Hearted with the Funk Bros the best.
One of my favorites! Hi Joan! You are the best!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Joan is just entirely too much to take! What a hip singer she is. Glad she is around to show us what rock and roll is all about. Love you Joan!
This is what a group of true pros looks like in the studio. Joan is my favorite blues singer out there.
She is in the zone and enjoying every second, That is a perfect performance there is nothing strained or forced just pure vocal power that very few could match, I think a lot of upcoming Female singers could do themselves a huge favour and study this lady’s talent and if they can be even a quarter as good then they have talent too.

If you like her version you should listen to the Stones version
@@paradiswest4395 Thank you. Never heard it.
Listen to Cracker "Nothing to Believe In" Joan sings back up, and I think you'll be impressed.

I've been looking for remakes from one of my all time favorite LPs - Exile on Main St. from the Rolling Stones. This performance by Joan Osborne was a totally unexpected find - and a total bright spot among songs I've found. Great job Joan!!!!

I still get chills every time I hear this perfomance.
How can you possibly find so many artists in the same room?.
Well, about to turn 72, a Stones chartered member since 1962! But Ms. Osborne's version re-sets the clock, screws with every sensibility and makes me feel 22!
This lady is the real deal
My lord !!! what else can I say ???? She's phenomenal !!!!! love her
No matter what song she sings, she owns it. Amazing talent.
What a powerful voice! And that band can jam!!
I never paid much attention to Joan Osborne before but I'm a HUGE fan now. AWESOME version
I just like watching her move to the music... She is an amazing singer
Maybe the best version of this song ever, no matter how many greats have done it
No doubt its a great version 👌 but John Lee hookers original version is still the best.
Looks like the whole band are getting INTO IT!!🤩😃
As good or better than the Stone’s version.
Hell Yeah ! Blues,Rock and Jazz sprinkled in there So Good ,Real Music Old school Keep Rockin Joan !
Really Loving this song Joan! can't get enough !
luv Joan Osborne - one of the most versatile singers on the planet - there is nothing she cannot sing, and amazingly! The new album is awesome.
Queen of the Boogie. Never in my life have I heard a woman do a boogie with this kind of energy. Unreal!
Have watched this countless times over the past few years - amazing energy on this song and great video!
Love, KPLU (Seattle)
Co-signed!
The woman with the hips, telling us just how it's done. Love it.
The more I listen to her the more I love her, one of the best.
Joan Osborne in full flight, Hammond Organ, hard driving band...what could be better
Having Robert Randolph on slide would have added to it. :-)
Amazing, just perfect! You can sense the very energy that they had. It will be one of my favorites after the "right hand man" song.
This lady is absolutely fabulous...my kind of girl. !!! She is "One of a kind" !! No othercan give the heart and soul into each and every song ... she feels what she sings...nobody holds a candle next to her !

Blues pumpin' in her veins - way to go girl !
Just love this lady been a massive fan for many years
Dang, Girl! You can truly make a band and a tune come together as one. Wow! What a vibe...thank you so much for moving my soul, really need that. 🙌
70 years old I love Joan Osborne
This fucking rocks. I'm a Death Metal guy at core but I tell you that this performance/song have more intensity than most in mentioned genre. This is awesome.
You know when a song or sound hits you from a genre you don't normally listen to that it's powerful
same amazing voice she's always had. great version of this classic.
Love when the bass comes in on the second verse. Feels like a heart beating fast.
Any time she performs is worth seeing.
Love love her sound!!
So damn good! Can't tell you how many times I've replayed this video. Album version is good... but every time I listen to it now, I long for the last minute of this performance!
Explosive, dynamic ... she is on her way, we love you Joan .... you are real who truly represent free America ! No diagnostic, no illumination ( te )
What a beautiful soul this woman has! Beautiful dimples too! Wow!
This is bloody brilliant; even better than the Stones' version. Thanks for posting.
Think this is good, listen to the Slim Harpo original, case you want your mind blown. :)
waay better
I like this 2nd best.
And she can sing anything. I have a beautiful country album by her. She can rock, she can sing the blues, and she can nail country songs as well.
One of the best performers singing one of R ‘n R’s best. This might be better than the Stones.
Utter class love it well done
nailed it.nicework.Joan got it going on.
Outstanding, also the back-up musicians are excellent*********
BEST female singer in the world and the hottest!!
Amazing stuff.....ive been a fan for years....so happy there is a new album.

Jim Gentry. Slim Harpo track covered by the Stones. Slim Harpo and Joan are far better versions than Stones
My dear Joan. Just lovely.
flat-out phenomenal song from a flat-out phenomenal album. Joan really "brings it on home".
She's amazing. She should be a much more appreciated singer.

She Has Been "The Real Deal" Since I First saw Her In The 90s. Loved Her Then LOVE her Still. =PERFECT !!
Joan is such a badass - Have all her albums but I can't stop listening to this one
Slim Harpo is shaking his hips to this. Love the old blues.
Wow, what a jam session. I would pay money to see them.
Why haven't I heard of her ? Does she have a Grammy ?

She has taken 'Shake Your Hips', to a whole new level. Most of the time, I usually like the original song more than the remake, but not in this case.
Her band is awesome too.
Yes, the band is terrific.
Great job,love your voice
Joan's been my crush since 1995.
love this version!

This voice... How could she be anything else but a signer?
f....ing awsome band!
She sends me on a musical journey every time I hear her sing.
Not sure what it is but Joan most definitely has it....
Wow! What a great performance!
incredible grove. The original version of any song is the best. This version gets as close to the stones as is possible. Beauty.
So... where do you rank Slim Harpo?
youngsters think white folks invented blues....
As the original!
Of course the original is by Slim Harpo 1966
Totally cooks! I love her version of the Sonny Boy Williiamson II classic "Help Me"!
