I have to say I am a HUGE sci-fi fan, stories, movies, and art... so I wasn't worried when you said it had a sci-fi vibe at the start. It looked beautiful to me. ;) Anyway that dark coloring turned out perfect and makes complete sense. What a magical scene you created here. I absolutely love it.
