Hey mate, cheers for the shout out all the way from the US! The T7 looks like an awesome bike, one I plan to get in years to come - but only to compliment the DRZ... doubt I'll ever sell this one! As long as you've got case savers on, the DRZ doesn't really mind being dropped hey. The safari tank seems to be pretty strong too - have had a couple of heavy offs and it's protected the radiators well. Enjoy the bike mate, and hope you stick around the channel - we should be getting back into the single tracks in the next couple of weeks!

Cheers mate. Was my first attempt at videoing haha Good tanks, but I have upgraded my suspension for extra weight (camp gear also). So might be something to consider with your WR, or maybe you can stiffen yours up a bit. Good luck 🍻
What i did was the 4 gallon IMS tank. And with the moskomoto reckless 80, it has two pockets for 2 MSR fuel cans each. So that adds about another gallon. Spread the weight out better. I have gone on week plus long remote rides. Never needed even to add fuel. But then again, we do not have the wide open spaces here in the untited states like you have down there.
Nice one mate. Sounds like you've got the system that suits you well. Everything is a compromise - just have to go with the most pros and least cons that suit your purpose. Appreciate your comment, hopefully helps some others out 👍
Thanks for the comment mate. Just to let you know, since that vid I did find the tank affected handling in tight terrain and when loaded with camp gear... had suspension upgraded and it has made a massive improvement - however, I now have a 300 2t for enduro and only use the DRZ for adventure riding nowdays. All the best.
My pleasure.... thanks for watching. Only thing I'll say since, is that I fid start to notice the weight/bulk when in tight off camber trails. Still happy with it though ✊️

Great bikes mate. I'll probably never sell mine. But it's been relegated to an adventure bike these days as bit heavy and tall for techincial tracks. No real idea on $$$. Depends on year (all the same anyway) and mods.
hi mate, might sounds a stupid question but here we go: how do you acess the fuel left on the oposite to the petcock? or does it has 2 petcocks? cheers
Hello. I'm thinking of getting this tank. Question: Do you notice if with this tank, the center of gravity feels lower? Let's say, you fill it half-way so the weight sits below the crotch as with KTMs. Do you notice a difference?
In the vid I said it wasn't real noticeable but after some time I reckon it has contributed to feeling a bit heavier on the tight single tracks (I just bought an enduro style bike for this now!). On the open trails I find it's perfect. Loaded with gear (camp gear on back) I found it a bit harder to deweight the front wheel, but I plan to redo the suspension for that. The fuel would sit a bit lower and forward a bit as that's where it flares out. Still glad I got it.
I've got an identical set up on my Dizzer. I'm only 75kg but found the bike planted on straight, smooth riding but wanting in tougher terrain. I'm likely going to upgrade the springs front and rear. I had to dropp the rear sag to match the front with the big tank to maintain correct rake, now it feels as flat as a shit carters hat tbh.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm similar in weight, about 79-80kg, and found adjusting the clickers depending on what I do works for my riding & ability, for the mean time. How old is your bike - I know my mate's were pretty shot on his 10 year old, but he rides a bit harder than me.

Haha I'm pretty hopeless at them anyway so probably shouldn't comment much. I do find it's a bit harder to pop over pot holes, logs, ruts, etc but reckon if I get my suspension sorted it should go back to normal
Yeah I think you’ve sold me on one of these. Do you think it would be fair to say that because the 17 utilises the space where the plastics used to be, the overall shape and feel is roughly the same other than being slightly wider?
I think the tank is slightly wider, as it is easier to grasp the tank with the knees - almost no effort required (I had to force mine in before). However, it's not huge and bulky (it pretty much just takes the space of the plastics, etc) - after 6 months it's just normal to me now.

New rider with 2021 DRz400. Medium trail rider. 6’ 200 lbs. I haven’t touched the fork adjusters. Any feedback on if I should change the factory settings?
Hey John, there are some pre-load screws on the top of the forks, each side, if you find it's a bit soft you could turn it up (H) a click or two (as much as you like!), and if a bit hard, turn down (S) a click or two... after installing the tank, I turned mine up a couple of clicks.
