Not at all… literally will be different for everyone and it is meant for those of us who are rural and limited to slower or far more expensive wireless options. I was stuck with ATT DSL for 15 years, best package they ever allowed me to get was 5Mb/1Mb. Mine ran at 6.5Mb DL .9 to 1Mbps UL, solid and stable ping 17-20ms mostly. Finally tried the T Mobile (same Arcadyan KVD12 modem as this video) and I average 130-180Mbps down 30-60Mbps up, 15-30ms ping. It kicks ASS. Even at the worst times it runs around 60-80Mb down 20-40Mb up, 25-40ms ping. At best times I can see 280Mbps DL 80Mbps UL, 13-18ms. Haven’t done a ton of gaming but I have played some rounds of Cold War, Modern Warfare 2019, and the beta for MW3 recently. All with great success, just as stable as my DSL which actually was extremely good for CoD despite the slow speeds. My PC is connected through wifi for the time being even. Modem is in window, front (screen side) facing out towards the tower which worked best for me as even slightly rotating the modem can greatly affect my speeds. I spent hours testing it in different locations the day I got it. I average 3-4 bars on the modem (don’t really look at the advanced metrics) and the tower is 1/4 to 1/2 mile away, 50-80’ higher in elevation, and there are many large pine cedar and oak trees between us. I know I am lucky with my close proximity, but I have a neighbor in the canyon 300-400’ lower in elevation below me who gets decent results even. As for the distance between my Pc and the modem, the PC is downstairs and modem is in a room not directly above it but almost so. Wifi strength ranges from max bars to one less than. Running a speedtest on my phone using wifi being as far away from upstairs modem as possible (downstairs and other end of the house), my speed tests usually net me 60-120Mb down 20-40Mb up which is still plenty. Live in a very rural area in CA mountains.
Try placement changes, even slight rotations of the modem. Use a window facing nearest tower if possible. This Arcadyan modem can support external antennas if you open it up though I haven’t done so yet. Newest one they released doesn’t need to be opened for that support.
I can. Read my long azz reply to iqcarrie at the top of these comments. It truly will vary GREATLY for everyone though. I have seen people get 600-800Mbps download speeds, and here I thought my 130-280 range was good lol. No port forwarding for open NAT though. Mine says moderate in CoD on pc, no issues so far
It’s not meant for online gaming because you have to share the connection with other T-Mobile users fighting to get that wireless signal
Same with cable, you’re fighting for bandwidth in ur area
Dumb comment, every internet in the world you’re sharing internet
Do you like as opposed to Verizon 5G and AT&T Internet Air
Is it better
Getting mine tomorrow, thanks for the review!
You’re welcome
Hows it going?
feels bad for console but pc side depending what ya got you can fix your spikes/ping easily it’s situational*
I never got more than 3 bars also and had to unplug it 3 times a day atleast because it would completely lose service! Finally sent it back
