Besides his piano talent, Langlang is also a great person. I have been to six of his concerts. He is humble, patient and always treats his fans with great respect and humanity, while some other world class musicians keep distance from their fans.

100 million kids have watched that cartoon but only one parlayed it into a blockbuster career as a concert pianist. I hope Tom up in Cat Heaven appreciates how he inspired this 2-YO to become the hottest thing in classical music today.

Lang Lang must eat, drink, sleep, and breathe classical music. He is one of the most versatile virtuosos today. I love his expressions while playing indicating that he gets as caught up in the music as he wishes his listeners to do. I've never seen a pianist so embrace the music. He is a master at drawing in his audience to the emotions of whatever he is playing, and this is part of his genius.

Well, I do appreciate the fact that both of them use English language for this interview. And Lang Lang is a great pianist. Only a person who has never been on the stage, don't know feeling. To all haters out there - have the guts and go on stage, than we will talk again.

He is a very talented and increasingly accomplished pianist. He has a way to go before we can consider him as one of the contemporary greats, but some of his Chopin performances show sensitivity and technical mastery that are impressive. I think that he will continue to grow and mature as an artist, and settle down to focus more on the inner complexities of the music and much less and being showy. His affection for and inspiration to very young pianists is wonderful.

In august 1999 I met 17 year old Lang Lang for his first performance at the
    Famous Ravinia Festival
Huge park surrounding the acoustically perfect little theater 🎭
After the performance Lang Lang was coming towards my sister and I and as he drew closer I asked him for his autograph
And he did sign a little peace of Marlboro pack
    That was memorable, unforgettable

For your ears , beautiful Langgalamu. Lang Lang said he started playing piano at the age of 3 yo. He was recognised as a Pianist Prodigy., playing piano for classical music!
When Langgalamu started to sing Thailand folks song at the age of 3 yo, nobody said anything about her Talent, until I came along in 2018 & heard her story, from my knowledge of watching movies about the subject, I identified her Talents as a Singer
Prodigy. Langgalamu is a Singer Prodigy, the Firstborn in Thailand as a Singer Prodigy!
The way she learned Chinese Language & speaks the language within one year
& able to sing the Mandarin songs like TT, speaks for LamuVV for her good voice
& her ability to sing several languages songs indicating she has the Voice for singing!
Lack of recognition of Langgalamu’s Talents is no excuse she isn’t one Singer Prodigy
Born in Thailand! The First One who began to sing at 3 yo. It is for Thailand to rate
Langgalamu as A Singer Prodigy officially acknowledging her Great Talent for singing!!!

      @xcaluhbration 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Bruce Stoller For someone who has spent their whole life studying music you've seemed to miss the finest point about it. I'm no aficionado of this style but can you at least not appreciate that this man has brought new people, such as myself, to this scene and from there, we too can grow to love and appreciate other performers just as you do? When you first got into music and began to fall in love with it, do you remember the first time someone spoke down on a performer or artist that you loved and that you felt spoke to you? Did it feel good as they dismissed you and something you loved? How did it make you feel? Did you ever make a conscientious decision that you too would do that to someone else some day, or did it just sort of happen? Do you not realize that by speaking cruelly of a man you've never met and his style that you've, by extension, insulted us? Please, don't try to take our happiness from us, life is short and can be full of pain but we've found something we love that gives us joy, if he is temporary as you say, then he'll be gone very soon and no longer your concern. Here's the thing though, he wasn't your concern to begin with, you chose to show up to HIS video with your attitude. I don't know what else to say man...

These comments are poisonous and laughable at best. And it's always the couch elitists that have the most to say. As if art isn't up to ones own interpretation. Music being the most ubiquitous of all art doesn't exist to fit in your box. LL's motivation for practicing and sharing his love for classical music the world over doesn't exist to appease you snooty ingrates. As if the world wasn't closed minded enough. We don't need you elitists sending anymore of our greats to an early grave because their genius wasn't to your liking. Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt et al definitely don't need your input on how their music should be interpreted and felt.

Lang Lang is interesting. Being very technically gifted, he has the can play many difficult pieces with great accuracy. However, many pieces he plays, especially in recent times, have been muddy. They have been poorly performed. He just doesn't care anymore. He does get caught up in the music, but I can't help but feel that he doesn't understand it. It is one thing to follow the music, but it is a different thing to interpret it and use it to express your own emotions as well as the composer's.

His facial expression is always excessive and violent. His technique is great no doubt. But sometimes audiences need to concentrate on music, to feel the sound with their hearts, not the clowny gesture. Most of legendary pianists really do show intense concentration because of this reason.
