I honestly think that both people and animals on the clip have a history together, first of all most boars would not be that close to humans thay would rather stay away 2nd if that large boar really wanted to cause serious harm to that shepherd he would off if you look closely it looks more like they are actually playing.

    • @brianstallings4252

Right. That's exactly what I was thinking. It looked as if they were playing to me. The dog or the boars weren't really trying at all, ntm the people seemed as if they had a good relationship with the animals. TBH at first glance I even wondered if they were all their pets. People actually keep boars as pets.

Oddie would corral the piglets so they wouldn’t get lost, and she'd step in if he got a little too excited.
And when it wasn’t herding time, she'd actually let Oddie sleep with the little ones while she went mud bathing or got some food.

I know like Hormel I've seen some of the horrible things they're doing in there, like the pig knows they're dying and they dragged it over there with a meat hook into the execution block or whatever you want to call it, and the poor pig is just pleading for his life and that's horrible, because they're highly intelligent and they are aware of their own mortality! @@v3nomxxx961 Because the boars are not playing. They are protecting themselves and they are more than willing to seriously hurt the dog if they are able to catch it.
You should really have respect for boars. They are literally walking tanks with fur. Their tusks are literally sharper than my kitchen knives. It is a wonder why the humans are not freaking out.
The only reason the boars are ignoring the humans is because the sow is protecting her piglets from the dogs. They see the dog as a greater threat than the humans, and they can not run away as that put themselves in danger from the dog. So they have to stand up and fight. That is why the pigs are chasing the dog. It is to threaten it so it doesn't try to attack. If the dog attack any of the boars, the others will gut the dog alive.

I live in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, so not a small city and boars like this regularly stroll my city district that is near forests. They are not really causing any troubles, except people stop their cars to watch them. From time to time we have some deer visits also. The dog is probably a czechoslovak shepherd, that is 1/2 blood German shepherd and 1/2 Carpathian wolf. In Slovak/Czech we call German/Czechoslovak shepherds as wolfhounds.

The dogs and the wolves are both responding to social cues they are sending each other. It begins when one of the two (probably the dog) starts to playfully maneuver around the pigs, seeing if it can run at the boars, but not fully committing. If the boars start running away or charging at the dog (like they did in this video), then we've got a game on our hands. A human could do the same thing if he/she behaved the same way as the dog, although, personally, I probably wouldn't be doing anything that would make the boar want to charge at me.
It's like kids playing tag in the playground at school. The kids don't chase the teachers because they know that the teachers are not a part of the game. But if the teachers started giving social cues that told the kids they wanted in (the teachers wouldn't even need to explicitly say they wanted in), then the kids would start chasing the teachers also.

I wouldn't want to be out in pig infested forests without some way to defend myself but not all hogs are charge-happy war pigs. If you know the cues to look for, give them their space, and just be wary in their vicinity you will be fine & they won't bother you if you encounter some.
And of course don't try to pet them.

That boar isn't playing she has her babies with her she is protecting them. Boars wouldn't do that anyway the dog is chasing them they are running away from the dog so the mother thinks the dog is going to attack her young she is giving the dog a warning as to back off you hurt my babies I hurt you. They are wanting to go somewhere and they can't because somearse hole has their dog chasing them about thinking it is funny wouldn't be funny if the boar turns around and starts attacking the dog because she would rip that dog to shreds you'd have no chance fighting of a boar in attack mode but if there is quite a few people round to help then aye probably but the boar could easily turn on them as well. No wild animal I know will let anything get in the way between them and their young. Are you sure that is a boar I thought boars had a bigger mouth and sharp sharp teeth. Not saying they don't but you don't get to see them and usually you do that might be if they are going to attack or something could be wrong could be a boar I might be thinking of another animal that is like them but I suppose we all come in different shapes and sizes so I don't see why they can't. I could be wrong about all of this and the boars might actually be playing but to me it does not look that way. Cause if you noticed everytime the dog went near the babies the mum went for the dog. If they were just playing she wouldn't have bothered.

Definitely a very odd hunting game, it almost seems like the boars and the dog are friends. More often than not the pig would charge the humans and seriously injure them, but here... I don't know, it's strange, the people aren't concerned at all in spite of the boar's strength, though given that it's quite smart I suppose it makes sense for it to focus on the dog since it's by far the bigger threat there, much faster, has claws and sharp teeth, etc. Also looks more like a wolf, which is probably concerning for the boar.
