She's was 67 when she did this interview! She looks great!
Plastic surgery can do wonders!
She looks her age though
Faye Dunaway is one of the best actresses ever,so beautiful too.
I am still a Faye Dunaway fan up to this day; I adore her!
She is so, so beautiful!!
Always liked her no matter what part she played.
He gave her a very kind hearted interview/tribute. ❤
She is one of my heroes. She Truly put her blood, sweat, and tears to become a heck of an actress.. beautiful talented wisw strong woman. Love you Faye. Great interview.
Hero?
If you knew the way she behaves and how she talks/treats people in real life....
Id doubt youd be idolizing ger as your "hero"
Well said. Faye is an immortal icon. Pure class all the way
One of a few true legends we have left
Who is notorious for treating all people like a total c*nt
I spent years looking for this clip on the internet.
The interview is from 2008.
It was briefly on youtube during that time, then it went missing into oblivion till now.
My favourite american actress.
So she is 67? Here
Love Faye Dunaway. Loved her in Network. Right up there with greatest performances in cinema history and she do deserved her Best Actress Oscar win. When she says about Redford, yes “fine” ,so hysterical. He is gorgeous, it’s like “take me,take me” lol.
I admire Faye Dunaway’s screen talent!
This is what makes a Legend; Style, class and impeccable presentation, and intelligence!
What a woman! - and STAR.
Bravo Faye, you still got it Lady!!
A true "Southern Belle" XO
Oh man, you don't know what she's really like lol. Everyone despises her. Even Bette Davis says that she's an absolute nightmare
Remarkable actress who held her own with the best
It's such a shame that she regrets "Mommie Dearest" and believes that it was a mistake. At this point, she should just embrace it and own it because she was so great in it!
There was no acting...
Thats exactlt how she behaves
Shes an awful human being
She got an Oscar nomination for it and will be remembered forever for it!
@@Itstonytime77 No, she was not nominated. But she should have been.
the poor girl ended up speaking like Crawford long after the movie, (just as Austin Butler still sounds like Elvis) no wonder she found it hard to get roles after it
It’s because the movie is based on lies
She is so likable and fun in this interview, completely not what she is known for
She's rude and demeaning to people in public that are serving her.
One of the greatest actresses and most beautiful women of all time
What a marvelous interview - that host just kept things moving so briskly and amiably, and Faye was right there with with him, candid, charming - it flowed effortlessly. And when she was happy and delighted, how she glowed!
She sounds amazingly smart and is one of the greatest actresses in the US.
Probably one of the best interviews Jonathan has done
Wossy veers between good interviews and sht ones. When he's truly interested in someone, like he was here, we get the "Good Wossy".
BULLS SHT, the guy couldn't stop kissing her ass throughout the interview,
I adore Faye Dunaway more than life itself. She is a genius.
Yes, brilliant actress, but also crazy
I had the pleasure of meeting Faye, one on one, many times, but for HIPPA reasons I can't say why, I'm a doctor (no, SHE wasn't the patient!), but I sat with her many times at the kitchen table while she ate pan seared fish and steamed broccoli that she whipped up herself, and off a movie set she is a completely different person, I PROMISE YOU AND EVERYONE THAT! She never once was rude, course, obnoxious, she was just like somebody's mom really! In fact her son will tell you the same! This all took place in SC I might add, and I'd meet her at a certain home here in the outskirts of Columbia in a neighborhood with large homes, several acres of land, horses in the yard, and there she was being like a mother to me! She was kind and generous to me and never once raised her voice or made me feel anything but that i could have been sitting with my own mother or aunt or neighbor chatting at the kitchen table. I wish they'd post stuff like that about her instead of the other actors and actresses, who likely had big egos too, that had run-ins with her on set. She WAS a perfectionist and i think that must have been what came across in a crass way. So what. Most every famous entertainer, especially actors and actresses of her status, aren't particularly pleasant to anyone they meet really! I still have her cell number, even her old international cell number!, her NYC apartment address, LA address, the works. She's the only famous person other than Stevie Nicks that I've ever met. Stevie of course was beyond being a beautifully talented artist but a person just with the same beautiful qualities as her talent. Anyway, please continue your admiration of Faye as she truly is a lovely person and if you ever had the opportunity to sit and have a bite of lunch with her don't be surprised if she doesn't hold her fork out with a bit of her pan-seared fish and steamed broccoli on the end of her fork for you to have a bite with her! With Bonnie and Clyde (Warren Beatty), the Thomas Crown Affair (Steve, McQueen), and Chinatown (Jack Nicholson), and Network under her belt, plus the fasion icon of the 60's and 70's she was, they just don't get any better.
Blah blah blah..fake rude
Huge respect for her. Excellent actress
Puzzle of a Downfall Child is one of her films that people don't mention often..she played a fashion model and a narcissist with a history of sexual abuse just brilliantly!
"Wobert Wedford." Classic. Faye is a tremendous actor. It would be interesting to know how she may respond to Bette Davis, who commented on Faye's unprofessionalism on the set.
It's Bette Davis. What can. I say .
@@paulawagstaff686 Given how honest Bette is, it's very true but Faye isn't the only person in the industry that does that kind of stuff.
Barfly, which she starred in with Mickey Rourke, is a quirky little effort worth taking a gander at.
If there is any negative to say about Faye is that she doesn’t make enough films because virtually every film she stars in she’s outstanding. I wonder is it by her choice and if it isn’t then I take it back.
Excellent observation.
She made quite a lot of mediocre films throughout the 80s and 90s.
Anything negative?
Ask people about how SHE TREATS THEM
Shes notorious as a total monster and c*nt towards others
Since you say doesnt instead of didnt you are talking about currently. She is 82 years old. It's not like she's going to play Jason Bourne.
Movie stars no longer have a studio behind them to give them continuity in their work. "Movie stars" are now on their own. You heard Faye state that she is still trying to get funding for Master Class. Before that used to be the studio's job.
I like faye dunaway, she is beautiful! She has her own unique style and a dam good actress, you have to give her that! love to you faye, wendy
I love Faye!!!
Charming, temperamental, and a perfectionist at her craft. She exudes fire.
She is a very gifted soul and creative artist. 🙏
She came across very well, considering all the horror stories about her!
I LOVED "Three Days of The Condor". It's my favorite film.
BEAUTIFUL WOMAN 👩 Has aged extremely GRACEFULLY 😍
Have always loved Faye Dunaway and her iconic 70s film. Network was perfection on so many levels including her performance.
Sometimes have to wonder if Faye Dunaway is misunderstood. Hear all the reports about how difficult she was to work with and I think some of that of course might be true but was she more difficult than many of the other actors? Not sure she was. Just the other day, found a TH-cam video of an answering machine message she left when she was very upset. It appeared from the message that she had an interview and they only focused on Mommie Dearest and her conflicts with Andrew Lloyd Webber and didn't focus on any of her great movies where people got along with her. She was arguing her point on the message and it was very classy to me. it should have been a case study on how to argue your point in a professional way and yes she was heated but she was not disrespectful or unprofessional in any way. There was no cursing and she is absolutely so articulate here in this interview
I know how she feels about it but Mommie Dearest was a great movie IMO. There wasn't a moment in the movie where I didn't believe I was looking at Joan Crawford - and, people say she's "overacting" in that movie but I will tell you that I had a relative who had mental health issues and Faye's performance in the film was SPOT ON.
My favorite films with her are: Bonnie and Clyde, Chinatown and Network.
She looks amazing here !
#FayeDunaway 👑💖😍😍😍
She’s a great actress
Still So beautiful and talented
One of the greatest actresses of our time. She was very gracious in this interview. She's sometimes a bit thorny.
She presented as a very nice woman
Sometimes a bit?
The woman berates and trears others like absolute shit
If you knew how she talks and treats others on a regular basis, your whole view of her wpuld change instanteously
@@bingbangboom9008 I'm well aware of her rants in her personal and professional life. I was talking specifically about how she comes across in interviews.
@@nycp1969 yes here she's very sweet. other co-workers have seen her in full diva mode - Bette Davis had some interesting quips about Faye's conduct.
@@haintedhouse2990 Yes. They cleverly worked that into Feud, mentioning Faye with reference to Bette Davis, when the audience kept thinking of her connected to Joan. It was a fun wink to the audience.
Women are asked about male costars where as men are asked about directors.
No men are always asked how it was to work with women costars
Faye Dunaway is fabulous especially in Mommie Dearest
Great and wonderful Faye
You know the guys at the piano wanted her to say "Barbara please!"
Barfly is one of my favorites
loooove the Condor film.....when was this taped? must have been a good while back.
Damn! I wanted to see the Carnaby Street newsreel!
Faye ❤
Love Terry O`Neil`s photo of Faye the morning after the night that she won the Oscar. Told him so. Got on with him. Liked him alot. Good taste. Funny, while Dunaway and I are very very different types we do agree on men, some of them. Interviewed Marcello another of her charmers and fell for him too.
You sound like a very interesting person to know. :-)
If anyone has a right to be a diva, it’s Faye Dunaway. ❤️
It's weird because she seems so nice and personable here. Bette Davis said she was the most unprofessional and demanding person she ever worked with.
She is 1 fine looking babe!! Always has been, a very talented actress also!!!
Dunaway’s career in this is examined almost entirely as dependent on the leading men she worked with.
Shade 😎
Playing "Kabuki" in a role can often stick with an actor affecting their style. This occured with Mommie Dearest writ large. If you watch her work her face muscles were never the same. Dunaway also hit a certain age and many roles were just turned down or not offered. She did not have a comedy repertoire either, so that took her out of many possibilities as well. That said she made many films in the late 60's-70's back to back that are all literal hits. Erm.. so she was very, very successful. Comedy is one of the hardest things to do and really she could play glam camp but...
Mommie Dearest was a great movie. Faye should've gotten an oscar for it or at least a nomination. I'm not joking.
She was nominated
@@Itstonytime77She was nominated for a Razzie instead I'm afraid.
I don't know these american late night guys AT ALL (I'm European) but Faye Dunaway rocks!
This is an English presenter.
She sure looks great here. 2008.
It’s too bad what happened to her career. After her peak it went all downhill after “Eyes of Laura Mars”, which I liked, but not because it was a good film. She was only 35 her career imploded. It’s not fair how the better parts did t materialize.
Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, J FK Jr, and Michael Jackson whom all supported help and aid for Palestine, died. When Faye made a film in like support, Hiollywood tried to destroy her. hmmmmm
some say it was a combination of her difficult reputation and the unintentional comedy of Mommie Dearest - after that camp-fest not many seemed to take her seriously.
Since there is no longer a motion picture studio system, a movie star's life is no longer than the blink of an eye.
She made Barfly and was so incredible raw and real, which I think she hoped to leverage her on top again. Sadly, gritty projects for women started to wane in the 80’s and blockbusters became dominant. Spielberg, Lucas and their protégés innovated the special effects which became the stars. Can you imagine Faye Dunaway in any of those projects?
Shes a great talent, but 99.9 % of people who have worked with her says shes absolutely horrible and treats people horrible...
I think she’s on the autistic spectrum, she has problems in social situations which people read as difficult.
Horribly
Your sentence requires an adverb.
She's probably dreading Mommy dearest, her most iconic movie of all Time to be mentioned in every single interview ;)
if she owned up to it with some humor instead of treating the film like 'the unspeakable' i'd have more respect for her. (and she needs to be nicer to her co-workers)
I love her gloves....
Lol I’ve only every seen Faye Dunaway place bitchy/evil characters, but she seems so fun and friendly in real life! 😊❤️
Ross keeps interrupting his guests
Wheres carnaby street clip??
Flick is great film.
Good interviewer despite his inability to pwonownse the letter R. Otherwise he's gwate. I do agree though that Chinatown was a weemarkable movie.
Why does he interupt his guests and talks over them lol
I’m on her side, actually. She previously said sorry to a crew member repeatedly and it seems she directing herself, which is difficult. An actor of her calibre wants direction, the very least calling action while she is behind closed doors. Breaking it down further, Action, doors open, dialog with energy, walk forward to a mark, find your light, continue dialog all the while the whole crew is standing there watching a real movie star. Oh, she’s never met most of these people and is told do all this by a crew she has no relationship, that could make her look bad when the project is out.
Bette Davis sure didn’t care for her “good as it can be” attitude. That Infamous interview with Ms. Davis on the Tonight show with Johnny Carson paints a different picture. Well nobody’s perfect and still appreciate her as a great actress. Her role in “Network” was explosive and her Oscar winning performance was well deserved. Loved her too in the “Three Musketeers”and “Supergirl”, looked as though she had a lot of fun playing those villainous roles. Enjoyed her fashion stint in those Alessandro Michele/Gucci ads. In every sense of the word just an absolute true exceptional actress.
Fey should definitely be on cameo ...she could charge millions for ... Barbara Please....
She refused to let any talk show bring up Mommie Dearest which is far and away her most iconic role and still popular with new generations.
Not really ... for many of us her most iconic role will always be as Bonnie Parker in Bonnie and Clyde .
I thought she did great in that role. Joan Crawford to a T!
Nah her iconic roles for me are The Thomas Crown Affair, Chinatown and Network
@@lepetitchat123 you are wrong.
@@gardensofthegods eh Bonnie & Clyde was okay and well shot but Mommie Dearest literally sticks to her name most.
doesn't anybody think it's incredibly sexist that the majority of this interview focused on the MEN she worked with rather than questions about her...and her work....yes of course she is kind and playing the good sport...but .it's quite sad.
I thought the same exact thing
Yes. Not sure it was intentional, but it came across as inconsiderate. I would have asked her about her role in Barfly and how she gets jnto a role etc
The reason Meryl Streep is so good ? Faye Dunaway
True, Bosley Crowther made two mistakes and got sacked from the NYTImes. He reviewed negatively `Bonnie and Clyde` and `The Graduate`. It WAS Britain that validated the film and the career of Faye Dunaway. The Times tried to catch up and published in 1970 `Down With Myth America` by Sandra Shevey (the first piece on gender in film) Should have landed Shevey the job of film critic but as Fate would have it........
Along with Jane Fonda, my favorite actress!
Wait real quick I know a lot about actors actresses and movies But I don't pretend to know everything is terry O'Neal somehow related to Ryan O'Neal?
I forgot was she the wife of Marlon Brando in don Juan Demarco ?
Well she was recently fired from the play 'Tea at 5' for some awful behavior and treatment of coworkers. Mommie Dearest wasn't much of a stretch for her to play. She is an absolutely brilliant actress but like many people not the most friendly person.
Goddess
She was disliked intensely among her co stars and directors ...its said she was terribly unprofessional impossible to work with and deal with ...I think one Director threw her off a film for being such . ?
A real talent but so many people said they would never work with her again
She started the interview off with a lie. She didn’t move to London because her career was going so great and she needed a break. She ran away because everyone was making fun of her for mommie dearest and she retreated, hoping they would all forget about it!
Not to mention, supergirl! That’s the film she should be ashamed of!
Not mommie dearest! That film was fantastic. She was great in that role!
Do the lines!!
What precisely was ‘illustrious’ about her career??
She was in some of the greatest American films ever made, that had huge cultural impact, what’s your achievement?
I think Bette Davis has something to say about this
Not a good interview..too relaxed..almost seems stupid..but WHAT AN ACTRESS?! I see `Chinatown` on a regular basis...It ranks up there with `Psycho` as one of my top 5. Dunaway and Nicholson or NIcholson and Dunaway. Each one drives the other. Top of the mark performances. Classic, great great Polanski film.
too relaxed? they are the best because you get authenticity
@@suave-rider Not always and certainly not here!!
This is an act. In reality she's a cold, mean, abusive woman who treats everyone as if they were trash. Nasty piece of work.
Several have commented on that, famously Bette Davis said she did not like her.
Yeah I guess her and Joan Crawford weren't so different after all🤔
@@cashdarealmoney1128I heard she was mean to the employees of the grocery store she shopped in. Apparently this behavior was a regular thing. I'm surprised she wasn't banned from the store. 🤭
@valeria-militiamessalina5672 There is a story that when The Towering Inferno was made she kept arriving on set very late, keeping the actors waiting. Apparently one day William Holden had enough and grabbed her, threatening her if she ever did it again.
It's too bad she's difficult to work with. She's one of the great screen legends. Today's actresses except for a few are vapid and forgettable.
So..
How many times have you worked with her then??
@@paulawagstaff686 never. Just heard stories about her.
some of her best acting can be found here 😅😭
Had she not acted a fool backstage on Tea at 5.
The best picture is whatever Faye says it is. I'm referring to the Oscars mix up.
Her reputation precedes her
💥
NO WIRE HANGERS !!
never realized how much Faye resembles Robin Wright.
Bette davis said she was the most unprofessional person that she's ever worked with
Bette Davis was no picnic herself.
@@DeepScreenAnalysis I'm sure. You can only take it as a grain of salt
“The lines, Michael…….Do the lines!!!”
Barfly is a fantastic movie.....it's more better
Misunderstood artist.
She eats nails for breakfast
I've heard that, but she's gone on record as saying she really doesn't like the way nails taste. She prefers denver omelettes and pancakes with strawberry syrup for breakfast.
@@richardscott4318 well when your up all night shucking oysters with with your clawed feet, and crashing coal in to diamonds on damand you probably work up quite an appetite by morning. 🤔
