Growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, it was Carling Black Label, Renner, or Iron City Beer. I remember coming out of Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Briar Hill works from the 7-3 shift in July and stopping at Stanley's for a shot and a schooner, called a "Puddler and a helper." I worked with my Father for the last two years before he retired. Y-Town was a great place to live back then.

And here I thought that Carling Black label was a South African thing. Ours is 5.5% & there was an Extra strong version for a while which was 7%.
There is a differece, carling BL was my favorite.
