It's actually an extremely sad song. The person singing is depressed as he thinks of a lover who has presumably died or is gone (the music video shows his lover dying in hospital). He misses her stories and that she used to tells. He really wishes and had hoped he could be her prince like that in a fairy tale however he can no longer do so due to death. Talking to himself in his depressed state, he blames himself and asks whether he did something wrong and is worried that she (presumably in the afterlife) wont understand why he can't be her prince. He initially, likely starts to hate fairy tales as "they are all lies/fake" as he no longer can be her romantic prince. The rest of the song is him pleading that he wants to be that prince, - instead of prince now changed to Angel as presumably Angel sreside in heaven so he can wrap his wings around her, just like in some of her other fairy tales stories she used go tell.
