the lyrics on this song are kind of weird because at the time other underground rappers that hated on him for turning into idol were talking shit saying that he didn’t have good flow and could just write pretty lyrics, so he wrote this as a ‘joke’ to show that he can rap hella fast and has insane flow but that that’s not the most important thing and that most of the people talking shit had songs with no meanings and shitty lyrics and could just spit fast. he showed them he could destroy any of them in any aspect of rap

Gab y i heard somewhere that he didn’t care as much about the lyrics but he had this concept for a video that he wanted to do but I don’t know if it’s true
outta here! RM *always* cares about his lyrics. what you heard somewhere isn't accurate. and this MV follows his mixtape concept speaking out about his self-worth, mental illness, and finding himself. on the superficial level people only see "he's acting crazy because his rap is crazy". Namjoon isn't shallow like that

The captions don't work on that video unfortunately but there is a fansub that explains some of the wordplay that's worth checking out! RM really shines lyrically.

CK Yoongi In Korea the government is pretty strict with the music production so any songs with a lot of strong cursings/bad/sexual/political contents will be banned. I heard that some of Suga's songs were banned too because of that (cmiiw). So I think thats prob why the rapper lines are a lot tamer now..they prob have some unreleased songs like this in hand right now but cannot be released because of that Korean regulation
Ugh... I feel sad about this. There's maybe many song that r lit and that snapp AF but they couldn't release it now already becoz of that regulation :'(
And also if ever they release the tracks long ago maybe they'll also snap, rap is weak without the vulgar and cursings (in my opinion) :D

Technically these aren't released through BigHit and aren't profited from, so the government has no say.
The reason why the RapLine hasn't "gone hard" recently is simple: they're in a better place mentally.
They released angry diss tracks during the height of all the hate they got and when they were wrestling with themselves about who they were.
And like RM has said at several Awards shows/Concerts this year.......ARMY and the whole Love Yourself album has really helped them all mentally......to quote him specifically, "we're no longer in pain, thanks to you."
They have no need to go off. They are happy with themselves and are discovering new sides of themselves. Which is also why RMs Playlist was super experimental and why he's been calling himself Namjoon in every Interview and whenever he's asked. 😊💜

Monsta X is not exclusively a hiphop group, although that's kind of how they started. Their rap line (Jooheon and I.M) is one of the best in Korea. They both have solo releases on TH-cam, but you should check out the group, too: "Trespass," "Rush," "Hero (Rooftop Ver.)," "Stuck," and "Dramarama" are good ones to start.
And others that I have no particular song recommendations for are: Sik-K, Loco, Gray, Ugly Duck, Simon Dominic, Elo, Hoody, Keith Ape, Dok2, and Beenzino.

Re: "Joke," in an interview with Hiphopplaya, RM said this about the song: "‘Joke’ is a song whose lyrics were written with a stream of consciousness. That’s why the title is called ‘Joke’ as well. There’s nothing hidden behind the lyrics. It’s 500% for the auditory pleasure of rap songs. Since the other songs have messages or emotions placed into them, I felt that it was necessary to add in a refreshing song without any thoughts. I put in a lot of what I believe are rap ‘skills’." So, the lyrics aren't really the focus on this one, although he's a literal genius and can turn out masterpieces just with stream of consciousness.

when the captions say "Auto generated" it means they detect the sound and try to decode it. which means theyre not the real lyrics, because he's rapping mostly in korean and youtube is decoding english or what it thinks is english xD. Auto generated never work unless it's the same language as the audio

I've been a fan of RM since about 2007, at the time he was rapping in Hongdae under the name Randa. He's still one of my favorite rappers and he's always been a beast on the beat. My top 5 in kpop are BTS's Suga, RM, EXO's Park Chanyeol, BigBang's T.O.P. and B.A.P.'s Bang Yongguk.

the 'bippity boppity' was a stab at rappers who just rap nonsense words because they rhyme and don't actually make sense. For some reason real english songs for this song are really hard to find but when you do you can't even read them because they're way to fast. you have to pause like every two seconds so it's actually kind of nice you reacted without so you can just listen
